Donna and Chris Hookie's Wedding - First Dance (07.28.12)

This fantastic video clip of our First Dance on our wedding day was a surprise to both Donna and me taken by Donna's best friend's father - Richard Peterson. We did not think there were any video clips of our wedding day, because the videographer we hired never showed up.
Donna is a very accomplished professional musician, music teacher, and band leader - but up to our wedding day, had never taken a 'real' dance lesson in her life. She is a natural dancer and the "Perfect Follower". All she says to me when we first hit the dance floor while on a date is - "Tell Me My Feet" (LOL), and all I have to do is give her the 'S' and 'Q's of the dance pattern a few times at the beginning and a few times while we dance, and that's it......
The 'theme' of our Wedding Day was "Four 1st Dances, and a Punch Bowl" (a take off from the movie title "Four Weddings & a Funeral"). Donna loves when we dance "Progressive Country" to Our Song - I Need More of You by The Bellamy Brother ( that's dance #1) and loves the 4-count Hustle Swing to Marry Me by Bruno Mars ( dance #2), And I love the song "Dance Me To the End Of Love" by Leonard Cohen (which is the song that first caught Donna's attention and interest in me, because she has a beautiful framed picture of a dancing couple - dancing in the rain under an umbrella called "Dance Me To The End Of Love") hanging in her hallway - to which we danced a Westchester Foxtrot to (#3) and finally, I always wanted to dance a beautiful Viennese Waltz at my wedding and fell in love with the version of our actual "First" 1st dance song "Night Of My Nights" from Kismet (#4). The full length of the song is 5:31 and was able to edit the song to add my 'voice over intro' for the beginning of the song, edit out the 'slow' middle section of the song, and conclude with the beautiful Vocal Viennese dance portion of the song.

Sadly, we were not very impressed with the DJ we hired as you can hear and see in the video. He messed up the cueing up of the song at the beginning and did not stop the song at the end. He also did not have dance floor lighting, so I lent him mine - and had to remind him to 'turn on' the dance lights while in the middle of dancing our 1st dance (Jeeezzzzzze)..
The only challenge I ended up having was - - Donna's "beautiful" wedding dress.... she would not tell me anything about it before hand and I had no clue what to expect for our actual 1st dance... until "Show Time".... she did not have her train bustled up, but had it attached to her wrist which kept her hand free, but limited her arm movements and my creativity on the dance floor... But all went well as you can see in the video, and Donna looked soooooo dog gone beautiful. All I had to do was - - - - - - tell her her feet...
