✨A few things that I need to add: • I rebraid around every 6 weeks. However, sometimes I rebraid throughout as I see the need. For instance, I’ll sometimes rebraid the perimeter at 6 weeks and then the middle at 7ish weeks (because it’s time consuming!) • I wash and deep condition once a week. Deep conditioning is a must! Wash according to your lifestyle (sweat, product buildup, etc). • After each wash/deep condition, I apply the Chebe Grease to my wet hair and seal it with the Chebe Butter. • I only style my hair when I’m going out. When I’m home, it’s down being left alone, in a bonnet, or twisted back in my two big flat twists.
Suggestion for the Cousins: Try braiding about 1/2 inch at the root and then two strand twist the rest of the way to the ends. It gives clean boxes, but by twisting, you can get these done faster. Take down is faster, too. Thanks, MKB! You always keep it real.
Great tip Cuzzie!!! That’s so true. Braids do take longer. I find that I can keep them elongated a bit more than when I would twist, but the twists definitely gave a more full appearance!
😂😂😂 "a lil lot and a lil lil!" 😅😅😅😅....my hair is fine but dense (a lil lot) so it was a lot to deal with before my iron decided to exit stage left.....I still have a lot of hair but it's actually easier to manage....so I got a blessing in the midst of the struggle honey!!! Yaaassss🎉🎉🎉
Hey ya'll,I shaved my hair to the root for years and it's growing in nicely. With lupus the hair tends to come out in circles, but I lift my hair to ash blonde and I'm milk chocolate,😉. Hair oils and a spray bottle of water helps to keep the hair moisturized. Blessings and thanks share niece🙏💜
I broke a nail clickin in so fast 🤭 I’m growing my hair out BUT it’s a challenge keeping it moisturized because it is dry like a desert 🏜️ and tight like a girdle!! I bought some organic African hair growth butter I’m hoping will help. 😬 I’m talking Kunta Kinte tight!! 😂
Best of luck with you cousin and thank you for making me laugh! I'm sure you will reach your hair goals, just enjoy the process and love what God gave you because we are all unique and wonderfully made!
Girl listen!!!! That must keeps mine right!!!! I mist it every morning. The braids just make it easier to retain the length and lose less shedding hair!
Yas cuzzin, come through!!!! I think this is my fav video yet!!! I too have a lot, yet a little😅 fine natural hair. Will you please do a video of how you keep your roots from puffing up. Thanks cuzzin!!!! Love, joy and blessings❤️🫶🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wow! This was very helpful 🎉 but my main concern cuzzie is how to take the braids down w/o knotting up my hair. LOL, I have 3 different textures and the super soft section in the back always 🪢 knots up. And the kinky section at the crown starts to loc 🤦🏾♀️ so how can I make the take down smoother with less breakage??
I have fine hair, medium to low density. It’s so hard finding other natural with fine hair. I’m admiring your braids-I have braids in myself, 55 in total and they’re about as small as yours 😭 the struggles of fine hair. A lot of the times I went to have more braids but I’m afraid of them being to small and locking and/or tangling and being too small to take down
So I literally do this and leave the ends out. I put bug twists in the mini braids and loosen mornings. It's lovely and I have 0 breakage. It's a godsend. Can't wait to see all the retention.
Love all of the different styles cousin!!!!! I just big chopped for the 2nd time... I was doing the most on my 1st journey lol. I can't wait for my hair to grow back so I can try these styles.
Hey! Great question! I usually rebrand it about every 6 weeks if I haven’t been rebranding throughout. For example, I may rebraid the perimeter at 6 weeks and the middle at 7-8 weeks.
Drink your water, mind your business, eat right and make sure your hair is protected and juicy! Cousin Mary Kay your hair is FLOURISHING!! We love to see it!
Glad you’re posting this. So many people don’t know what fine natural hair is. Whenever I say I have fine, people think I’m describing soft texture 3a, 3b hair. I have fine hair, tightly coiled, but medium density hair. I wear about 200+ micro twists. And redo them every 8 weeks or so, just before they lock up.😅 Of course thats also when they’ve thickened up and look their best.
Oh my goodness!!!!! The way I felt the fact that we have to take our twists and braids out right before they lock up but THAT’S when they look the best!! 😂😩
You look so good in your natural braids (per the usual 😏) and I see such a healthy change in your hair! Keep doing what works for you. Thank you so much for sharing and educatin your cousins 😊❤.
I enjoyed this video so much. I hope to see many more like this . I love your channel. I have done so many of your crochet styles. Your channel has helped me so much with my hair and my daughter’s hair. ❤
Hey! Middle age fine natural 4c/4b and low density. Daughters are fine but one is very high density (folks can’t believe it’s hers) and one medium density. I keep mine rod set for stretch. Found a stylist who put me on game. Trims every 8 weeks for coily hair period. My hair is finally retaining length and is a bit more dense. Love your minis but my edges are thin (always have been) and I’m not that confident!
Thank you for the content. Do you braid your hair while wet or do you blow it out? I’m still trying to figure out what works best for my hair. If it is blown out first, I can keep the braids for 2 months before having to do a takedown, but they look so scalpy. That is the trade off I suppose.
I have hair like you and I thought if I went natural it would be thick lol. My daughter has thick hair. I've been waiting on this video. Thanks for my posting! Your hair looks good and it has grown
Lol.. cuz my stylist from back in the day told me I have a lot of strands but my hair is fine. I do try to keep moist with aloe Vera juice and leave in conditioner. I use kinky curly products . I would love to do twists and they look right I want them to hang like a bob lol
I know exactly what you mean. I always tell my oldest son and daughter if anybody has 100 hairs, they have 1000! Their hair has always been so luscious and dense- though it’s beautiful, it’s also time consuming 😅
Hey cousin. The nape! I’m thinking about doing another undercut just because this spot doesn’t grow for me on the left in the back. OMG!. does anybody else have this problem?
Heyy cuzzin happy Saturday I’ve been thinking about going natural myself but I’m so use to perming my hair though but I think it’s time for change bc I love the natural styles I’ve seen and it will be a lot healthier as well I’m lovin those mini plaits ❤❤❤
Hey member cuzzie! Thats cool that you’re thinking about switching it up! I love a good hair switcharoo! You’ll definitely have an entire village here to help you along your journey! 🙌🏾🤸🏾♀️
Hey Sister-Cousin 😊 I remember way back when, so the building funds came through in the hair growth department (takes off 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️) I am in the thick in the back, but thin fine wine in the front 🙄 and it works my nerves because I can't style my hair like I want to at times 😪but I know one day my cup of hair will runneth over😂
I used to have thick fine hair, but after age 40 it became thin fine hair. Menopause, and medication did a job on my hair, and now gray hair along the hairline is doing something crazy. I can't wait for Jesus to come back and give me that 18-year-old body when I go to live in the Kingdom.😂

Yes!!! I love that you are representing us fine hair naturals!!!! We have hair goals too! 🥰Keep these videos coming!!
Yes we do!!! 🙌🏾😀
Mini plaits-8 months in. 4 inches. I'm going at least 1 year (22 INCHES long). I wear jewel beads on the ends to avoid single strand knots.
Suggestion for the Cousins: Try braiding about 1/2 inch at the root and then two strand twist the rest of the way to the ends. It gives clean boxes, but by twisting, you can get these done faster. Take down is faster, too. Thanks, MKB! You always keep it real.

That's a good idea cuz I can't see braiding that small lol

My hair is fine, and i am in desperate times ! 😂 yeah, im gonna need more thin natural hair content in my life 💚😅
Got you cuz! Is your hair fine and thin? Or just fine?
@MaryKBella it's usually just fine, but it's starting to thin at certain areas
So I literally do this and leave the ends out. I put bug twists in the mini braids and loosen mornings. It's lovely and I have 0 breakage. It's a godsend. Can't wait to see all the retention.
Hey Cousin hey!! Your natural hair is beautiful thanks for sharing❤❤
Hey cuzzie! Thanks a bunch. Took some time to develop, but I’ve definitely come to love my crown!
@@MaryKBella yes it's beautiful and growing so fast I love it❤️❤️

Thank you so much for discussing “fine” hair and how to effectively manage it. Unfortunately, I don’t hear it discussed much.
How often do you have to replait because of new growth?
Hey cousin. The nape! I’m thinking about doing another undercut just because this spot doesn’t grow for me on the left in the back. OMG!. does anybody else have this problem?
Love your hair❤❤❤❤
I have been doing comb twist for the last 2 month can I put oil on them and my hair not come down? I have natural fine hair.
