    I didn't know you could film while crossing the border. i guess you didn't video the officer so no reason it wouldn't be ok. Thanks for showing that. Someday I'm driving up there and the crossing part seemed intimidating but after watching this, it was really smooth.

      Yeah, as long as you’ve got your paperwork in order and just answer the questions directly, it’s pretty straightforward.

    Im enjoying the journey. As a teen we drove from the states through Canada into Alaska for the 1st time, via the Alcan Hwy dirt roads in 1976 or 77 from Louisiana. Im anxious to see your travels through Alaska to your destination. We left Alaska in 1986 and never returned, although i do miss the wilderness, wildlife, snow, northern lights and the beauty that only Alaska can provide. Safe travels. I look forward to seeing tomorrows journey. You have beautiful dogs.

      They have a LOT of miles under their paws. Tess has been on the Alcan 7x, the boys 6x plus all were on a cross country RV trip a couple years ago. Even the baby, Gidget, has done the drive 2x now. They all do really well.
      Thanks for joining us 🐾

    That sunrise was gorgeous a lot of nice views along the way so far. Doggies no doubt love the wee run around to stretch the legs nothing wrong with letting them run with no one around i do the same. Drive safe , thanks for the update and look forward to you next. London , Ontario Canada .

    I am very surprised that you don't have to waterblast yr vehicles & trailer. I know in Australia if you pass certains states you to. Not in NZ YET. YOU do have to wash yr boat & trailer when going between different lakes, sea rivers yr footwear as well. I will find out gas prices & tell you.

    I think it depends if you're a foreigner entering another country. How you describe the Canadian border guards, is what I experience, as a Canadian, entering the US with the American border guards.

      @@ouralaskahomestead I've crossed the USA border as a big truck operator. I found if the paperwork is up to snuff and you are friendly. I can understand why the female Canadian border guard. It sounds like she just got trained. It's been years since I crossed Sweet Water/Coutts border. Yes North Portdel is barren but I found it to faster to go north and connect to Hwy 16. Shorter in driving miles

    Great morning, thanks for the reply to my questions seems along time before the dogs & you go potty. I just guessing. Do you wear seatbelts in US & Canada?. It doesn't matter whether you don't get any pictures, I didn't realize that you were driving tho the night. Cheers NZ

    • @ouralaskahomestead
      @ouralaskahomestead  9 месяцев назад +1

      Always seatbelts. We’ll get as much footage as possible during the day. It’s 0720 and still pitch black. Days are still short up this way.

      Not normally. They both ask pretty much the same questions. During Covid there were a few more steps to get into Canada but everything is back to normal now.

    Safe journey! When you pan or move as you are recording, the scenery blurs (on 2160p 4k). Could you maybe do it a little slower so the camera has a chance to focus. Great seeing the scenery and small towns!
