Brigadier looks smart but the question is How will we sustain our armoured formations if we are in war of high attrition? This workshop needs to be fully automated and be state of the art. It is not to be proud of having this type of workshop in 21st century. The workshop should be cutting edge and highly innovated and I think this is good area for private sectors to get in. I think Bharat Forge, TASL, L&T if given chance to refurbish these tanks they will do much more better than this obselte junk workshop.

Army is working on reducing number of static workshops. You have to understand these workshops have existed since British era doing these jobs, it's only recently that this area has opened up to private sector. In the coming years, things will be going private way but even the US army still does its own overhaul process.

I see many comments where people are commenting that it is not a modern facility. Yes, cuz it is not driven by profits. Everything comes from Army's budget, and army spends it according to its preferrences and clearly, power tools are not their priority and has to face internal beurocracy. If you know, EME workshops are the units are always short of vehicles to do daily duties and last to receive anything new. Frontline troops get priority. They do their job well with what they have in a country where most people cry about taxes but complaint about everything. I have seen US Army's overhaul facility documentary ans they had powertools but it was more or less same.

@@kunalpandey1672 as u saw in the title it's a rejuvenating workshop we can't really use electrical stuff here all the time , things has to be done by hand tools, and it also happens in Russia, usa, china etc..... in these kind of workshops old tanks are rejuvenated so u can't trust a machine u have to do it urself, we went to a Russian facility and also American facility in Europe, it was pretty similar, ....

@kunalpandey1672 it is not that our government don't give us funds for our equipment, but doing it with hand tools is the most effective way to do it🤦🏽

Not entirely correct to say zero turning radius it require at minimum a radius of barrel from the point of pivot which would turret radius plus length of barrel that is the Turing radius without demolishing surroundings

Still using adjustable wrench and open end spanners in a high tech workshop, instead of using socket wrenches and power tools to execute the job easier and faster. This is gadha majdoori. I won't blame them. This is cultural problem. Where Shastra Puja is more important than rectifying faults.
