Hyundai Elantra 2008 2009 The Car Shifter Will Not Shift Out Of The Park Brake light Is Working

Thanks for the info. My 2009 Elantra is an old family car that I keep on hand, I removed the center console to clean out years of accumulated spilled soda pop. I like this era of car construction, everything is still pretty much a bolt-on. It has 223k miles, still runs like a champ. A steady stream of OEM, aftermarket, and junk yard parts are available. It's like Ford ownership cheapness, but it never explodes on you.

I have to crack up, he thinks the battery is dead and that's why it won't start. It's not in park, that's most likely why it won't start. But thanks for the video, showed me how to not damage the gear shift knob when I remove it.

It was in neutral though and cars will start in neutral

My 2008 will go into every gear but when its put in drive seems like the transmission will not engage. And when it’s put in drive it doesn’t even light up on the dash
