    Even tho I was rooting for Dustin
    There is something uncanny about seeing Dan carried out on a stretcher, the guy has been through some nasty fights man
    People often forget how brutal these injuries are

    Wouldn't exactly call Dan "the new guy" he'd already been in the UFC for like 6 or 7 years at that point and prob had about 15 fights and fought a bunch of legends like Edson Barboza, Jim Miller, and Paul Felder.

    Poirier is my favorite fighter and this was the fight that made me a fan of his. Dan is working his way back up and I would love to see a rematch when the time is right.

    That's was a crazy fight especially being in the Apex you could hear the punches, Dan nearly had Dustin at the end of the second round but both guys put on a great fight!

    I like Poriers mentality, if he loses he knows he’ll have to take a bigger risk in opponent for the next fight not a safer choice, luckily for him it’s paid off.

      Dan didn't knock him out though, he emptied the tank too late in rd2 and then Poirier put it in him for the next 3 rounds.

    Dustin himself said that he was saved by the bell after Dan’s knees at the end of round two (I think). Dan fought like a warrior and showed us his heart. The diamond did so as well, I’m a fan of both.

    So Hooker was not the new guy, he had been in the UFC for a while like 6 or 7 years before that fight. New guy versus veteran but they are basically the same age 1989 1990. They both have around the same amount of fights. Dustin got 40 and hooker for 36 and that is at this point in time. They both have had 7 fights since.

    8:00 it frustrates me so much that people don’t realize that the term, Master Chief, is John’s rank. It’s not a nickname that he was given or something. It’s a real rank in the military. Just how Johnson gets called Sarge. Most of the time you go by your rank in the military and if your lucky by your last name and if your unlucky by a nickname some angry Staff Sarge gave you.

    Hooker took a beating. But that was the most competitive fight iv ever seen. Porier was taking nasty combos from hooker in round 2. Not to many fighters would have made it through the 2nd round against either fighter. So while nothing you said is wrong , it’s kinda misleading

    Let’s be fair here.. this was one of the greatest fights ever. If Dan gets going just a tick earlier or if the 2nd round extends by just another 5-10 seconds, Dan Hooker stops Dustin Poirier.. the last 45 seconds of that round are by far the most fun 45 seconds of fighting you can watch in any UFC fight ever.. so I guess at the same time you could say for Dustin to come back from the brink at the end of that 2nd round to win the fight does prove what an unstoppable force he is.
    I hate to see the trajectory Dan’s career has taken since then, & I only hope Dustin leaves the game gracefully & we never have to see him leave unrecognizable.

    I like both and didn't care who won that fight. But I remember it was during Covid. And you could hear all them punches they were throwing and landing. Dan took some hard punches that night so did Dustin.
