I love the gold & blue together. When I make glitter ornaments, I drain the ornament by placing in a plastic cup. Unlike you, I do not add the glitter immediately. I drain the floor cleaner for about 5 minutes before adding the glitter. I have found this technique prevents glitter from forming into clumps, as there is not a lot of floor cleaner pooled inside the ornament. It does not prevent full coverage of the glitter. Also, this technique uses much less glitter than when glitter is immediately added. If any extra glitter remains, I empty it into another plastic cup and reuse it. Since it has not clumped up it is reusable... I am not stating either way is better or worse. I did not know if you were aware of this technique and decided to share, since your ornaments are so beautiful.
Leigh Sutherland thank you for your input! Yes I made this video last year and was relatively new at making them. I learned a lot since then! I also recycle my glitter. And I let them drain a little longer. But I do not use floor cleaner anymore either. I was disappointed that half of my ornaments had glitter fall off of them. They are so much fun to make. I am going to be making an updated video once the holiday settles down. Lol
@@stormymccall6420 I also had the problem of the glitter not sticking that well to the floor cleaner. I was thinking of thinning some modge podge. What did you decide to use?
Hi, love the project! Can you, please share the brand of the glitter that you used? You mention in the beginning of the video, that is really good to work with. Thank you!
Alejandra Estrella none of mine did from last year. So my mop n glo held up. Idk how long over time though. But try using the minwax polycrylic method. It seems to stick really well and just as sparkly!
I'm looking for a way to use 'transfer vinyl'...my circuit isn't the best cutter when using tinier letters. And the sentiment is rather lengthy. I'm assuming you would find a sentiment online, and print it off, in any color, onto adhesive vinyl and stick it on...similar to what you've done here. Is this all correct? Would I have to print it backwords??? ….ahhh I'm confused already lol
Laura Andrews I have never done this but look for some Cricut groups on fb. There are lots of people doing as you described and I am sure they can help you!!
Gabrielle Cahill it can be really tricky because of the curve of the ornament! You can use a hair dryer to help warm the vinyl and get it to stick faster. Or you can try the water method. You spritz the ornament with water and a tiny bit of soap, apply the vinyl and squeegee out all the water from under the deal. You will have to let it dry some before peeling off the transfer tape.
Paulia Hughes sadly by the next Christmas a lot had fallen off 😯. I live in a humid state so I’m sure that doesn’t help. The Polycryllic has held up indefinitely!
I was wondering if you could tell me the name and size of fonts used? also what size bulbs are these? I'm looking into making my kids some this year. :)thank you
The bulb size I used are the glass 4” bulbs from Hobby Lonny. I have also used the standard size bulbs too. But for these large “family name” ones, they are 4”
Sandy Seas I have not tried it that way. But in actuality you don’t use a whole lot of glitter. Once the glitter coats the acrylic, the excess will come out of the ball when you dump it out. I reuse that glitter for the next ornament!
Polly Weinmann I have only used mop n glo but this year I am using a minwax polycrylic for coating the inside of the ornaments. And I think it is going to hold up much longer than the mop n glo .
Chris Pecherzewski Hi! I almost ALWAYS use Oracle 651 (permanent) on all of my projects. And I did for these also. But you can use 631 as they aren’t outside or in the elements. 631 is not permanent.
I used Mop and glow in this video last year and I found that it didn’t hold the glitter to the ball very well over time. So now I use Polycrylic clear gloss. You can find it at Wal-Mart in the paint section for around $8
Jodi Schroeder I have some that did ok and as I have pulled more out from last year, glitter fell from them and they don’t look great. I recommend using Polycrylic over Mop n glo
Stormy McCall Can you tell me if the Polycrylic you recommend comes in a spray, a bottle like the Mop n Glo or a can (as used in a rolled or brushed on application)? TY! 😊
Hello! Thank you for your question! To make the letters for the names, I use a Cricuit cutting machine. There are other brands out there you can use. And the letters are permanent vinyl and just apply them to the ornament!
Very professionally done. Thank you for sharing.

The font I used is Lucida Calligraphy
Where did you get that font from? I can’t find it anywhere
Wow. I looked at a lot of videos about these ornaments. This is the absolute best. Beautiful job
Seema Salima thank you!!!
Great idea... LOVE IT!!!
Hi in this video you mentioned that you’re using glass or plastic ornaments can you say which exactly you used for this project,
Hi! You can use either. I use glass always though.
Thank you very much for the video it was very helpful
Rosalie Donnels thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful!

Really nice! Thank you so much!
ty. i go cheap!... i soo wanna do this for my daughter or i can sale them :)
I've made a lot of these and floor wax doesn't really dry that fast. You have work time.
So cute♡ would you happen to know the name of the whimsical font you used for the Noah ornament? Love it!
I’m finding that with the mop and glow it doesn’t stick forever and glitter will come lose,
Hi! Beautiful ornaments! I was just wondering if you'd know if the glitter will fall over time?

Laura Andrews I have never done this but look for some Cricut groups on fb. There are lots of people doing as you described and I am sure they can help you!!
I was wondering if you use Mod Podge or anything to seal it after you're done. I've had that some people do.
Jennifer Schaffer I haven’t tried it but I think if you use the polycrylic, you won’t need to seal it.
What size and name is the font? Also what are the white things the ornaments are sitting on?
I am always looking for little tools to use. I found these to be perfect and quite simple. It is the lid off of a used medication bottle!
Looks like medicine bottle tops they are sitting on.
I can never get my larger prints, letters or images, to stick without looking wrinkled or bubbles. any tips or tricks?!

hi what size did you do the gold M and white Mccall?
Diana Villasenor the M is about 3” high for a 4” ornament and for the McCall was about 3” wide
How long does the glitter last with the mop and glo, Stormy? Very nice job.
Paulia Hughes sadly by the next Christmas a lot had fallen off 😯. I live in a humid state so I’m sure that doesn’t help. The Polycryllic has held up indefinitely!
Hi. I am new to this and was wondering how did you make the vinyl letters?
Thank you for asking! I use a Cricut machine. But there are other kinds of machines you can use. I use 651 vinyl on them
Thank you so much for your reply. I have just made this. You are very good & clear with your instructions and made this really easy to watch & make xx
Teresa Smith thank you for your comment! I love hearing feedback! I hope you enjoyed making them!!
Did you curve the text ?
Would this work on the plastic bulbs?
Crystal Davis yes!
Where do I get the letters from, because my writing isn’t that great.
Yadira Santiago neither is mine! I use my Cricut machine to cut them out using vinyl. There are other types of machines you can get also.
where you get the stickers & the lamanater thing? sry if i spell wronge
I use the Cricut cutting machine to cut out the letters I am using. I use permanent vinyl for the letters so they don’t peel off
I was wondering if you don’t have a Cricut machine is there another way to maybe do the letters
Jennifer Lopez there may be other ways I am aware of. I’m not sure 🤔
Can you use the vinal without the machine?
Yes. But to be able to cut it out in different fonts, you will need to use a cutting machine of some sort.
@@stormymccall6420 if you have the alphabet metal dies you can cut them using that.
Also you can get shapes from paper punches.
Amanda Morin this is a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
@@stormymccall6420 you're welcome:)

The bulb size I used are the glass 4” bulbs from Hobby Lonny. I have also used the standard size bulbs too. But for these large “family name” ones, they are 4”
Is it possible to add glitter to paint then fill ball? Then, you wouldn't have to use so much glitter.
Sandy Seas I have not tried it that way. But in actuality you don’t use a whole lot of glitter. Once the glitter coats the acrylic, the excess will come out of the ball when you dump it out. I reuse that glitter for the next ornament!

Your ornaments came out nice
Jackie Antunez I found the font name! Lucinda Calligraphy
Stormy McCall Thank you !
wat other the cheap version' of mop n glow. can u use hairspray or glue
I used Mop and glow in this video last year and I found that it didn’t hold the glitter to the ball very well over time. So now I use Polycrylic clear gloss. You can find it at Wal-Mart in the paint section for around $8

How do u write the names
Hello! Thank you for your question! To make the letters for the names, I use a Cricuit cutting machine. There are other brands out there you can use. And the letters are permanent vinyl and just apply them to the ornament!
Do u write them ??
Jakleen Abdulmaseeh the Cricut machine cuts out the words for me and then I apply it to the ornament
Super
The camera is too close.
No, no no! not mop n glow. Eventually the glitter will fall off and you will be left with bald spots in your ornament. Use POLYCRYLIC!
Feuryus Tees yes look further down in the comments. After I made this video, I discovered this so i mentioned to use the polycrylic
Ur vedio is not fouces and hard to see
My apologies. It was my first video project and I’m an amateur ☺️
