I have to tell you about the ground part Cosmic Antenna. Hands down one of the most important parts of the antenna system. Years ago the house I lived in needed TV reception. Those days twin lead was the ticket and mostly used. I used a grounding block at the ground level where the leads went into the house through the window frame. The antenna system was about a month old and the reception was just superb. A wild lightning storm passed over the homestead. The next day my mother says that there is not tv reception and all she can see is static. Went outside and checked the foam and vinyl insulation of the wire. I noticed that the insulation was really flexible. I took a knife and cut open the wire lead. Surprise, there was no copper wire inside the casing. From the ground block to the antenna on the roof no wire. I replaced the lead in wire with new stuff and the signal was just great. Grounding saved the television and the house from fire. Point well made Cosmic Antenna. VF

      A lesson learned well, indeed.
I had a similar problem with a satellite feed line back in the 90s. The small dish took a hit and fried the copper in the coax for about 30 ft , the ground block did it's job it all stayed outside.

@@cosmicantenna9244 I have to say that a lesson learned is a lesson remembered for life. My neighbor had her TV blow up when static hit her house. Not to mention the wires in the leadin. Pays to have a grounding block for sure.

I found box of carriage bolts 1/4" X 6" long stainless steel today at a flea market. Could not pass up the box of fasteners. Can I just keep the full length of the bolts for adjustment without affecting the protrusion going past the square aluminum near the copper element part ??? Thanks vf

Sorry Cosmic Antenna, I made a mistake with the bolt size. The size is 5/16 X 18 inch coarse thread. I tried to use 1/4 inch nuts and no luck. Was looking over what I had to start and got to buy more stuff. Peace fella. vf
