    Dear Colin,
I just discovered this great channel and would like to thank you for teaching me watercolour so beautifully! Earlier I used to struggle as I never managed to let the paper dry or layer the paint as well as you do! I just have a question though. What sort of paper do you use? I am able to stretch my paper but have struggled to keep the paint wet for as long as you do and at times end up with a tear in it. The initial stages look beautiful but the very last ones occasionally don’t come out so well. Is this the lack of pure cotton paper? Kindly reply. Thank you for teaching me so much anyway!

If the paper is tearing it might be that the papers weight is to to thin,I used 140lb Bockingford extra rough for this painting its very robust.I leave a thin film of water on the paper with a big brush after stretching it so it stays wetter longer.
