I'm going to miss:"Dragi potniki, pristali smo na Ljubljanskem letališču. Zunanja temperatura je 20 stopinj celzija. Dobrodošli doma“. I just would like to know how much have politicians stuff in their pockets selling Adria to that uncapable owner.
Was due to fly with Adria on 27th June 1991 - the day the Yugoslav war broke out, we boarded the plane at Luton, waited 2 hours and were not given permission to take off and were told all travel to Yugoslavia was cancelled. I remember the cabin crew being very upset because war had broken out back home. The holiday makers whose holidays were cancelled were very understanding thankfully.
I am sorry for your experience. With this war we lost everything...like Adria airways too :(
@@podgurje100 it was just a holiday for us but we knew how sad it was for the people in Yugoslavia so we couldn't complain
@@LA90598 on that day they called my father to go on frontline. What was your plan to visit that day?
@@podgurje100 bless you that's so sad. How old was you ? Our trip was to a town called Pula but was cancelled .. I've been interested in the Yugoslav war ever since.
@@LA90598 my mother was pregnant with me in June 1991. Oh Pula luckely was not touched by the war. Even today Pula is the most pro Yugoslav city in Croatia. Today is everything different in negative way
RIP Adria. Never got to fly them :(
I loved taking off from Ljubljana, through the thick low hanging winter fog, and quickly emerging into pure blue sky, with the hill tops below poking out of the cloud like islands in a mystical sea... it was stunningly beautiful. OK, it’s not like the airport has closed, Slovenia still exists and there are still flights going there (and, to be honest, usually cheaper) but it is very sad Adria has gone. I really liked their livery too.
It's very said, Adria left us :(. We will always remember them in our hearts.
I sure will miss, but always remember Adria. I just want to thank them for giving me the best day of my life! I can't fly, but i wish i could beome a pilot. One day... They gave me a tour of the whole airport, all the other jobs besides being a pilot. They gave me hope, when i was lost. They gave me hope that i may fly one day. But if not I WILL find a job that keeps me around airplanes. Rest in peace my friends.
Sad to see such a great airline go😞
Another sad story about corruption and bad politics in our country.
Welcome to Slovenia ;)
yup :(
4K Invest stole from Adria, it's not our fault
Slovenia lost their flag carrier and they don't really have an airline to re claim the spot, shame really
hello, i am Slovenian and I am kinda sad :(
alxestis from as far our ( sloven ) news I can assure you that yes they are disgusting about it
I got to fly them twice for the first time in January 2019. Very lucky considering they closed down just a few months later
Sad when a country looses it national carrier, I feel for the staff, who’s next I wonder
My son is among them.
Giorgio Grlj sorry for him you and everybody. Hope they resurrect it in some way
hi Eli, somebody I hope
@@bootleg0012 Mentioning Eurowings, you have any insider info?
Aigle Azur (French, founded in 1947) just vanished the week before as well.
I remember Adria from the time of the old Yugoslavia, these are beautiful memories and it was a wonderful country
Really sad seeing this. Kind of also freaks me out seeing this wave of airlines going bust this year. Makes you wonder if others are in tough shape too.
Barney Ward Norwegian isn’t doing well right now. European Airlines are having huge issues, especially low-costs that cross the Atlantic have been having issues.
Did fly Adria several times - really enjoyed it - and was my only connection to where I came from. Hope they will fly again.
.......will always remember ADRIA............FROM CARLOS.........SORY FOR WHAT HAPPENS........... THANKS.....🇸🇮
Another one 😥. Farewell Adria Airlines...
Sorry you had to close. I had a postcard from you around 1977 for a class project.
Nice video
Airlines in Europe have definitely been going through some tough times lately. Best wishes to the former employees and their families who are affected by this.
Wish you all very well on your next endeavors.
Hungary shared your fate, like so many times in history. They lost their beloved Malév I think in 2012. Maybe you should get together to create a combined regional airline. It is just a thought.
It already bankrupt in 1968 but was saved
Sad to see a Balkan "legacy" carrier go under. I remember seeing Inex Adria Aviopromet's DC-9s during my yearly summer visits to Yugo in the 70s and 80s. I loved their livery back then. They will be missed.
Springbok295 - Slovenian is not a Balkan country. It’s as near to the Balkan mountains as Belgium is to the Alps.
@@AlpineTerrier Slovenia is indeed a Balkan country so are Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Macedonia...etc. You don't have to be ashamed of!!
@@AlpineTerrier Even Croats are shaming on Balkan peninsula. But river Sava is the Balkan frontier still.
Last week I was supposed to fly with them.. Had 1 day to re-organize and I was shocked, almost everything full booked. I hope never again this kind of experience.
Why says this video farwell to Adria. Adria is still flying. Now its own by Slovenia, Switzerland and Kosovo
Very sad. I was hoping that one day Adria would fly LJU/GIG or GRU. Slovenia is still on my wish list!
My thoughts and prayers are with the good people of Adria. May your memories keep you together.
zz zz Sorry, I don’t speak Section 8.
No, I’m just a medically retired EMT that was injured in the line of duty that happens to believe in God. What do you do?
No reply, huh? Take your big words and shove them.
Not another one,so sorry to hear this
NOOOO WILL ALWAYS BE MY BALKAN BUDY
Dobro dan adria 😔
Where did you buy adria plane toy?
Jabotičnik na letaliscu so jih meli
@@fox0013 Hvala, vem ker sem tam kupil enega
Yes, very sad. I happen to stand I an A319 today, the Slovenian tail numbers are gone, soon the livery and the plane will be gone too...
It's really sad that another European airline has gone bust. Less airlines -> less choice for the passenger.
The hell is going on? All these airlines disappearing.
In the videos all the cockpits look huge but in real life most of them are tiny. Just a random thought of me ;D
Alot of airlines are going under, with the economic times in a downturn, it's taking a toll on a number of airlines which have been in existence for as long as I know, sorry to see them go though.
You are right, we will see a few more go in the near future
Sad rip Adria. Who is the next now?? It s too much.
Another airline more??? Jet Airways (India), Aigle Azur and XL Airways (France), Thomas Cook Airlines (U. K.) and now Adria Airways (Slovenia) Bankrupt??? 🤔 What happened?? Excellent video..!!
And Avianca Brazil
What happened to Adria? So soon after TCX as well
Hugh's Aviation they just filed for bankruptcy and canceled all flights.
Excelente día.
Lately a lot of airlines are dropping like flies. All you hear in the news is that one airline after another is bankrupt. What the hell is going on?. Especially since more people are flying then ever. Is it just bad management?. Thomas Cook is gone also and few others.
Šteta. Nadam se da će je nekako revitalizovati kao što su Italijani revitalizovali Alitaliju u ITA Airways.
Not another airline!!!
Another one bites the dust RIP
Well said, and also a song of "QUEEN". But who want's to live forever? Another song of QUEEN.
@@matthiashornbostel8240 they we're. under pressure. For a while
@@coyftigers8928 Good choice! F. Mercury and D. Bowie. Both are also history. Adria airways had a long history since 1961. Was the former Inex. Adria airways. They had a famous but sad accident in 1976 over Zagreb. A Hawker Trident aircraft collided with a Dc 9-32 in the air. I remember this catastrophe very good. There were no survivers. Adria airways was a small but famous airline. In present time it's hard business for airlines.
@@matthiashornbostel8240 yes agreed
@@matthiashornbostel8240 Most famous was Ajaccio approach that crashed and killed 180 people, famous charter jp 1308.
We flew with adria from Manchester to Slovenia in july. The outbound flight was delayed 3.5 hours and the flight back was cancelled during the holiday so ended up flying back to standstead. I applied for compensation but none of my calls or emails were ever responded to. Appalling customer service.
Im sure this was once Inex Adria flying dc9's.... sad that they have gone
It was
One more closing door's... Aigle Azur also, Thomas Cook, XL Airways.... where it will stop?
Adria died?
Yes 😢.
CAT3A flying manually? is it allowed?
CRJ700/900 are certified to fly CAT3 approach manually even with one engine only.
Believe me those guys flying CRJ200/700/900 are pilots, real pilots (the right stuff) not some kind of “system operators”
I was flying A320 and CRJ family, flying CRJ is a serious business.
@@crj9001 Thank you for flying me safely home over the past 28 years. Forever grateful for all the memories with Adria and its always professional and smiling crew.
Gregor Kaučič thank you 👍
Beno Saradzic
It was a pleasure! I hope I’ll welcome you aboard soon, maybe another carrier!
Thank you!
Škoda da smo take brihtne glave pa prodal paRadnega konja drzave...se že pozna,Brnik sameva, vse okol pa cveti, kje so dobristari časi...
Never heard of this airline
Adria4ever
That's so sad!
i flew from frankfurt to kosovo back in 2013...a great experience!!!
hvala da ste se pobrali s svojimi nenormalnimi cenami in dali prostor ostalim nizkocenovnikom
In kje so zdaj vsi ti nizkocenovniki? Z Brnika sedaj lahko letite samo za abnormalno visoke cene, ali pa sploh ne morete - večinoma je sedaj treba kar v Trst, Treviso, Zagreb, Benetke....
RIP Slovenia's national airline
Sorry about Adria but the first landing in the video was really below minimums...
...you mean landing at 5:00...
HUD helps a lot and the camera doesn't show everything what he can actually see ;)
I mean second landing. They could still not see anything at 100 feet and the captain said himself that it was below minimums....
Exactly what I was thinking
@@rthjong ...5:20 captain says that weather was realy at the minimum...
The word "below" wasn't mentioned.
Maybe you heard "under".
Muito bom seu vídeo just planes.
Ne brinite Janezi, JAT (Air Serbia) will be there for you!!
So enjoyed this ..thanku. ..love an god bless x
angleško govorite kot da rusa poslušaš ki se je včeraj začel uciti.
Adria is from my country slovenia it was my first and last flight on Adria :(
Very sad. I flew them earlier in the year.
If Adria is a national airline, why doesn't the Slovenian government bail them out?
Don’t quote me on this but there may be laws against that in Europe
@@justplanes The British government had the option to bail Thomas Cook out but they refused because it wasn't viable and the airline wasn't a national airline unlike British Airways which I could be wrong, was bailed out in the 70's when the UK went bankrupt.
Venesia FM! - Tristan154 I read in an article that the Slovenian government refused to bail Adria out because Adria did not have a plan for how to return to profitable operations.
Adria was not a national airliner anymore. It was sod for some change money to some questionable German financial fund.
@@TheMR2V6 When I said national airline I meant as in "flag carrier" not state owned.
I should of been clearer.
And another carrier gone 😢
Sad story for employees....laid off....adios....

This is kind of sad or reminds me of when wow
Well, Thomas Cook and now Adria? Dafuq?
Recently I flew on Adria. I had a Business Class ticket, but due to a change in equipment I was downgraded to Economy. To make matters worse, the chief steward berated me in front of everybody else when I complained. I thought perhaps they could mitigate that with a free drink, or something (Swiss did this when I was downgraded due to overbooking). Adria ignored all my written complaints without even the decency of a reply. I have a case pending with the German authorities for compensation. I find it very satisfying that this crappy airline has gone under. Well deserved. Good riddance.
I guess no compensation for you anymore
What an insensitive comment. You had one bad experience (sorry), and 500 families lost jobs and careers.
Europe airline business market is in danger
First comment
why does it matter?
Sanddab Z it doesn’t
i flew from frankfurt to kosovo back in 2013...a great experience!!!
