Hey huge fan of you. I was wondering if you could come up with some styling tips for Indian men as you know we are diverse since we come in different colors and body types within India itself. If you could come up with exclusive content for Indian viewers
Telling people that Thursday boots don’t have “break in” requirements is an obscene. They literally tell you that you have to break them in on their website. Thursday boots are extremely uncomfortable the first few wears, you have to mold the cork to your foot
@@clintonmccool2330 I think comfort and breaking in are similar but different things. Some shoes won’t need breaking in in the traditional sense, but saying good boots don’t need to be broken in is quite the stretch.
I just realized that this channel and other channels like it aren't really for guys who work with their hands or do manual labor. This is for guys who like to put on a leather jacket and act like they're some sort of tough bad ass. Most guys I know don't really care if their boots match their belt. They don't care if their boots are too bulky. They wear them to work in and sometimes, even play in.
@user-pu2ex8br7pI want boots to fit my lifestyle and needs. I have a couple pairs of dress boots, aside from that the only boots I wear are ones that will last doing what I do. After wearing secondhand Fryes and Red Wings, Thursdays look and feel cheap. For the price, I’d rather buy used Fryes that look as good, and will last much longer.
I didn't wear the same clothes driving in my semi as I did wen I went to the bar. I wanted to be comfortable driving and I didn't care about style. When I went to the bar I wanted to look nice.
Crape sole boots. Avoid at all cost. They are a bit more comfortable than other soles usually used in boots but they definitely make you pay for this. The moment you set foot outside, they magically turn into something that looks like you wore while fighting pigs in a mud pit. They get filthy pretty quickly and irreversibly.
I've not had the best experience with my 2 pair of Thursday boots either. The first pair the speed hook tore out pretty quickly. They were replaced under warranty, but with a different model boot. On the second pair, the sole of the shoe started splitting apart at the toe early on. These boots were only worn casually and not worn rough or abused at all. I can't remember the last time I wore them. They are a bit uncomfortable for longer wear as well.
You’re 100% correct. The crepe soles were not meant outside desert terrain. The original Clarks desert boots are perfect examples. The second and third version soles are sturdier.
@@miyagi1775 Very true. They were originally made for the British army North Africa corps during WW II. For that they are perfect...for dirt we have in more temperate climates, not so much.
@@ivareskesner2019 You are 💯 correct again, the desert boots didn’t do well, in Burma, neither. Again, they were called “desert boots” for a reason. I love Clarks chukkas, I have all 3 versions, I don’t wear the original, with the crepe soles anymore, although I still have it. I was thinking about getting them re-soled, but it won’t be “ original” anymore.
@@miyagi1775 I learned the hard way by getting a pair of All Saints suede boots. The fact that crape soles were this difficult and had these dirt absorption characteristics wasn't something I even considered. They are incredibly comfortable and look great...until you set foot outside. Then you get home and realise that absolutely anything and everything sticks to them. You end up dragging half the neighbourhood back home on your soles. Dirt, sticks, grease, grass, hairs, the kitchen sink your neighbour threw out, it all sticks. And there's no way to get it out and off without taking off a layer. Those things are diabolical 😅
I’m gonna say firm disagree with the breaking in boots. I have a pair of western style black Ariat boots that had to be broken in but once I broke them in they’re the most comfortable and stylish boots I own. You can wear them for work, since they’re black they pass for dress boots. Extremely versatile and comfortable.
thanks for the vid Alpha!! i’ve been going towards more timeless route with leather shoes and sneakers. was wondering if you could do a video on jeans and pants!! i’ve been wearing chinos to work for the longest time and i wanna change things up
I have a boot story: This is getting on for twenty years ago. Times were hard. I had a lot of problems, winter was coming on and I needed boots. I looked around for something to just last me through the bad weather, figuring I wouldn't get much more for the money I had available. I found some that were dirt cheap and fitted strangely well. I have quite large feet, usually wearing a UK12 with thick socks. They cost £14.99, a ridiculously low figure. Quite high, water resistant and lots of ankle support. "Not bad", I thought, "these will see me to spring." They lasted me seven years (!!!), and even then they didn't exactly wear out. I had an accident in which the sole of one of them got torn rendering them unserviceable. Now, whenever I put on boots I go through an abbreviated mourning process for the best boots I ever had. I would have gotten multiple pairs but I didn't have the means and the supply had dried up anyway. You don't always get what you pay for and sometimes you get real lucky when you need it. A story with marginal relevance, but I don't care. They were good boots.
Thursday Boots are amazing. I have a pair of the Legends in matte black finish. Perfect during the fall and winter months. I am looking into getting a pair of the Hero boots in matte black and a pair of the Cavalier in Sandstone. While the boots are a bit pricey the quality and comfort is well worth it.
Yo Alpha! Great video! I actually have the suede Chukka that you demonstrated with. When I wear it, I wear a belt that matches the sole of the shoe. Matching with the dark brown instead of the lighter suede (I feel) adds a different element that I’ve received a lot of compliments on. Plus it’s still within the color palette so it doesn’t look off. Hope this helps someone, took me a while to figure it out.
I LIVE in Thursday boots. Love them. But I don't know what to wear in snow or rain. Would hate to destroy the look of my Thursday boots. What do you recommend for snow or rain? Thank you.
I love Alpha, but I strongly disagree on the Saint Laurent boots, I love my Saint Laurent boots and choose them most of the time over my Crockett & Jones, Edward Green or Alden boots which are even more expensive and higher quality. The Saint Laurent Chelsea is an iconic staple, just like their L17 biker jacket. Still as always great style advice for the everyday man, thank you and keep up the amazing work. 👏🏻🙌🏻
im gonna offer yall a solid boot advice. When it comes to boots, there are better channels to watch. Alpha is doing a great job giving some newbie tips, but for more in depth view in the world of quality boots, there are better videos to watch. mentioning a few, stridewise, iron snail, rose anvil
Totally agree. Thursdays are a good entry level boot. If you aren't going to use them for work they should last you a long time. I hit the dislike so quick when he said, that good boots don't require a break in. Total BS
I’ve been wearing Thursdays for years and I love them. Customer service is great too, had a boot split from the sole within a few months and they sent me another pair plus keep the originals. I have a chelsey, a captain, and a dress shoe. Would get Thursday again any day
Lucky you, had a pair of the monk straps where the soles split right across under the ball of the foot after five months. only wore them indoors on carpet at work. They told me it was normal and I was S O L!
Good vid but don't agree with only going with a rounded toe-box. I have some super pointy Italian leather slip-ons in a western style and have gotten many compliments on them. They look great with boot cut jeans, a Henley and a velour blazer. Or when rocking a Rockabilly look.
Thanks for the link to Thursday Boots. I also own (and prefer) real leather shoes and boots but synthetic leather shoes are a good second choice. I currently have 2 pairs of synthetic leather casual boots that I bought in 2018. Except for a replacement of shoe laces, they're still wearing just fine. I also have a couple pair of faux/no leather Adidas that are still rockin' since 2015. One pair has wear on the sole tread from lots of hikes but the upper "skin" is still in good shape.
I agree Thursday is a great boot company, and they are rapidly growing in diverse styles of boots covering from work to play, formal designs but they are not comfortable straight out the box they take some breaking in . But at the end of the day, it's all about you and who you are, and what you like seeing how this is pertaining to men is about who you are as a man. I agree with one of the comments that skinny and slim fit jeans are fading out fast as they came in , thank heaven, for that😅 not , everyone is built for them. Thank heaven, the rugged look is back in. like being bald with a beard and being proud of your age had to throw that in I'm 62 😅😅😅 is never going away it's saying own who you are, love who you are, and not what someone tells who you should be and what you should buy and what you should wear. Guarantee you will be much happier being you. Live and learn my friends and discover who you are.
Who has time for all this? What’s the most versatile boot style to dress up and down and what color goes with most dress colors? I’m not a chick trying to plan outfits.
I ordered a pair of their Scout Chukka boot in Safari suede with a wedge soul, that I wear for work. I work in a shop where I'm standing on hard concrete floors, flat surfaces for hours and hours at a time, and these boots have helped so tremendously, and they look great!! My knee and hip pain on my left side has gone away since wearing these, and I'm very glad i gave Thursday boots a try!! You wont ne disappointed 👌🏼
Ive have an indestructible pair of Danner Fort Lewis, still looking great after 25 years, perfect for extreme Canadian winters, picked up a pair of Tricker's Country Stow for classy factor. Both will last a lifetime. Spend the money once.
No square toe ariats or justins? Also iv never put on a pair of boots that didnt have to be broke in, the lether is stiff so a good full day or 2 wearing them will do, also if ur getting blisters from your boots they are most likely not the right size!
Love Thursdays. My first pair were the President in saddlewood. My second were the black Titans (now called Hero) and they sent me used ones! Did not expect that especially after paying the full price! That shit pissed me off
I love my Thursday President boots. But let's be honest here, Thursday boots are stylish concrete jungle boots. I'd never wear my Thursdays on dirt. 😂 I have a pair of Georgia Boots 6" loggers for all the outdoor stuff. Very good.
I usually really appreciate Alpha’s video but this one I didn’t always agree with since he isn’t really an expert on boots. Most of his point were great but there were a few that weren’t the best.
Old Doc's were great boots, they've sadly went completely to sh** in the past few years. Many more people are opting for Solovairs these days. Worth a check out if you find your Docs degrading on you faster than normal.
6:45 I got a pair of camel suede chukka boots. I found the perfect brlt to match them with is a darker green woven belt. It doesn't match, but it compliments perfectly.
First just wanted to say how much I appreciate this channel and what you do .I used to dress with a total disregard for common sense and fashion.VERY frumpy. While i'm a bit eccentric and my style is left of centers, I now understand the value of taking care of your appearance, And being clean and presentable if not at least normal. Your videos have reminded me of the importance of style, being yourself , and that i'm awesome.. WE are awesome , my good sir. All that being said, those work boots are dope, like I wear boots like that exclusively.. If sports t v commentators can get away with wearing suits and sneakers , which I do think looks cool then this conceptually the same.
Slim/skinny fit jeans are already out in the major metropolitans like NYC, plus they are done for women everywhere. It’ll be interesting to see how Alpha changes his style once the slim/skinny fit it done across the mainstream menswear market.
Great video! And Thursday boots are awesome, I love mine! However, I have to disagree with the no break-in thing. As you get into higher quality leather boots, you get leather insoles, often layers of leather under that insole, and better quality leathers. Those are meant to mold to the shape of your foot over time and be awesomely comfortable. But they take time to break in. And that might hurt a little but getting that form fit is awesome.
What about Cowboy boots? I never see you speak of them. They have a better sole and quality. Plus they don’t have a rubber sole like Thursday boots. They are also functional and stylish.
I think it kinda sucks that placing the work boot (like a Georgia or Chippewa brand) as a “low” boot to wear casually is somewhat unfair. I find them to be super cool with their authentic leather and kick-ass style look. What turns me off about the Thursday Boots Stomper model you show on your video is that zipper on the side. I’ve never liked that look on boots since first seeing it years ago. I prefer to slide my foot into a boot and lacing it up. And I like the stomper look a logger/worker boot gives.
Working blue collar also dictates your style choices. I dislike cowboy boots but I won’t buy boots that will not hold up. Thursdays aren’t worth the money, and will quickly look terrible if not worn gently. Unfortunately, most influencers don’t cater to blue collar viewers.
@@danielcarter3429- THANK YOU for your insight! I know what you mean about influencers not catering to blue collar types. Can’t say I am blue collar, never worked in those related professions, but I’ve always liked the aesthetic of the (logger) worker boot as part of a casual ensemble similar to what you’d see the character Joey Tribiani wearing on “Friends.” I remember several casual brands years ago, like Skechers, released such a design, and seemingly, you had to snag them up quick since that design wasn’t reissued. Plus, these casual worker-type boots were more durable and cheaper than what these “boutique” brands like Thursdays may lead on. I likely won’t be buying from Thursday.
@@sfdudecaThursday are anything but Boutique. They make a quality entry level boot. You can get them resoled too which is good. But like what was stated previosuly, blue collar work is gonna destroy almost any model that Thursday boot has to offer. You're better offer getting a pair of Thorogoods, Red Wings, Jim Green, White's, or Nick's. Also, a total joke when he says that any break in time for boots means a bad boot. Literally the complete opposite
Avoid Thursday’s, their QC is a joke. Also their customer service doesn’t have idea about the correct sizing. I had to return mine twice before I got the correct size, even though Thursday’s CS was insisting that the first one is gonna be perfect. My Storm Kings started falling apart after few months, cost of re-sole is the same as the new pair
He doesn't really know what he's talking about with boots. Thursday's are mid tier boots at best, not the "best in the business" like alphaM says. "Boots should never need breaking in" cmon be real even Thursday say their boots have a break in time. "they're full of padding"... no they're not. Most boots are leather and have a cotton lining and that's it. "Boots make you 2 inches taller!" Really? Maybe he wears the tom cruise insoles in his boots, and we don't know it, otherwise boots will make you 1 inch taller like almost every other shoe
Thursdays is an excellent brand that I recommend to everyone. But... they do make my feet look big. So that's my only gripe against their product. I'm only 5'9", but have the same size feet as someone who's 6'1"... so I'm already self conscious about my feet size.

What about engineer motorcycle boots? They are great for riding.
Boots Boots Boots ❤❤❤
What about Cowboy boots? I never see you speak of them. They have a better sole and quality. Plus they don’t have a rubber sole like Thursday boots. They are also functional and stylish.
You didn't mention Doc Martin's combat boots or Timberland boots
Last year l bought the Thursday Boots worth every penny it a boots for going events, it’s not a boot for tradesmen
I always have issues with boots because my feet are wide and I have elevated instep. That’s why I don’t own any
Avoid Thursday’s, their QC is a joke.
Do any boot companies make narrow widths?
The Saint Laurent’s were the best looking boots you showed and I don’t even like suede boots
I've never liked wearing chukkas. I never feel like I get a good solid fit in them.
I wear my brahma all black leather steel toe boots..All the boots you showed look like something a whimp would wear bro
Boots and pants, boots and pants! 🐷🐷
Alpha You rules!! Saludos desde Cochabamba bolivia
This is just an extended Thursday commercial masquerading as … something else.
Dude, tone it down. I have a volume button. 🤣
Thursdays is an excellent brand that I recommend to everyone. But... they do make my feet look big. So that's my only gripe against their product. I'm only 5'9", but have the same size feet as someone who's 6'1"... so I'm already self conscious about my feet size.
do they have platform boots?
Boots give an extra 2 inch in height?? Maybe if you have those tom cruise insoles inside them 😁
I always trust the "MVMNT is better the Rolex" guy
I usually just wear my EMT boots everyone.
So basically only wear boots that my sponsor sells 😃 all others are shit
I got polo boot
Alpha, you should attend French class with Antonio.
Never say never
Anyone gettin' yourselves some Thursday snake oil?
Love how you end your videos it’s so exciting
Okay,, so footwear isn't your thing... cut the product in your hair... in half!!
