If I ever decide to do that mod, we will surely do a video of it!

I ordered these for my wife’s 2dr JK. I don’t suspect any shenanigans during my install.

      It's pretty straight forward

@@DefiantOffroad I like the idea of the burr drill bit you used vs routing out every hole to 3/8”.

I wish that I could take credit for that idea, but that was all my man Jason. He's the man when it comes to making it happen!

Good mod. I did the rugged ridge ones on mine, like four years back.
    That flutter freaked me out…lol

Dude, there were times when I was going through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and I'd have an 18 wheeler pass me going the other way, and the hood would violently flap. I'd just think "so this is how I die..."

      @@DefiantOffroad yeah same.
You can take the hood spring out too. I took mine off, think it is one or two 10mm bolts. Supposedly that helps. I think I did it at the same time, so not sure really.

The JL ones seem to be holding steady so far. I passed through the CBBT last night on my way home, and with each 18 wheeler I was in full "COME AT ME, BRO" mode.

Very nice. Im assuming these also fade ? Wonder if full metal is a better option. What’s your opinion?

    • @DefiantOffroad

They haven't faded. The internal metal components (specifically the springs) haven't fared well, but they still hold the hood down fine.

Still trying to figure out how to het the washer over the bolt on the lower mount (about the 1:25 mark) as my hands don’t come close to fitting and I don’t have oversized hands. The nut isn’t a problem as it rides in the socket, just that darn washer…

Don’t place washer on stud. Take the washer and place it inside the fender and align it with the hole then black the latch through the hole while holding the washer once through the carefully maintain pressure against the latch and fish the nut onto the stud then tighten

Ended up doing something similar… small piece of tape to hold the washer in place.
