Just bought 4 of these to go into an Isobarik arrangement in a couple of bookshelves (2 in each). Didn't realise this video existed, but so glad I got them now! xD. Can't wait to build them :D

The designer series is pretty good for the price, if the specs hold up. All Dayton drivers I have tested do hold up to published specs except one I bought. It was the DC130A.

You can experiment with different Frame Rates to try and get rid of the wavy thing :D
no that's impossible unless RUclips could do 120+fps. even then cameras get too dark.
+PC MR The RUclips playback frame rate has nothing to do with the recording frame rate, which is important when it comes to subwoofers. Go watch exo's video, that explains slot.

I have some 4-inch drivers that I have put on my 120w amp, the amp volume goes up to 70 and I had it on 50, the magnet never got hot and nor did the Dust cap, it was moving about 2 cm and was hitting 20 hertz. Pretty crazy little driver. Its a Drok 4 ohm 40w 4 inch speaker.

Woofer Elite it's a mid woofer, it can do mids and woofer duty too. You don't need that excursion for mids, thats for bass bro

would this make a good replacement for stock door speakers in a 2016 Corolla? I would be pairing it with a 2in upper mid. And I was wondering how big of an amp would I need to power a pair of these?

Litterally anything will make the stock corolla system sound better, the stock corolla sound is awful

1ove2Act i just did the 4" version. Tuned it 39hz ported. It sounds big, can feel it on the walls and floor. So I'd say yes the 5" is probably even better

r0llinlacs still have now idea what amp to get for a portable device, I want 2 4” or 2 5 1/4” and 2 1” tweeters
1ove2Act I'm using the TPA3116 mono version for mine but its a mono setup with 1 woofer and 1 tweeter. It's nearly perfect, just enough power for the combo with the woofer reaching close to xmax. That's at 4ohm final at 24v.
If you go with the stereo version of the TPA3116 it will have less power, woofers wont reach xmax. Unless you use 4 ohm woofers and tweeters, you can run the amps at 2ohms just fine. Otherwise I'd use two TPA3116 mono amps, not like they're expensive or anything. They're tiny as well so space wouldn't be a problem either. Just be sure to get a 12 to 24v step up coverter, it drastically cuts down distortion and nearly doubles the power output.
r0llinlacs oh ok, what about 1 amp that is 100w + 100w with 2 crossovers. So basically 50w per speaker. But if the tweeters are 40 and subs are 60 it should be fine. Unless the amp isn’t really 100w per channel. I read a bunch yesterday about crossovers and searched amps. Still have to have a box made or make it with no power tools lol. Thanks for replying btw.

I haven't had any experience with the reference series although from what I can tell you is you wont be let down with designer series woofer, thats for sure!
Generally woofers with phase plugs are better for midrange and have less bass.

you play good trap songs. microphone records bass well. listening with headphones it sounds good. I'm debating whether or not to do a pro audio subwoofer build. I know it will be louder than my conventional sub, but will it play deep enough to satisfy? I use pro audio mids and horns, and love them.

Mauriceje It just means its ported subwoofer and you are playing the frequency that the subwoofer is tuned.

Mauriceje if the sub is like 10 inches or bigger then it doesn’t have to move as much as those small subs do to create the same amount of bass, my dual 10” subs create massive amounts of bass and they don’t move a lot either but if you turn the volume up then they will move more

how good are technics amps at blowing things?
Josh Challoner It depends on how many watts does that amp have but still i don't recommend to use technics amps for blowin speakers because they are old and start to be a bit rare so it isn't good if you blow that amp.
severi lybeck i used to love technics. I miss them they were my go-to brand for receivers. But if i remember right they were a Panasonic brand

dayton audio is shit, i tried replacing Logitech z333 woofer with daytonaudio dc130bs-4 and dc130b and they were 50% less powerful. Above 50% volume they were starting distortions where logitech goes to 100% without
