Those are a great option for a cruddy looking factory steering wheel. I've installed several. @latemodelrestoration Fun fact, the 4-post steering wheels used in the early 90s Foxbody Mustangs are actually the same size and shape as the ones used in the mid 90s Broncos and F150s (1st gen Lightnings included)! This also means that the similarly shaped 4-post airbag steering wheels you offer for the Foxbody can be used in these trucks as well, while the wheel in this video will bolt into the early 90s Foxbodies, too.
@latemodelrestoration Similarly, all of these 9th generation, OBS trucks of the same 'aeronose' body style (even the F250s and F350s), can use the same 4-post steering wheels. The only caveat being, if the 3/4 and 1-ton pickups were originally equipped with the 2-post non-airbag steering wheel, they'll need to convert the sliding contact in their column to a clock spring setup in order to maintian functionality of the the horn and cruise control buttons. This is a VERY easy process, simply disconnecting the original sliding contact harness a little further down the column, and plugging in the new clock spring harness in its place! From there, it's a simple matter of reinstalling the wheel as you show in this video!
Although the steering wheels look similar to each other, they have their differences and are not interchangeable. Due to liability reasons, we don't recommend anyone modify either steering wheel to fit a different application. Thanks. -Landan
Excellent timing, as i need a new steering wheel. Just one question. Why is the stock wheels shiny and the one you're offering flat? Is it because of the use?
We don't have a video covering that topic directly. The airbag material is vinyl so you'll need a vinyl prep to ensure good adhesion. We sell the SEM vinyl prep which is really good. It temporarily softens the material so that when you spray the top coat, it absorbs the paint into the material rather than just sitting on top. Just read the instructions on the can. There is no need to clean or scuff the surface as the vinyl prep will clean/degrease/prep it for you. Use a low nap microfiber towel with the SEM vinyl prep. I've taken a liking into the towels you can get in the detail section at Walmart that come on a roll. We sell other finishes as well specific to the vehicles/trim levels that we service. I'll link the interior paint category for Bronco below. Let me know if you have any other questions. -Landan lmr.com/products/1992-1996-ford-bronco-interior-paint
Will either the bronco or lightning steering wheels fit a 95 F150 XLT? Bolt configurations and everything look identical to the lightning steering wheel in your video. Thanks
Yes. Either SKU will work with your truck. It's the same exact steering wheel. We just split them up to target the specific vehicles. Hope this helps! -Landan
I'm guessing you mean steering wheel because we already offer a factory-style gen 1 Lightning wheel. I'll be sure and forward your comment to our product team. Thanks! -Landan
That was easy to install and upgrade the SVE Leather steering wheel on this 1st Generation Ford SVT Lightning not bad at all
I need the leather wrap for that steering wheel

Worn and/or dirty leather appears shiny. -Landan
You mention the possibility of prep and painting the airbag. Do you have a vid on that? Also do you sell the paint? I only see grey on your site.
