I have severely sloping HF hearing loss and am getting ReSound Nexia because it does well with Background noise. I can get the 5 for $240 or the 7 for $1040. The 9 is $2000 and too much for me right now. I want to go with the 5, but feel I might regret not going to the 7. My insurance allows upgrade every 36 months. I don’t know what to do!! Thank you for your reviews and videos, they have been helpful and interesting.
well if you go to costco and get the enhance pro 20, those are the same EXACT hearing aids as the Nexia 9. If thats not an option, go with the 7 if you can manage it.
Very informative video. Using the software makes more sense now after viewing the original video you did. I learned the your tip of lowering the volume of one ear when in a car, with someone. I hadn't thought of that! I've noticed that just by lowering the volume of both ears by about two clicks helps in a lot of situations to eliminate buzzing. I'm not sure if the Costco fitter set the volume too high but lowering it manually helps a lot.
I can only imagine you get questions like this all the time. But, I have been following you for a while now and respect your opinions. Im a 76 year old that has been having hearing problems most of my adult life. My latest test indicated that i have severe loss especially in high frequency. I would like to know what your location is. I don't have a Costco near me so traveling isn't a major problem, within some reason. Lately I have been getting very irritated because I'm unable to hear very well. Also I'm limited to a fixed income. I understand that you are a very busy person and if you can't respond, I understand. Thank you. Ps. Your daughter is very beautiful and don't let her youth get away. She's going to grow up faster than you can imagine.
Hi Brian. Thanks for the videos. Here's what I'm most interested in knowing right now. What settings don't I touch in the fitting software if I don't want to upset my Costco fitter? I'm thinking specifically about not destroying the work he's done in doing REM and following best practice. Also, by saving a session... does that mean if I make some humungous mistake down the track I can go back to that session to recover? Hope that makes sense. Maybe a subject for a future video?
when you first load up the hearing aids from your fitter, save that session without making any changes so you can ALWAYS go back to the way they set it. If they ever mention anything about settings being changed, just tell em you have no idea what they're talking about lol. But no, you should be ok. Any changes to the frequency specific gain will move you away from the REM settings. Any of the advanced features should be ok.
@@HearingClub Thanks Brian. That's basically what I've done. I also copy the General program to the spare slot and make my changes there. My fitter's cool with it.
Could you tell me a way for you to get me the link to the software to download. I am very interested in having this access. As well where to buy the device.
After several disappointing encounters with my distant Costco Hearing Center can I send my KS10.0 aids to you to be reset, please? I just want them to be set to the flat response so I can wear them again. The testing result constantly boosts the high frequencies WAYYY to much for my comfort. Now the fidelity of the streaming signal has had all the bass frequencies removed and the highs boosted to distortion in one ear. Is it possible that all four testing booths at the Costco I use have poor calibration of the testing equipment?
Brian, I am on day three of my Costco Jabra GN left side only hearing aid. My phone is a basic android and does the basic connectivity OK but will not stream or receive phone calls. I don't have Bluetoot LE yet. I notice that my software only has two filters, “All Around” and “Hear in Noise”. I think there are two other filters missing. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I am only using one hearing aid? Thanks.
No sir, the other available “programs” have not been added but they can if you ask your fitter. The other 2 options would be outdoor and music, both of which I don’t personally use and I don’t think they are necessary myself, they just don’t do much but if you want them, just ask 😊
@@HearingClub I had "music" (hi-fi) added to my Philips and am assuming it's just the real ear setting without any speech programming. I find it useful when walking outside or anytime there is no speech going on. I wonder why you don't think the music and outdoor options are necessary and don't do much? Costco added only "general" and "noise" when I was originally fitted and I has to ask later for the hi-fi setting. Also, I wrote to get the link for the programming software but haven't hear back where to get it. There seems to be a paid version but nothing I Googled for DIY was found
You are a godsend to us newbies! I have a new Philips 9040 from Costco. My audiologist is amazing and was very interested in following you ❤️
thank you so much!

I'm enjoying your videos but right now your website is dead. I have the Philips 9040 and am interested in customizing its features. Thank you.
ya im working on the website, thank you for the update though! And glad you enjoy the vidoes!
Nice philips 9040 hearing aid i have sonic radiant
Great video! Is this your #1 choice for Costco hearing aides in noisy environments? I know Jabra was #1 on your list.
No, I think Jabra has the best noise reduction right now. This is based off my patients feedback and experiences and my own as well
Tell us how to do this with the KS10 please! ❤ What if you don’t have a computer?
I can do that! With no computer, you will need to have your aids programmed by a professional.
I'm impressed!
Well thank you sir! What are you impressed with, the Philips fitting software and hearing aids or just the video in general?

Any update on when the Philips 9050 will be available at Costco?
