  • Special thanks to the "Volunteer" line dancers of the Movin' On Line Dance class in Glastonbury, CT who after 'just' learning these two dances and then practicing the dances along with the transition - in the creation of this video.
If you ask most line dancers about the dance - "Traveling Four Corners", the majority will say that it is a "circle" dance. Then ask them why give a "Circle" dance a "Line Dance" name - Traveling Four "Corners", and most would not have an answer. The reason being, is that the "Circle" dance is actually a 'variation' of the original 4 wall "Line" dance. The circle dance variation is very popular, while the original line dance version is quickly slipping away into obscurity.
At the time/date of this video's posting, and after an exhaustive search on RUclips, there are quite a few demo and instructional videos of the circle dance, but "no" posted videos showing the original (1970's) version of the "Travelin' Four Corners" line dance and/or Partner line dance variation.
The purpose of this video is to show preserve/document the original 4 wall line dance version of Traveling/Travelin' Four Corners and several of it's variations. Such as - Partner Line Dance, individual Circle Dance, and Circle Partner Dance.
Two of the traditional songs both dances were performed to are the following:
    Slow
Rodney Crowell - Stars On the Water (32 MPM / 128 BPM)
    Fast
Johnny Lee - Cherokee Fiddle (38 MPM / 152 BPM) (*Preferred version)
Michael Martin Murphy - Cherokee Fiddle (37 MPM / 150 BPM)
