The wngine that camshaft is going in, will not run right. That timing is going to be very off. He only worried about the distance from lobe to lobe & not the placement of it as far as when each lobe should be at the top or (OPEN) of the stroke
I'm sure he is not that stupid, you can see by his talent in doing the job its not his first time and would have taken into consideration. did you not see how he changed the position of the lobes before welding.
@@incubatork I never Said or implied he was stupid. And even if you seen him adjusting the cam lobes, if it's off by even one onethousandths of an inch it won't run. Not saying it won't run ar all, but it won't run right.
@@kalani1963 Rubbish, of course it will run, a slight difference in the lobe position is just like a bit of slack or tightness in the tappet adjustment, or a worn down cam, engines are very forgiving in that respect, also the diesel injection pump can be advanced or retarded to account for any timing differences

Похоже постановочное видео, типа можно и вот так сделать. Но мне кажется с резьбой это будет похоже на угадайку, либо по ширине шейки (ну и общей длине распредвала) не угадаешь, либо по положению кулачков.
This kind of repairing is good but it not last long because that is a vital part of vehicle and it will result to fatal accident in the long run, the best thing is to replace a new one.
As a person that can NOT lay a pretty bead welding one handed ESPECIALLY with a full length electrode I’ve always been jealous of those that could. LOL
Judging by the casting marks/lines on the cam it does look like he indexed as well as set the distance, I would think threading it would make that nearly impossible to do, guy must be good or later cut those threads off and left that part out of the video. Cleans up lobes with file at the end 😂
Every one of these types of videos the men are sitting on the floor working! Some industrious persons could make a lot of money selling them work benches!
