Agree with the Crossed Out comparison, also No Comment, Apartment 213 (minus the Slayer riffs) etc. - same sense of pure, single-minded rage bursting through the speakers. This really does sound like a lost recording from the 90's.
someone gave me this record for free when I was in 7th grade at a record shop, just getting into punk. Blew my mind. I enjoy it a lot more relistening to it now.
Powerviolence is so abrupt, erratic and spastic, it never rubs me the wrong way. I'm a full-fledged brutal death metal/deathgrind guy, and while the insane sporadic tempo changes are there, with brutal and precise instrumentation, I can never turn my back on powerviolence, because it really caters toward my attention span, and my temper. Death metal, especially brutal death metal and deathgrind (yes, subgenre nitpicker) get my blood flowing and the "HULK SMASH" mode on deck, but powerviolence is so fucking raw, it is like distilled rage, like mainlining adrenaline into my jugular with jumper cables on my nipples.
They're clearly paying tribute to crossed out though, it would be crazy to assume in a genre as niche as powerviolence they could rip off crossed out and try paint the image and character of the music as their own. In any case feels pretty cool to be able to hear a CO style band with modern production that still sounds authentic!
@@ILoveDavidLynch it's one thing to pay homage to a band in a creative way (see Netjajev SS paying homage to Rupture) but this is just a sterile copy. To each their own. Good for you if you dig this. I don't.
@@chano7053 For sure I agree, people dont always have to like the same stuff. I just meant crossed outs sound and style was so unique and specific that to me a band doing a reincarnation of it like this can't be anything but a homage since it would be played and advertised to the same audience almost everytime.
I once prayed for more Crossed Out……and God listened.
Crossed Out Jr.
A masterpiece of powerviolence.
probably one of the best modern powerviolence band i've heard that personifies the 90s. great shit. more please =)
Ooo you should check out Scum Human from BC, Canada. Their '15 demo is great crossed out worship
It's on this lovely channel 🤗🎵❌️
i met one of the band members, he owns a petrol station. dude told me to check out the band because i remind him of one of the members.
I saw them in someone’s garage in Mobile, Alabama with Mind Eraser, Paranoid, and Legion 17 years ago
