The Centaur - look at my horse! OOAK Monster High repaint

- Hi there!
Another year and another doll figurine made for my sister's birthday!
When she was a child she just loved horse riding and her favorite horses were always the palomino ones.
So I made her a palomino centaur!
It was also a perfect opportunity to practice my sculpting skills.
Hope you will enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making this girl.
Have fun watching!

Here's the comment that you can reply to with any questions you would like me to answer in my Q&A video ^_^
What made you want to start making/customizing dolls?
What artist or style inspires you?
What’s your favourite/least favourite part about doll customization? Do you have any dolls you customized that you wish you could re-do?
Are there any collaborations you didn't want to do bc you didn't like the artist
What's your favorite animal? Sorry if this is a bit basic, but- I like animals so-
How'd you get so good atart? I understand practice, but practice doesn't always make perfect-
I love how the handprints on her hindquarters suggest that she's from a group or tribe that help paint each other before a hunt. ^u^ I also love how you always have a cat clip at the end- very cute!
Everything
is better
with cats
:)
I took it as she slaps herself to psyche herself up because she has paint on her hands 😅
This turned out amazingly well! The sculpted horse body was totally the way to go. I think you should do more centaurs. Maybe with a deer body instead to match how slender the Monster High bodies are? I'm also looking forward to more of your fairies. : 3
or an antelope doll, i think she'd be able to make something really cool with that, she likes to pick unusual animals
I’d love to see a Jackalope doll with an OMG doll body!
I started watching you after getting addicted to Dollightful and I was instantly taken with how differently you approach things vs how she does it. Your work is very different -posed vs articulated, the faceups are done differently, techniques are different, different media etc. But you both tell a story with your work and it's all art. I love what you do and how much detail goes into your art. I hope some day you can stop being so hard on yourself and your talents because you are amazing!
Thank you! Dollightful was also one of the first doll channels I stumble upon like 2-3 years ago :) And her videos gave me a lot of important information about this hobby. Her tutorials are great! :)
Maybe it’s also a way of ranking how good of a hunter they are. Or a way of identifying in case lost during the hunt
Maybe it’s also a way of ranking how good of a hunter they are. Or a way of identifying in case lost during the hunt
Omg I was just about to comment this exact thing
The fact that you painted proper horse eyes made me so happy! You always think about all the details in your projects.
Each time I see you customize dark skinned dolls I’m always so inspired and happy with the colour variation you add to the skin. So many artists make darker skin look dull but you always add colour variation in all the right places. You’ve come a long way with your customizations!
That is so awesome to hear! In Poland we don't have many really dark skinned people, so I am seeing them mostly on TV. So I am very happy to hear that I can do a justice to those pretty skin tones ^_^
The carnage! Decapitation, removal of legs and an arm, ( a boob job!) the agony and ecstasy of getting the sculpted horse armature hind to connect, this was a full epic drama! Watching everything come together was emotional and because it was for your sister, a labour of love. There's no way she doesn't love this as much as we do. There's nothing wrong with your sculpting, in my humble opinion, it's bloody marvellous 😀 Best birthday gift ever.
XD Thank you so much :D My projects can be pretty dramatic for me, yes they can XD
never clicked a youtube notification faster
Exactly
Same, I looove centaur dolls!
Each and every doll you get more and more creative and I'm always just in love with how amazing your dolls turn out!
The horse body turned out absolutely AMAZING! Your sculpting is really wonderful! I love the pose that you chose and I think this is by far my favorite centaur doll/figurine I have seen!
Really lovely work and I hope your sister absolutely loved her!
Thank you so much! I really hope to make more centaurs in the future ^_^
Not only more creative, she manages to find more and more detailed with each new piece as well! It's truly astounding! I love that she reroots the hair. Everyone else just makes a wig. Wigs are not any easier and they don't save time. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't just go the reroot route.
I love this one! It's so creative, and you're very talented! The face up was my favorite part hi just because of the pattern on the face and the gorgeous eyes! I love your creations!❤️❤️❤️
You're sculpting abilities are fantastic! I'm a veterinary technician by trade and you nailed that body composition! I would love to be able to show one of your Creations in my home it would be epic!
So happy to hear that!
Some things I noticed/loved about your video:
1. I love your long nails! I’m jealous
2. Your centaur turned out so beautiful! I wish we could of seen your sisters reaction to her birthday gift
3. Watching you mix kitty litter and glue is always so satisfying
4. I love your doll face ups! Shrinking the head always looks 10 times better
5. I’m really glad I subscribed to your channel! Watching you work is relaxing and you have a soothing voice
6. I always look forward to see what your cats are up to at the end of your videos!
Keep up the good work! ❤️
Thank you and I am always happy to hear from my cats fan! :D
Kitty litter mixture was a weird idea... but it, literally and figuratively speaking, sticks :P
Head shrinking rules!
She could've just use the already done horse body.
That's whatI love about her videos, she looks forward to a good challenge all the time.
Keep you're great work up!!!👍
:D Thank you so much!
She came out so amazing! I love the dynamic pose and the war paint, she looks like a Celtic warrior princess. According to the Romans, the Celtic warrior women were fearless, and went into battle bare-chested to intimidate men. Hard to say how much of that is true, and how much is Roman propaganda, but it makes for a very powerful and dramatic image.
You always amazed me. Your dolls just look like they belong in a collector piece. They always look so stunning and beautiful. And then the props and sculpting sooo good! Thanks for sharing.
Also thank god that MHD when u sand them they don't lose the color, imagine getting the perfect color and then sand it and is off.
Then - there's the paint :)
She turned out so gorgeous! I never liked centaurs as a kid (I guess they seemed to bulky compared to fairies and all), but as I've grown I've come to love them! I was completely amazed at how beautiful her horse part came out! I hope your sister loved her!
I hope that too ^_^ She said she does :P
I am always flabbergasted by the sheer amount of talent for this being technically the first big sculpting project. The taur end looked perfect in proportion imo. You did a wonderful job.
Thank you!
Oh, my, she turned out so beautiful. I love her war paint and for your very first time, I think the horse body turned out pretty dang accurate. The only thing I would've done differently is placing her tail behind her similar to her hair, instead of in-between her legs, since it covers the right back leg a little, but that's just a personal preference of mine. I'm sure your sister will love her birthday gift 💕🎂🎁
Also, I just love those little unrelated clips you always put in the end! I always stick around to see them ^^
Thank you :)
The placement of the tail I based on an idea that she is about to land on her four legs and stopped to freely trow the spear (I thought it could be hard to take a good swing while galloping and looking backward :P). And even if her movement is suddenly stopping - just like in a car when you pull on the breaks - her hair and tail are still moving forward. That was the idea :P But as I said - I was experimenting a little :P

You're right about that. I didn't consider that even when you come to a sudden stop, your hair's/clothe's/bag's, etc. momentum doesn't stop 🤔
Now it makes sense 😂👍🏻
😆I'm always so happy when your newest creation pops up in my alerts!
She looks beautiful 🥰
A question for the QnA: Whatever happened to your dentistry schooling? Do you work as a dentist, or did you not follow that path?
As always I love your beautiful creativity, no matter what you may think. I'm soo happy that your channel is growing, it really reflects your skill and creative ability!!
She has a pinned comment now, incase you didn't know! You might’ve already, but incase you didn't and you want to give her the question, it is there! :D (I really liked your question and I'd love to see her answer, so I just felt like I should let you know again, well if you knew already, sorry!!)
@@steve_kyrad155 Thanks for letting me know, when I posted the question there wasn't a pinned comment.
Thanks for letting me know!!
@@icychickennugg2204 Anytime!
she looks AMAZING!!!😍 i'm really imprested by your sculpting and her proportions look way better then with an other toy hybrid most people do (my opinion 😅).
This centaur doll is so beautiful I am speechless! It turned out incredible! I'm also really impressed with how you were just so open to facing the challenges in front of you. Like how you embraced them instead of taking the easy way out. That's very admirable! You did such an amazing job! She's a beautiful doll!
as a horseback rider, i always appreciate centaurs because horses are an underrated animal. i love how you were inspired so much on actual horses :)
Right? Horses are so beautiful, it's a shame that they don't get as much appreciation.
Your attention detail and sculpting skills just amaze me! She is so fiercely beautiful!
You should make a cyborg doll with another Robecka Steam Monster High doll(if you have another one)
I am really delighted with today's video, especially because I feel important to belong to this channel, where all the works of art that are made have their degree of difficulty, that makes them clearly unique.
Without a doubt, this is one of my favorite videos on the channel because of the decision you made to make the body of the horse by yourself, that is without a doubt to be admired.
I am really in love with this creation and above all, with this channel 💖✨💖✨💖✨
I liked Horseback riding ever since I was little my dad has a friend who owns a stable with a couple of horses I go there sometimes and ride some but I stopped going there as I grew up because I’d always be the only girl there and they’re all grown man and it’s always awkward because I can’t ride the horse
unsupervised since I was little so after an hour or something of me riding then i have to sit and just be quiet so my dad can talk to his friends and smoke I kinda miss it🥲
Edit: I miss horseback riding not the awkwardness😅
First off I want to say again that you're a HUGE inspiration for me! I'll always love doll customizers that make the end product more of a figure than a doll, and you're my fave!
I'd like to ask if you ever had problems finding products for doll customizing in your country (In my country it can be really hard and expensive to find the ones most people use) and if you have some tips for us
The only things I can't get in my country are Angelina/fantasy film (the iridescent foil for fairy wings) and any natural fibers for dolls hair (like alpaca for example).
As for the tips.... My mind is blank :D That is just too big of a question :P Just keep practice and don't give up if you really want to be good at something in the future :)
Ahahah I only had read the title and in my head this cursed melody XD "my horse is amaaazing" X'DD What have you done to me XDD
I’ve been singing it for a week now :) you’re welcome! :D
She looks amazing! Your dolls always turn out amazing!!
I wonder if you could do this, but with a Kirin body?
Awesome job, anyway!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
I love watching your visions take shape and I also thoroughly enjoy hearing about how you arrive at your decisions. I don't consider them rants by any means. Gaining insight into your creative process is a privilege. Thank you so much for sharing it. Your centaur is stunning and I hope your sister loves it.
Aaaw, thank you and you're very welcome!
This is so cool!!! The body looks amazing! So detailed! Hard to believe you've only sculpted a handful of times!
I love it! It's one of the best doll modifications I've seen and as always the pose and the realism is on point! Personally I prefer realism with dolls, and most forms of art, than cartoonish dolls. So of course I consider you one of my favorite doll customizers!
I feel the same :) I do can enjoy watching cartoonish style on some arts, but I always preferred realism or semirealism :)
Ваши работы потрясающие.
Они стали толчком для меня попробовать сделать свой первый ОАК. Результат меня не удовлетворил, но я теперь знаю в каком направлении двигаться. И ваши примеры дают вдохновение работать дальше. Успехов вам.
I mean, as someone who has taken a veterinary science class before, that is a VERY good horse sculpture, especially considering that this is your first time sculpting something. This is normally the part where I'd give out ways to "refine" what was made, but you honestly can't do that with a horse. It really depends on which horse breed you were aiming for. For example, if you were aiming for a Clydesdale, it would have to be very muscular and very big, where as an Arabian breed would be very thin and sleek looking, as well as having a more prominent separation curve between the horse's ribcage and pelvic area. The only real thing I would say is that I think Palomino coats might be lighter, but honestly that's a nonissue.
(and I totally agree with not wanting to cover the nipples. It feels like a lot of guidelines everywhere are punishing artists for being able to create realistic art/works for no reason other than to "protect younger viewers" or some other unrelated reasons.)
The connection of the wire to the bolt. Try a product called j.b. weld. It is used in home repair and could be a great option for those issues. I have never done a doll makeover and am not claiming any expertise but it was the first thing I thought of watching you struggle.
Sagittarius Approves.
You are incredibly talented. I came across your channel and shared it with my friends we all subscribed. I was wondering if you ever thought of doing a Medusa style figurine? Id love to see how that would turn out.
I saw another doll in your head shrinking jar so is that doll is for the video we're getting next ? Cause I'm getting really excited from now and the doll really turned out great it was sooo beautiful and soo realistic 🥰🤩😍
I hope you get 100k subscribers!!!😆😁😁😁😁😁
I think the sculpted body looks more slim, it matches the thin doll more, the MH centaur it's too sturdy
I would like to see you do a native American doll that would be beautiful blessings sister
Big props using morgan as a refrence! She's an awesome artist!
I've been obssessed with horses for as long as I can remember! So, I clicked super fast when I saw the title LOL
I really like this project! She looks sooo cool!
I think it would be really cool to see you do a spider theme, maybe kind of like the centaur or one of your fairies
i feel like the horse couldve been less realistically proportioned just considering how extremely slender and bendy monster high torsos are, cause that sure is a horse alright
I LOVE how challenging your doll's are! Always a pleasure to see the development 🙌
I love her!! Please make more of these fantasy creatures ♥♥♥♥
You’re one of my favorite doll creators! You do amazing work!
Oh my you've surpassed yourself this time. She's amazing. Well done on the horse it's brilliant. Everything just goes together.xx
Howabout azombie deer for fall season🤔🤔
She is perfect! I used to love Palamino horses too when I was little. I never fail to be impressed with your skill and creativity. Beautiful as always. xxxx

she looks so lovely! absolutely love the spear and the underground of the stand, both look super cool!
I think this is the best doll you’ve ever made!!! And definitely one of best dolls I’ve ever seen🤯😱I love her soo much🥰🥰You did an absolutely amazing job🤩🥳🥳🤩
Thank you so much!
She is stunning! No challenge too difficult to overcome for this girl! I bet your sister is over the moon for her new figurine, I know I would be! And the kitty mystery at the end had me smiling!
Man I heard RUclips has been unsubscribing people randomly for a while now but I just realized that they unsubscribed me from your channel!! Everyone should check to make sure they are still subscribed!
Yeah... it does that sometimes for some reasons... It happened to me too with some other channels (Enchanterium for example)...
I’m sorry, first time sculpting?? No way! Your horse body came out very nicely! I love that you sculpted it yourself instead of printing one or using a monster high one. Armatures are the absolute worst part of sculpting, I’m glad that you stuck with it though!
The base looks gorgeous as well! I like it so much more than previous ones I’ve seen you do, the details are so cool!
What do you think about a turtle fairy or custom? I think you could make an incredible shell
Thank you so much :) I do feel more and more comfortable with my skills :) But there's still a lot of practice before me :)
A turtle fairy.... I don't know... but there are so many dolls to make - who knows, maybe :)
I looked at your horse, your horse is amazing. I'd give it a lick, I bet it tastes just like raisins. With one stroke of it's mane it will turn into a plane and then it turns back again when you... Nevermind.
Alternative comment:
In Centaurwooooorld!
centaurworld wasn't my fav, but "my horse is amazing" is stuck in my head for over a decade now :P
I've been customizing tabletop miniatures for ages, and I'd like to offer my little two cents to deal with those body carvings: liquid green stuff (or any other fluid epoxy putty/acrylic filler)
it's rather cheap and easy to find, basically every modeling supplier carries it.
works wonders when you have to fill small gaps or imperfections.
apply it on the sanded piece with an old brush (the smaller the better), then damp the brush to smooth it in place.
sand it lightly again after it has cured, then paint as usual.
Thank you :) I was thinking about using apoxie sculpt to filled those gaps... but maybe I will check out that liquid green stuff too!
Honestly... I kind of want to suggest challenging yourself when you next do this doll model by *not* erasing all the marks. Instead use the scars for the story of the doll. I thought you were going to go that way with a centaur doll, cool job with getting rid of those, but I'd love to see that kind of contrast of how you used it. Use it as tattoos? Paint it as battle wounds? Scarification? A mix of the two?
It's all good if it doesn't fit your art style I just had never seen those markings before. They're pretty. I've only discovered most of the monster high dolls through channels like yours. lol
PS: Because I forgot to mention, your art is *incredible* .
This is not a bad idea. But there's a "but" :P The deal with me is that I am making a design and I am picking a doll that suits the design, not the revers. Dolls are just canvas for me :) they are not a source of inspiration by themselves :P
So yeah... that would be a challenge for me XD
This is my favorite so far! I'm always amazed and inspired by your creations.
I have a suggestion for a good source of gaining knowledge in sculpting on armatures; go watch some videos by a youtuber called “North of the Border” every video of his involves sculpting figures on armatures, he’s a master at it and I’ve learned quite a lot from his content, your centaur’s Horse booty is really really well done, but if you’d like to get even better, watching some of North of the Border’s videos is my advice lol
(Great customisation btw)
Oh, I’ve been watching Adam’s creations for over a year now :) I really like his commentary and find his videos both educational and entertaining ^_^
@@CatmeleonStudio oh yey!! Yeah, he is extremely funny and you’re just as talented as he is :D
@@immagical7036 That is a big compliment! Thank you ^_^
@@CatmeleonStudio you’re welcome!! Can’t wait to see what you do next :3
Oh Wow!..I wish I was not as skilled at sculpting as you are. She looks Exquisite on her own and the sculpting is superb. I have seen the others done from the ready made centaurs in these dolls ,but they do not look as proportional as yours does. This is so beautifully sculpted right down to the hooves.I love the choice of hair, much nicer than the first choice. But what I think I love the most about your dolls is that they are more of a figurine rather than just a doll . They are all very special and a beautiful piece of art work too.🥰
So true
I love 15:17 where it looks like a raw chicken
Why don't you make a video making a doll with ideas from your subscribers?
I'm always making them in April :) Last year I made a Bone Fairy and this year - a Bumblebee Fairy. My subscribers are very creative and they are suggesting a lot of ideas. The thing is - I have tons of ideas of my own and those are the ones I really want to make and share with you. My schedule is like 6months long... and those are only the concepts that I already have a finished design for and for which I already started the dolls preparations :D And there are way more of those that I know I really want to make but don't have a specific design or doll yet :P
Maybe one day, for some celebration, I will make a survey or something, or, like someone suggested: a design challenge (I've seen Poppen Atelier made something like this). We will see what future will bring :)
Have you thought of doing a centor sceries to use up the dolls with the carvings with different poses and coatpatterns? Just a thought. It looks great by the way.
I honestly haven't thought about that :P
Who insperd you to costomzis dolls
"My horse is amazing!" Immediately liked at least because of the reference to this song.
One of the best things in the internet XD
"I'm gonna make a four-legged doll BUT she'll only be standing on ONE leg!"
That's me alright.
U r so stick stanking awsome at what u do. she is a beaut.
odd request but can u make a beefy gal? it always kind of bothered me that traditional female dolls are dainty and smol. can u create a warrior fairy with a muscular build?
I was always drown to the slim silhouettes. I preferred it on my paintings, my photographs etc. Probably because I always wanted to be so slim and dainty myself XD (I am more on the "short and solid" lower part type :P)
But I will never say never to a more muscular type of girl in the future. I can definitely appreciate that type of woman's body, so maybe one day I will come up with a proper concept for that :)
Idea for the centaur doll, a horse fly fairy. It could be dark as they drink blood 😈
Or a blucifer. Or a nuckelavee
For 100 k please make a catmeleon 😍
Can you do a wolf one or a cat one pls?
when you pronounced the name of your channel it was the first time i realized it wasnt CAT MELON
I hoped that the logo and the intro will help figure out the actual name :D
Lol 15:12 looks like turkey 😂😂
Wow, I have been in this channel for a while now and I really don't get tired of your style, your crazy techniques and bravery when tackling your proyects. It takes guts not to take the easy routes and it's great to see you take every opportunity you have to learn something new! Hats off to you, mad lass! Regarding sculpting, this was a very good first try! Next time you can have an additional reference with the muscles of the creature you're trying to sculpt, it is easier to capture the subtle natural bumps in a body when you know where they come from. I look forward to the 100k subs video! Let's go!

Oh this turned out so wonderfully. I love the body painting and the face is one of my favorites. The accessories just finished it off so well, your details are always perfect. I hope your sister loves her!
Thank you! She did ^_^ She straight away said: "Oh! Palomino's my favorite!" :D So glad that I remembered this correctly XD
nothing makes me happier then the cat cameos after each video

Oh my Sorcery she's Beautifully Gorgeous!!! Your sister is going to love her Happy B-day for her, I love all kinds of horse's especially their little ones but my number 1 horse bread is
Gypsy Vanner I love how they have a little bit of Clydesdale feathers and their Rapunzel mane & tail. Maybe you can save the reject hair for another doll project,
If you or I ever made a Centaur with Gypsy Vanner mane & tail I give her armor from Centaurworld main character Horse.
I'll call this lovely Centaur Kamali (means Spirit Guide)
Kamali, Born on the month of June from a strong & proud village with luscious green's, great farms that no hot summer or coldest winter's can bring these Centaur's down not even any hunter's could find one.
One day a child got lost in the woods trying to find her way back home till she encounter Kamila, now Kamila is a proud hunter like her father but she is also helpful as a spirit guide like her mother
Kamila knew this human was no threat so she kindly help the child find her way back home. As soon as the reach she tells the young human.
This is as far as I can take you young one, follow the stream and it will lead you to your family. The child never saw Kamila again but she knew in her heart she was her spirit guide.
As soon as she returned to her family every night she looked to the sky thinking of her spirit guide Kamila wondering if they will meet again.
I wonder if there will be a Kelpie or a Pegasus in your next video. See you on your next video Catmeleon Studio. :D
Thank you so much for all your nice words and the lovely, as always, story ^_^ There will definitely be more half horses on my channel ^_^

Absolutely stunning. You make sculpting look so easy. Incredible!
The first couple of times you showed the rear end of the horse part, I was thinking to myself, "She really didn't need to include that anatomical detail."
Then I realized that was just the hole you were going to use to mount the tail. 😑
I might be an idiot.
It must felt really inappropriate when I stuck the tail in it XD

Give yourself credit!!! The horse came out spectacular!!! The doll is beautiful!!!
what i truly love the most about your channel is the way you record the entirety of your artistic process and all the things you try and learn. seeing your videos for the first time a year ago made me start making miniatures which is something i had always wanted to do and your videos really made me feel like i could try it and not worry about being bad because how else can you learn without trying stuff first. i’m still making miniatures now and i’m definitely getting better but also still learning and i couldn’t be happier! thank you for helping me find the confidence to try things that i enjoy without the worry of “not being good enough at it” to love it :)))
