The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

What Cliffe was saying makes perfect sense to a true follower of Jesus, but this poor guy looked confused. I pray his eyes are opened.
Those without the Holy Spirit are confused when it comes to biblical knowledge because they don't have the Holy Spirit to guide and teach them, his heart might be hardened and eyes covered from the truth at the moment but once he has faith he'll start to understand and realise it all makes sense. Just have to plant the seed of Faith in their hearts and help it grow with prayer and giving them the good news so the devilish lies and deception is lifted from them

What I was meaning is that Non-Christians don't interpret the Bible correctly and misuse it by butchering scripture and using it out of context not the way it's supposed to be used to fit their argument. For example Muslims try using bible verses to fit their argument when challenging Christian's the butcher the scripture to make it fit their point. Those who have Faith in Jesus have the Holy Spirit with them which helps them understand the Bible in context he he guide's them through their spiritual Journey however Pagans and Atheist who are not faithful to Jesus and don't have the Holy Spirit with them are blind and the can't see the biblical truth nor do they understand the Bible correctly so they manipulate it to fit themselves. I do not need to humble myself in this case since you're misjudging my statement.

The enemy can't take the Sheep from the Good Shepherd "Jesus" he can only devour the loss who haven't returned to the Lord yet, therefore since I'm saved I am saved indeed but the person who was challenging Cliffe isn't saved yet so the enemy can still win him over unless he has Faith in Jesus first.

By their fruits you will know them. Jesus is responsisble for the creation of Christianity. Thus Jesus is responsible for everything that anyone does in his name because of the things that he said. Christians and Christianity is the fruit of Jesus' words and by his fruits you will know him. If Christians are doing it all wrong, then what was the point of Jesus in the first place.
So Knechtle thinks that he alone is the one true Christian. Er HELLO, that's what every Christian thinks. And that's also what every believer of every other religion on earth thinks. Christians aren’t under law, but we have a choice. Whoever the Son sets free is free indeed. We are free of sin and free to sin. Anyone born of flesh is a slave of sin John 10. Its not on Jesus, but most christians who did the crusades etc. werent real Christians. Their hearts would be penetrated by the holy spirit, and they would have more compassion. Its not his fault that I sin, when I sin ill take the blame. Read John 15:5 btw thatll make the verse youre talking about make more sense. People used “Christianity” for the crusades etc, as Cliff stated. Those groups identified themselves as Christian were not truly Christian. And that should have been also the point shared in this message as well. People call themselves Christians when their actions are against the beliefs of Christianity. Now agree we can still sin but what those groups have done under the name of Christianity and use verses out of context isn’t what Christianity is about.

The crusades were justified
My rebuttal would be Christianity was indeed used to justify the crusades, sexism, and oppression but nowhere in the Bible or in genuine Christian teachings does Christianity condone or encourage those acts. That is like saying the law is invalid because people break and bend the law by their own actions. No the law is made with specific rules and doctrines but it gets broken because of people’s free will. Christianity is also a doctrine where good hearted people spread kindness, patience, compassion, love, honesty, morality and honor. Generalizing a religion to in this case, the acts of people in the 12th century isn’t indicative of how people act in 2023.
There are true followers of Jesus, and those who use him to justify actions of their own will and understanding. They are not followers of Jesus, and lean on their own beliefs.

I always try to remind people NOT to have faith in their religion or their church family. Your faith is on God. While it is wonderful to have an amazing church family, they aren’t God. They will fall short. Give them grace as God gives you grace

I love Cliffe and appreciate how he spreads the gospel of Christ to our embattled colleges and universities. I really wish he would stop referring to slavery and oppression the way he does, as it comes across as white guilt and almost patronizing to non white people and liberals. I don't take ANY responsibility nor accountability for the sins of ANYONE other than my own, and it's pointless and silly to argue from a standpoint that DOES take responsibility for the sins of others, as Kliffe seems to do. These young people don't need further ammunition to cling to victimology and an oppressive mindset. These colleges are already doing that job. These young people need to be taught about personal accountability to God for their OWN individual shortcomings and sins. If God wouldn't judge individuals this way, why is Cliffe teaching it? This is the only flaw I see Cliffe keep returning to, and it should be pointed out, as it serves no good purpose to winning repentant hearts and minds over to God. Why does no one ever call this part of his debating out???
Before I commented, I thought I'd read some responses to see who thought like me. I had the same thoughts and like how you framed it. I really like Cliffe and he's almost always spot on, but this was one of those videos where I was thinking: they are going to think that somehow the Bible justifies those actions and it does not. I always thought of Christianity as equal to following Christ, so I never separate the two.
@@Amy-un6xg Exactly. He doesn't even bother to point out what TRUE Christianity means, but instead dismisses it almost as if it's just another "religion". He could have simply pointed out how anything can be distorted or perverted by man, including even true Christianity. This would've been an awesome opportunity to offer God's word as the foundation of truth to discern what is from man, and what is rooted in perfect truth of God's. As without using God's word rightly, you WILL end up with man's interpretations, which can be flawed. He could've taught the difference between worldly religion and true devotion. One is physical and from man's perspective in every sense, and one is spiritualand from God's perspective. The only way to receive the perspective in truth and perfection is from who is truth and perfection itself... God and His Word.

Besides, I've watched hundreds of hours of his videos, and whenever he brings up this topic of race and oppression, he never goes on to clarify or add anything along the lines of "that isn't what a true follower of Christ does". Trust me when I tell you this. Besides, even of this wasn't the case, though it definitely is, would you agree or disagree with his statements about Christianity in general being oppressive and racist?

I’d like to know instances during the crusades where it was used to justify atrocities, most cases I know of were taking back land that was stolen by Arab war lords. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.

ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " On The Origin of Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology but I accept micro Evolution such as speciation and adaptation because there's no evidence of macro Evolutionary biology nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus.
