Well, its exactly the model of Romania. Membership of the EU brings visible improvements in minimum 15 years of membership. Brain drain is an inevitable side effect, in a common market the people with high skills gravitate towards the better paying economies.
EU membership doesn't just facilitate the movement of people, but also of goods and services. There would be no longer 100 different forms and fees to pay at the customs in order to conduct business with other EU nations. That is time and money that makes conducting business from Albania less efficient because it is time consuming and requires staff that does specifically that and expensive.
So sad for my country is so beautiful we can live with only with tourism but our government courts, all the national services is so corrupt you can't do nothing 💔 to find your right just to immigrate to eu countries
We need to diversify and offer other services and produce high value goods. We can't live only with tourism. Look how Greece ended up and how the number of tourists was reduced during 2020 because of COVID. From 6 million foreigners that entered Albania in 2019, only 2 million entered in 2020. That was a 65% reduction in just one year.
Brain drain is good. People should not be forced to live where their talents are not rewarded. And by reward I don't just mean the financial kind. I used to live in a corrupt country where people's bad behaviours made life difficult - from parties with loud music late night while I had to wake up early for work and the police saying it would not intervene because "there were more important occurences to pay attention to" to the lack of career opportunities due to the fact that it doesn't matter how capable you are but instead how loyal you are to those in power. I left that forever damned land for a better life in a more socially advanced and democratic society. Brain drain is my sweet vengeance.
