I've honestly missed these. I love them so much and it's just so chilled.
I was exactly the same throughout uni and was un-confident to put my hand up and participate until my second year. What helped for me was telling myself 'these people are in the same boat, they aren't going to judge you. After this hour or two hours were out this room' - repeating that to myself helped with my anxiety and I would contribute more. As scary as it was for me to put my hand up I had a greater feeling as I walked out the room knowing I spoke and said my opinion. You'll get there Laura :)

Having moved around a lot as a kid (changing countries and schools around every 4 years), I can say the thing that works best for me is keeping in touch as best you can. The world is vast and beautiful - its not worth getting attached to just a place or two, because you risk missing out on the rest of its wonder; but human connection is irreplaceable, so even if it means an 8 hour bus ride up the country, or a flight over seas - find the time and resources to meet up - because nothing is more important than the people in your life :)

Very late to this, but a tip from me is to explore your new home. Act like a tourist! For me, "home" is somewhere I know really, really well, so when I moved to my new city I explored everything - the main places, tourist places, the back streets, everything! I actually know it better than a friend who lives 45 minutes away. It makes me feel more comfortable and safer. :)

I get that thing of feeling anxious if I don't have something playing in the background. I don't have a minute of the day where I am not listening/watching something on youtube/a podcast or something.... It makes your life go far too quickly, which is so sad but I can't just sit in silence

Edit: You probably realised this but the only way to engage more and more confidently is to do it more frequently. I know this sounds obvious but it really helps! To talk or do things outside of your comfort zone is quite important. I hope it helps!

Right - I actually have a rant here. I understand all about the movement to gain women's rights, and have massive respect for the women, however I can't express enough how much I hate people saying 'you have to vote especially if you're a woman'. Just because women had to fight for my right to vote, does not mean I have more of an obligation than men - it's just another example of sexism - just because men didn't have to fight and suffer to get their vote, doesn't mean they have less of a responsibility. Everyone has a massive responsibly to vote - no more so if you're a woman, and no less so if you're a man. (btw this is no dig at you Laura, I love your videos & opinions, its just a general rant).
millie jane I totally understand where you're coming from, however I do believe that because we had to fight so hard for the vote that women should out of respect for the people that died to give us that right, of course men should vote as well and I encourage everyone to, however I do think that because of what it cost, women should perhaps if they're on the fence about voting, think about how lucky they are that another generation did so much to give us the right we deserve
