2019 North Carolina All District/All State Mallet Solo- Grades 11-12. Telemann Sonatina for Violin

Here is the 2019 NC All District/All State Mallet Solo The solo is for grades 11-12. It is a Telemann Sonatina for Violin arranged for mallet instruments by Thomas McMillan from the book Masterpieces For Marimba.
I play the solo first, then discuss a few issues, then you will see the music with sticking's accompanied by the recording.
These videos will appear on the UNCC music department website next month along with all of the other instrument videos for the competition.
You may want to use headphones while listening to this video since marimba can be very hard on laptop speakers.

Why not play at the (resonant) center of the "black key" bars?

You can play on the ends of the accidentals or the middle. Just avoid the node. When you are playing a tricky fast piece such as this it is most often played on the ends for accuracy sake. I am also reading this so playing on the ends helps a lot in this case.
