- I had to share this amazing collaboration with this one-of-a-kind artist Ronny Greenberg. I loved making music with him and performing this anthem of baritone repertoire. I hope you enjoy the casual performance we gave in San Francisco.
Hi Sir Lucas thanks for this Beautiful Song , Magnificent , Bravo
Fabulous, simply gorgeous, THAT ending!! Thank you so much for posting X
so kind, thank you
@@LucasMeachem1 More than merited mate, your vocal production is sublime. Thank you X
My virtual singing teacher!
Great singing! Perhaps a bit too big for this room... The piano comes to its limit! But who cares 😂
First comment! Very nicely sung. I saw you in Dallas for Cosi Fan Tutte and really enjoyed it. Your voice had tremendous resonance and clarity. May I ask, how would you describe finding the placement for that last note? I struggle in singing those sorts of endings and finding that kind of tone, particularly after a song like this where much of it is sung out strongly. Thank you for sharing this performance!
You are wonderful! It would be nice if you could sometimes react to Finnish opera singers! I'd love to hear your thoughts on Jorma Hynninen!
OMG I love your voice. You could sing the phone book to me. I am glad I found you. I, too studied for 12 years with two of the finest teachers in the US. Unfortunately, I gave it up. But it was the greatest time of my life. BTW, my last teacher studied with Giorgio Tozzi! You touched my heart.
Even though Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote the song for a bass/bass-baritone like Ezio Pinza who retired from the Met and sang in the original premiere and recording with Mary Martin, Pinza would be pleased to be hearing you sing his signature tune. He would say "Bravo Luca!"
I was wondering if you recommend Christian Van Horn to be doing reaction videos from his channel on his own repertoire and other singers of today and the past? You, Peter Barber, and quite a few to name are the only ones who have reacted to watch one video and then another. It would be a treat for CVH to do so.
I think you have a resonant baritone voice.
My favorite current baritone!
You have made my evening enchanted, and motivated me to study my music
Absolutely brilliant maestro, bravo!! These songs from musicals by Rodgers & Hammerstein are so beautiful, such rich sound with gorgeous lines and I must say that their music blends naturally with your voice. Maybe some Carousel next? ;)
Thank you so so much. Soliloquy is already on my channel. It's from a few years back. That piece is quintessential to the baritone rep, if you can get through it without crying.
Sounds like Richard Fredricks...a compliment
n u had become an counter-tenor at 2:39 with the E4 mr.Lucas
One of the most beautiful songs written❤
It's late in the evening on Sunday and was drifting through the videos and just as I was going to call it a night I found this video and had to listen to Lucas sing this heart touching song...Thank you from a guy who saw the movie version in a movie house a long time ago...
Hi Lucas! As you like to make triple comparisons, how about taking three very different baritones, each of them great in their uniqueness: Tito Gobi, Dietrich Fisher Diskau and Paolo Silveri?
❤
This is my favorite song to sing as a baritone, and it's always wonderful to hear it done truly classically rather than in my personal "I can't stop sounding only slightly operatic entirely by accident" style that I usually sing in.
Lovely, indeed!
This is the performance I didn't know I needed. Splendid! Thank you!
Wonderful, but we want more reaction videos😀
Yes and singing. What a talent. Wishing you a long, happy career.
ha! ok! I've got a few in the works. Any requests?
@@LucasMeachem1maybe a Wagner episode with people like Hans Hotter and George London?
Edit: I just realised you hadn’t done Lawrence Tibbet yet, you HAVE to do him, one of if not the greatest baritones on record.
Bravo 👏 beautiful sound
Dearest Lucas Meacham every note you sing is a treasure. I cried over this beautiful song...i absolutely love you your wife and beautiful son and i want to sing for you it is my dream...like a coaching...i would sing Grief that i learned from my grandmother an opera singer when i was 8...it is my dream and i know you and your wife do master classes you have a great heart im hoping you will do it we know some of the same people i promise not to waste your time ❤
Nice, did you watch Robert Merill's performance of that song?
I saw you last night in Don Giovanni. An astounding performance. Thank you.
