As someone who does fencing, I found out the hard and expensive way that the 2 dewalt nail guns previously on offer were no good for boarding. Dewalt have since released a battery roofing nailer which I will be purchasing. Great video. Wish I'd have seen it sooner 😊
Better using a Paslode 360xi nail gun with round headed ring shank Hot Dipped Galvanised nails. Those coil nailer nails are usually zinc plated or galv plated - this will rust quickly and give you those horrible black streaks down the fence slats. Best to use Hot Dipped Galvanised nails, much more corrosion resistant. Good video though !
Hello, thanks for your comment. That's interesting I will have to go back and check out some old jobs. Haven't noticed anything yet tho. I will let you know.
I recently put a close board fence up , I had to join it to another one installed by someone else, I noticed they had used staples for the feather edge, I put mine up just using a hammer and nails, can you think of any draw backs using staples ?
@@thisisadz3199 they seemed to be about 40 mm, i was told the fence had been up for 16 years, im trying to find a better way of nailing than doing it the old fashioned way of just using a hammer, I was just looking on another channel @bacren property & fencing and he seems to use a DeWalt DCN692 type 3 battery nail gun that takes 50 mm ring shanks , im guessing they are the same nails as you have shown on your video with a flat head, my concern was the same as you expressed that the feather edge would pull out over time as the nail heads are too small. Thanks for your response , really enjoyed your video.

Hi, that's interesting I will be on the lookout for that. Having the compressor and air line is a bit annoying sometimes. Thank you 👍

That's great thanks for getting back to me.
My brother in law is a floor layer and uses this for plylining floors, you can get hundreds of nails out rapidly

Hi Matthew, thanks for watching....um we do a lot of fencing and I can see any benefit to using staples? Surely they aren't long enough ?

Yer I have used this tool for a couple years now and completed 1000+ feet of closed board fencing. Never had a problem! Using the nails in the video 📸
