I bought a Iphone 8 2.5 years a go with a new battery. I will buy a Iphone 11 Pro after Christmas. Before the Iphone 8 I had the Iphone 6S for 3 years. For me the camera is important.
I love it! you’re taking advantage of cheaper phones from the used market- the 11 Pro will be fantastic for you for a few more years, and you’ll really appreciate the improved camera.
I actually bought the Iphone 12 mini instead. The upgrade is still better than Iphone 8 in everyway. I like the formfactor of the Iphone 12 mini. Physically is smaller but the screen is still bigger. I don't need three cameras. The Iphone 8 had one camera. Also the battery in Iphone 12 mini is still bigger, not by much, but still bigger than Iphone 8. I always have my powerbank with me, So I wouldn't run out of battery anyway.

I was stuck between getting the 11 Pro vs an iPhone 12, I'm moving from an iPhone Xs. I prefer the design language of the 11 Pro the 12 feels like a squared-off iPhone 11, with less battery and a better screen but I'll take my chances with a year or 2 of software support over the 11 pro,, the A14 chip and slightly better cameras with the 12.
I do think the 12 is the overall smarter buy, especially considering they're often cheaper. The performance difference is noticeable, and 5G is a big plus.
If you have money go for 13 instead they have much better battery than 12. Overall 13 series is much better buy I think than 12. iPhone 14 is literally the same phone as 13 and 15 or 16 are still kinda expensive.
I would also say the 11 series. Three camera, very fast performance even today (considering the age of the phone), excellent battery life, it didn't have almost any drawback at the time, even 5G was barely starting to catch on, so not really an issue.
Agreed!! They’ve aged surprisingly well? That is one thing that I forgot to mention in the video is the lack of 5G support, which is a real con now, but also helps its battery life!
