Wow this is incredible, wish i found it before I preemptively decided the problem was the compressor and buying a new one! lol

The problem that I've been having with my 2002 Tacoma was it would blow a AC But if you went over a bump or touched any of the other dials it would immediately start blowing heat even though the AC is still running. I determine there was something wrong with the control module and I took it off and I went to go take it apart. DO NOT DO THIS!! Unless you know what you're doing which I don't and when I popped it open there was a connector cable that popped off and when it popped off I could not get it back on right And it bent up the terminals on the end of the connector when I try to put it back in and I tried to fix it but now my whole entire control module is messed up and it will no longer below AC or blow air where you want it. Now I have to roll down the windows because all it will do is blow heat. Now I ordered a used control module which I should have done in the first place. I went to a couple different junk yards to try and find a Tacoma like mine but it was super rare to find and if I did they were gutted there was pretty much nothing left on them.

I have a 2004 Tacoma 2.7 xtra cab and I was just curious if anyone knows where the ac pressure switch is located so I can replace it? I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I lost effective use of one of my four fan speeds following my clutch coil getting shredded when a retainer clip disappeared - dealer tried to re-use it on a compressor replacement. Bad idea. That left speed 3 output as low as 1. The amplifier circuit was damaged by the circuit overload, and the fan speed was on 3 at the time so it got hurt by the fault. These are basically analog devices that are replaced by computer controls on more modern vehicles. I wish they had the a/c clutch fused separately and served by a relay.

So your problem was not the AC mix control actuator also called blend door actuator?

You were popping the 10A because you had a short or ground before the load in the circuit. The purpose of the fuse is to protect the components of the circuit because are not designed to handle >10A. Putting a higher A fuse exposed circuit components to more current than they were designed to handle, which is why you replaced all the shit in the path. You fried them with excess current installing the higher A fuse.

Why didn’t you just test your clutch operation before buying a new compressor? It’s easier than testing the control module. If the clutch tests good THEN test your control module and replace it if tests bad. If the clutch tests bad then replace the compressor, or just the clutch to save $.
