This is surely a rare peek into the private life of one of the giants in the personal development field. I had the pleasure of being given that same tour while visiting his home several years ago. It was a night I'll never forget. Charlie was the best.
Charlie also liked to give away books. Not from his personal collection but many others. Last time I saw him was in 1982 and I had to ask him to stop giving me so many books as I couldn't fit anymore in my car. A true amazing man. He inspired so many of us. Good Bless him.
HI James, you know what, he truly was! That was part of his appeal. He never lost his sense of joy and wonderment and love of learning. Thank you for that insight!
wow thats rude. so what. this man grew up pre internet. everyone that is woke today has internet like you do. oh im from the future this man that was born in the past an had no acess to the same info is an idiot, no sir you are not educated on how the world is yourself. this man has way more life experience than you do also/
His books are not interesting. Its mostly about war, presidents, schoolbooks, modern books (1950s to 1990s) and no DJ books. Most of his 1800s / 1900s books are in bad condition. What a complete waste of money and time to read books about war.
War is a part of history and reading about the mistakes and triumphs of history teaches us how to have a better future. Just out of curiosity, what type of reading do you not consider a "waste of time"?

He sure loved his books! He would tell people he was "pusher" so people would get hooked on books :-)
I am curious where those books now and whom they were given to.
Hi Lily, my father entered Heaven in Oct 2008. We donated a huge portion of his books to libraries and other organizations that he loved.

Your judgment of his reading choices puts YOUR ignorance on full display.
