The 4000 series can blow anything off the charts when there is FG support. Then it doesn‘t even break a sweat and stays in low temp ranges. My 4090m stays about 20C cooler due to water cooling in a gaming laptop, so does the cpu (10-20C). But there is always a noticeable difference with or without DLSS 3 (FG). Wasting money 💰 It was working for 6 months then it’s not turning on sometimes, if it’s finally turned on it’s stuck on opening any files, games, apps on computer… never buy loptop with the extra ram or memory! You can be out of your warranty. Crazy!
First with the mislabelled 4080 that they had to de-launch and now with the 4090 laptop, Nvidia really needs to stop lying to their consumers. Performance however is incredible, 3080TI/3090TI Desktop performance in a laptop is now a reality!
I've seen the 4090 laptop GPU in a few laptops, compared against other high end GPUs and while some games are indeed seeing a decent increase to outstanding, but there's also quite a few that the increase is in the 20 to 30 percent, that's not worth the price unless you only play the games that see a massive uplift for the price it's in my opinion not worth it
Not sure what your specific usecase is mr.Wick, but I can assure you for those of us only using high end VR (VARJO AERO and XTAL3) it makes a huge difference.

I have the Strix 17se with the 3080Ti and 12950hx, for the 2k 240hz display I find it already sufficient to make everything run well ..these are excellent machines, nothing to do with msi and various barebones, I also prefer it to razer. The only thing is the ddr5 still stuck at 4800 even in 2023, among other things here you can't put the ddr 5 5600 because you can't put the xmp profile in the bios .. the only shortcoming of these monsters
I also have the 3080 version but these laptops are wayyy beyond the performance of our machines. I get like 80fps on Lost ark. Im sure this laptop would get me to like 170fps

I do like the improvements made, however with gaming laptops, high end to low end, I always find there is stutter involved where on desktop there is not as much.
@@Sanadtm I am not a reviewer, however I was a major enthusiast, I have tried virtually all the laptops from 30 series and varying wattages. Yes, there was stutter. Yes, you are right, less wattage and obtaining higher performance is great, however the laptops also rely heavily on the processing software like FSR or DLSS, but again are better optimized in order to squeeze out the most FPS per watt. You are right that it's impressive to see the ratios of performance and wattage, however you are incorrect as I have direct knowledge and use case scenerios on these laptops with stutter on a variety of games, SKU's, and performance. I also very much distrust laptop manufacturers now, my favorite was when ASUS claimed to be the most powerful, yet did not even have a MUX until recently in their SKU's. As well as when they were asinine with their GPU descriptions, and were deceptive because a manufacturer would claim a high powered 3080, yet it was limited at 95W and it would be no where on any page to see the wattages other than the technical data lol. That is why I went back to desktop.

I got mine scar 17 3080Ti 16gb, 3TB SSD, 64 ram and for 4750$ and it’s glitching crazy… even warranty can’t help! Wasting money 💰
It was working for 6 months then it’s not turning on sometimes, if it’s finally turned on it’s stuck on opening any files, games, apps on computer… never buy loptop with the extra ram or memory!
Oof I need this for zoom meetings and replying emails. How do I brainwash my employer to buy me this?
Please ASUS ROG release 18 inch laptop with mini led too
I'm kind of interested in the graphic design and light 3D modeling if you don't mind talk about a little bit of that
just watching and waiting to see how much heat that things puts out
I've seen the 4090 laptop GPU in a few laptops, compared against other high end GPUs and while some games are indeed seeing a decent increase to outstanding, but there's also quite a few that the increase is in the 20 to 30 percent, that's not worth the price unless you only play the games that see a massive uplift for the price it's in my opinion not worth it
Not sure what your specific usecase is mr.Wick, but I can assure you for those of us only using high end VR (VARJO AERO and XTAL3) it makes a huge difference.
rich ppl dont give a shit
Don't forget laptop gpu is mobile its only fits 64% of real 4090 desktop soo laptop gpus should be named different
Hmm is laptop screen and keyboard free?
@@TomiIslam33 I agree they should some how, but I'm aware this was a laptop card what I was saying was for the price your going to pay for this laptop it's just not worth it in my humble opinion, is all I got last year's best and quite excited with it
I'm planning to run mine on my 8 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor setup at my home office, 6 30 inch 2560x1600 monitors in the office and with two Innoview 18 inch 2560x1600 500 nits portable monitors and a 14 inch ultrawide 3840x1100 Wisecoco portable monitor everywhere else that isn't space constrained.
Including on my bespoke dual monitor couch gas arm mount.
For planes, trains, busses and passenger seats I'm running it with the integrated monitor and the 14 inch Wisecoco using a custom bracket to mount it to the top edge.
I’m just waiting for the asus 4060 laptops
It's a beast....I have a rtx 3070 i7 ...I will wait tho for the rtx 5000 series
Same here. I can always lower some settings if necessary. I used my HP omen 1060 for 4 years
rtx 3070 will be good for at least 3-5 years don't worry
One beautiful powerful laptop!!! Considering purchasing this beast!!!
How good or bad do the speakers sound? Marcus?
12:45 mate that screen bleeding sucks, just replace it to another, trust me it is so annoying
You also need to work with the sound, because sometimes rattling sounds are heard
Hi, thank you for valuable information and good review. Please can you comment the build quality and chassis build materials?
I prefer this since a PC you can’t move it anywhere or take with you anywhere and connect it anywhere.
if you want this with good value get the 4080 version
Whats the longevity of gaming laptops like these? Do they throttle overtime if gamed on extensively each day?
my old ASUS Rog Strix laptop is almost 3 years in use and it works like new, it have a liquid metal thermo paste, I didn't reaply thermo paste, temps are not rising, there's no throttle, only thing is, you need to clean fans from the dust 2 to 4 times in the year
I bought it for my birthday, it’s arriving on the 19th, I’ll edit it then.
After playing for more than 2hrs-3hrs at highest settings possible, u will start to notice that ur laptop can also be used as a room heater. So u don't have to pay any extra bill further :)
🤡🤡🤡🤡
To be fair though, a typical gaming desktop will pump out plenty of hot air too.
Im sure this laptop would get me to like 170fps
im interested in the 4050 with thr upgrades and dlss 3 + frame gen surely its alr better than last years 3060 which was alr enough for most ppl AAA games high settings at 60fps and competetive games running easily ofc
all at hopefully a good value
Bruh 4070 is straight trash and not much of a difference when a 3080 can beat a 4070. If you want real performance get a 4090 or stick with a 3080 ti for the moment
bro u should have included benchmark as well
@3:26 Are you sure?? Nebula HDR goes up to 1100 nits!! It's the regular Nebula that's only up to 500 nits!!
You showed the FPS, but not the temperature of CPU and GPU. Show us the temp.
Cool) Very unusual and ultra compact performance system. It would be very cool to buy one for myself, but I'm afraid the price is high for a laptop
Price??
would love to own it, but for a steep price price of $5000-$7000 is too much.
It's pretty bad that I'm getting one of these only to play Victoria 3
i would get this instantly, but most of the reviews mention a weird static sound.
I do like the improvements made, however with gaming laptops, high end to low end, I always find there is stutter involved where on desktop there is not as much.
There is no shutter, laptops GPUs are performing 75% to 85% as their deskstop Couter with 75% less Wattage. I consider that to be very impressive.
@@Sanadtm have you not heard of 1% lows?
For only 3500-4k?
For around 4 thousand dollars I can have one too?!?!?!?!?!?!
God dang what a good god damn deal.
Hope I can get one before it sells out!
Nice review and great laptop. Thank you sir.
Can it run 2 chrome tabs and excel at the same time? Doubtful
Unfortunately, no. It throttles.
Great review Bro...I love it.. please I wanna upgrade from my old Old alienware area 51 first gen to a new one but I want something less bulky...can you compare with razer 18 or alienware x18...thank you
But can it run Crysis 3?
Is the SCAR 18 still the best laptop & can you test World of Warships please in maximum settings
Can you hear the Coil Whine while watching RUclips, browsing etc AND/OR during gaming? Can Coil Whine be fixed with future software/bios updates?
I would like to buy one, but I ain't that rich like the rest if you guys 😅
Funny enough
I really wanted to buy one despite the fact it's out of stock everywhere & you putting it next to your head actually help with realizing i'm buying a movable PC 🤣
Idk man, I ordered it and there were like 5 in stock
Thank you for the review.
I wish I could afford this, but it would not be a wise decision.
What is the price for 4070 version?
watching it with my scar G16 RTX4080 and 13980HX that grabbed on Mediamarkt for 1400€
with the 16 having a micro led screen and having the exact same specs, would you recommend it over the 18?
So for this price you can get a prebuilt pc with a way better oled and even a stereo setup. Shit add a cute headphone dac/amp there too
How is cooling performance?
I was searching for scar 18 rtx 4090 and you came up. How 👏 🙀 😯 😊🥰
How many hours will this give me?
I want to be able to use this for productivity as well.
the price is higher than your pc gaming set up 🤣
Can you turn off those lights in the front of the laptop? Just curious.
Thanks for the review! What is your timespy score? My rtx strix scar 17 with a 3080 can only hit 11K :(
9:35
i did not know dlss could cause that much latency!
Finally, a 4090 laptop from ASUS ROG!
The battery is holding back the gaming laptops.
in your view is this good to record gameplay while OBS runing ?
My MSI GT72 Dominator, says hello, GT970, thing was a big as a suitcase, unused since BF 2022 :)
How is the laptop battery, mine be getting dumb hot 🔥🥵 any tips to keep it from cooking my eggs
5:17 last year's Asus Strix models had 360Hz screen
A test on accoustics would have been nice.
I was playing Total War Warhammer 3 on max settings and was getting 210 watts on the gpu and 124 watts on cpu, is that normal? Seems a bit high cause many cpu cores were 99c and 98c and cpu was 81c with gpu memory at 106c. Seems like this unit is a little over juiced.
My all-time dream laptop, i guess it will just be a dream with that price 😢
Work.
@@jazzprox8003 i do work. But with that work it takes around 5 years from now to get that kind of laptop
One question, "cant record the desktop on a laptop", why is this?
Thank you
Theyre just 4080s re branded as 4090, so they can charge y’all more..dont be fooled💀
1:21 1:29 ...became uninterested when I saw the specs for screen resolution. If I'm going to buy a 4090 laptop...I want $K experience. :)
You havent really tried 4K on a small screen before then, there is literally no difference in pixels at 14-18 inches. Image is as sharp in 1080p as 4k. 1600p is great for a small screens
I am curious to know if you ever figured out the HDR?
3 or 4 USB 3.2 We need. Intel core j9 RTX 4090 or RTX 5000 64GB Ram 3 SSD 2 Picie 4x4 And 1 Picie Gen5 . I'll wait for get one .
I have ASUS Rog Strix Scar 15
2560x1440p 240 hz QHD 3ms screen
i9-12900H
RTX 3080 Ti 16Gb with MUX Switch(video card can be conected directly to screen what can give 9% to 30% better performance).
2x 16GB(32GB) kit RAM DDR5 4800MHz
2TB SSD 5,000 MB/s
This laptop can handle every game on maxed out settings and it's worth the money
Hows the screen vs a 16" ips? Cuz ofc miniled is superior but what about this vs the 16" of the gstrix for example?
It doesn’t show up on the Amazon link, at least here in CA.
