ahh I watched Evolution first. :) I do not watch these in order. I usually do not watch them at all for a really long time then watch a bunch of them back to back. Not paying aattention to when they were aired.
Thank you for showing this new version of Dominion. We have just started with the base game but I actually think this could add to the flavor and feel to make it a bit more interesting. May have to look into this!
Pretty much every expansion has something interesting to add. I bought Intrigue first because I wanted to go to 5 players, and found at first, that the cards that give you choice, added a lot of AP to the game, especially Secret Chamber. Once people got more familiar with the cards, that effect wore off somewhat, but Intrigue definitely adds multiple options to several of the cards, which multiply the possibilities available, and consequently, the time it takes to evaluate them... And of course, some of the new attack cards are pretty mean-- though it's still hard to beat the thief and a throne room...
My favorite game of all times! Unfortunately I will have to wait until September to get a german version of the expansion... At least I can watch you guys play, though I'm even more hyped now xD

It looks more complicated than it is. I like to describe it like this: The game comes with 500 cards in the original set. However, there are only 32 *different* cards in the game, as there are a LOT of multiples. And for any given game, you won't be using any more than 16 or 17 different cards. So the idea of learning a game with 500 cards can seem complicated, when you realize you only need to know 16 different cards at a time to play a game, you find it's really not so bad at all. And even when adding expansions, you're not playing many more cards *per game* than you were before-- here with Adventures, it adds a couple of extra piles for the "traveller" characters and the "Event" cards, but besides that, the number of piles is pretty much the same as it always is-- keep in mind, that the piles on the table are *all copies of the same card*, they're not stacks of different cards, so it's not like you're looking at hundreds of different cards that you'll have to learn...
Dominion is freakin' awesome. Caution though, you think you won't be buying all the expansions, but you'll probably be wrong. You can play a long time with the base game because there is a lot of variation and strategies evolve, but there's just so much cool stuff going on in some of the expansions, and Adventures here is no exception...
just to clarify, cards which give +1 card / +1 action are commonly called "cantrips" - village variants usually give +1 card / +2 Actions :) Fun to watch though, good game :)

Transmogrify cards go into your haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand! Also there's no such thing as an Action-Treasure card. Yet. Closest thing would be Coin of the Realm, which is a Treasure-Reserve.
Elanchana Sigh. Yeah, it even says "put that card into your hand" on the Transmogrify card :) There were soooooo many new cards (is my only lame excuse). Another thing I DID know about this card, but wasn't 100% sure of was: "You may trash a card to gain a card costing more, or the same amount, or less; you may trash a card to gain a copy of the same card." So... does the "or less" part mean you can just trash a Copper and not take a new card?
David Arnott No. If it says "up to", you HAVE to gain a card from trashing one. So Transmogrify isn't useful with Coppers. It's better in trash-for-benefit strategies, but you can also use it for minor emergencies, like when you have two terminals and an Estate in your hand and Village is on the board (turn the Estate into a Village right away and you're good to go). It's different from cards like Remake or Upgrade, where you gain a card costing *exactly* $1 more than what you trashed. A bit late on this video, but just wanted to drop a note to correct the misapplication of "Village" in the table chat by Dave. Villages are +2 Actions, +1 Card by definition (the base set card) and thus a village-derivative, of which there are many, generally has that and something else or a slight variation of that. Really, the key is the +2 Actions, since that enables playing more than one terminal card (a card with no +Actions on it) per turn. Dave repeatedly refers to +1 Card, +1 Action cards as villages. These cards are generally called "cantrips" (not sure the origin of that term), not villages. They are extremely different card classifications, so the distinction is important to those learning to play Dominion.
Several mistakes in the rules explanation: 1) You say: "In this particular case, also the Curses". The Curses are always included, and it could matter. 2) When you call a Reserve card, it goes into play, not into your discard pile. If you could call it to your discard pile, you could shuffle it in and potentially even draw it during your turn. (Also, there are several cards in Dominion where it matters which cards you have in play.) 3) A more marginal mistake: The explanation of Durations is not completely accurate. A Duration stays as long as it's still doing something. Most often one extra turn, but sometimes more, sometimes less. 4) Magpie gains you another Magpie only if you reveal an Action or Victory card, not "anything else" (e.g. not a Curse). 5) As Elanchana mentioned, you played Transmogrify very wrong. 6) Lost City: The other players draw a card when you GAIN it, not only when you buy it. I see that you corrected this in the end. 7) "Save is another way to get a Buy". No, because you spent a Buy to buy it. You still have as many Buys as you had before. 8) You say you can play a Caravan Guard to the table as a Reaction, "as you would a Moat". Moat is not PLAYED as a Reaction, simply revealed and stays in your hand (unlike the Caravan Guard). 9) You say the Caravan Guard that was played as a Reaction will immediately go to your discard pile at the start of your turn. No, it will stay in play and be discarded in Clean-up with your other cards. See number 2 for why this matters.
End of game is when 3 Supply piles (not action piles) are empty. Supply = Basic Treasure cards (Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Potion) Basic Victory cards (Estate, Duchy, Province, Colony) Curse cards Ruins cards Kingdom cards (ten piles)I have had games when we run out of duchies or silver cards:( Thanks for nice video :)
Action piles count towards a 3-pile ending, too, as they are part of the "supply." The supply includes kingdom cards, which are (essentially) the 10 selectable card piles that may change from game to game.
It's a shame you didn't go through the whole rules as I have never played Dominion (no, really!!). Whilst I could go away and watch another video and come back to this, you could have explained all the rules and those that know them could have just skipped forwards.

@@boardgamegeek I had the same problem trying to watch it on my iphone. The video stopped playing and the loading circle kept spinning and spinning. I had to close youtube many times and every time I tried to watch it I got maybe an extra 5-10 seconds into the video before it stopped working again. The strange thing is, every other video I watch on my phone works perfectly fine. I ended up watching this video on my laptop and there were no hassles. It's very strange. Great video though.

I assume the Soldier and the other level-ups (aside from the Peasant itself) are not in the supply and do not count towards game end?
