Because in the WSL world, women and men get treated equally, hence half the women surfers vs men allowed on tour. Another way WSL really shows their commitment to equal time for both sexes.

Because of the numbers of views. Look at the Margaret River finals replays. Mens final is 130k while the women's has 10k. Until there are more women's fans there won't be equal numbers.

they postpone the Shiseido Tahiti pro surf competition in Teahupoo until Saturday to increase the numbers 💲🎰: the number of people who will be more numerous at fenua🇵🇫🇲🇫to follow the 1st on Polynesia TV on the weekend, increase the number of days @WSL teams to stay here in teahupoo guesthouses, for commercial reasons 🫰💶💵....
