Analytics were just starting to make it to hoops back then, and somebody must have pointed out that 60% from midrange is fewer points than 45% from beyond the arc.
Thanks so much 🙏🏼 steph shoots differently in his early career. He holds the ball a tad bit longer in his shot, and shoots more mid-ranges than now. He does more floaters than middy now in his game! His three point technique has mature to its peak, pushing the ball at ease almost leaving right after he lifts
@@jcarnedo6806 I know the stats and I still think curry was the better rookie. Curry averaged 17 pts, 6 asts, 4rebs, & 2 stls. With a 46 fg%, 43 3fg%, & 88 ft%. He ranked seventh in the league (not among rookies) in 3fg% for the season. Curry set the then NBA record for most 3-pointers made by a rookie in a season with 166. Curry also had 8 games where he scored 30 or more points. So yes I believe he was the better rookie. Also I believe his 2 stls ranked 3rd in the league
If Curry wouldn't survive if he played in the 90s as some hardcore 90s fanatic would say, then does that mean 2009 was a weak era as well? Because it seems like a young Steph did well during that season.
The one thing that jumps out about this: so many defenders failing to stay attached to him. Why would you go under a screen on someone like this? I understand he's a 21 year old kid but he has always shot the ball well. That's the last thing you want to do defensively.
@10:37 Houston and Chicago fans can get their only chance of seeing Curry wearing their colors. BTW why were the Warriors wearing all red unis? Terrible idea.
@@gokusupersaiyan3inreallife937 Every great player in nba history got that team he just dominates and destroy. For Jordan it was the Cavs, for Lebron its the Raptors, for Curry its Portland lol
fun to see how he went from shooting mid range shots and layups to fast catchnshoot threes in months
Just got more comfortable n started to let it fly, his coach probably gave him the green light. He was shooting deep threes in college
He had to get his progression points and badges 😅

Old but gold
Love it bacon 🥓 lol
Stephen Curry was impressive from the beginning of his famed NBA career!
Steph rookie year cooks Horford when he was in ATL, and now in Boston for a chip.
The late glory of GSW is so much sweeter to someone who remember their early struggles...
I'm going to need to review Tyreke Evans rookie year I don't know how he beat out Steph?
2:10 curry doing it to perkins before and after his retirement
The reason Perkins hated Curry is because the former can only shoot with his mouth.
Til this day I still can’t believe Tyreke Evans won r.o.y over Curry
Check the stats for both tyreke and curry on their rookie year and you will know why tyreke won ROY.
