I will be like to see a Winston Churchill, Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy, Anne of United Kingdom, sister of Prince Charles, Camilla Shand and Margaret Countess of Snowdon, please...
I always thought the actor who played young Philip deserved many awards for his part in the episode including her death. His was absolutely amazing.
Finn Elliot. Promising actor, indeed. He's still pretty young (around 18 I guess), so let's hope his acting carreer will take off soon.

Prince Philip was through rough experiences; when he was a child. His mother ill and confined in a mental asylum; his sisters beloved him, but Cecile was his favorite sister. The plane crashed when she started delivering her unborn child.
All the people in the airplane were dead.
And Philip had to walk behind the catafalque of her sister as his grandsons did with Diana ‘s death.
Cecile RIP 🌷🌹❤️♥️
Cecilie was in fact Prince Philip's favourite sister, and probably his most important mother figure (after Princess Alice got put into an asylum). This poor woman was twenty-six when she and her husband died, her children six, four, two ... plus, her dead newborn in the ruins. And to make matters worse, she was afraid of flying, so she actually suffered terribly and died in great fear. How tragic of an ending is that?!
good riddance to NAZI trash
@@catherinewyler8377 based
@@catherinewyler8377 don't you think that's a bit harsh? The children were hardly trash
I feel bad for the children.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.Phillip was a racist too,he just hid it behind the Windsors.Elizabeth eventually got tired of it but she was just as guilty for marrying somebody who's favorite family members were all open bigots.
Prince Philip finally reunited with his dear sister and mother in heaven... R.I.P.
After all those years Then his mother was taked from him away
They're all in hell waiting to be reunited with their father the Devil. That whole part of the bloodline was generationally racist.God don't bless no mess.
Even cecilles only daughter who wasn’t on the plane joined them only 20 months after ☹️
Dear God, while it was sth. like meningitis (inflammation in the nervous system), the poor thing must've died of loneliness and despair! I'm not trying to sound dramatic, that's a real psychosomatic phenomenon!
Just imagine experiencing such tragedy as a child.
They end up the hope for all when they grow up.
prince phillip sisters weren't married to nazis. They married aristocrats who became nazis, It was simply employment for most of then. The little Austrian corporal with the moustache abolished the monarchy and aristocracy and Germany became a republic. This left a lot of the aristocracy unemployed. Some fled the country, others joined the new nazi party for work. They did after all run the old society. .
😂😂😂💀 "She didn't marry a pedo,it was just a job for him"🤦🏿♀️
Nazis are still nazis… many folks escaped and they stayed there and took the roles long before ww2 even started. They had fortunes. They participated in horrendous atrocities and supported awful people willingly. The children are innocent but the adults should not be sympathized with. Nazi sympathizers we’re considered criminals
After the revolution of November 1918 there was no aristorcracy at Germany anymore. They lost their positions and many Royalties thought they could attend the Nazi party to get a new position and status. Like the Ex-Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm, who thought he would become president of Germany with the help of the Nazis...they were blind to speak freely to follow this...Philips sisters married German aristocrats who became Nazis and they followed their husbands, sad but true.
Thanks nazi apologist.
Enjoy your long awaited Reunion with Cecille, and your mother Alice.
Rest in Peace Prince Phillip! May you be at Peace now with your beloved sister and mother!
Cecile was his favourite Sister because she was the only one who ever take care of him ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Now, he has joined his beloved Mum, Princess Alice and his favourite sister, Cecille...❤
amazing video as usual. As a huge fan of the crown, I love your videos so much.
Leonie Benesch (the actress playing Cecilie FYI) has an awesome British accent (she's German).
She's equally good in the German series Babylon Berlin 😊
Just started watching Babylon Berlin and I recognized her
Didn't the plane crash when the sister, her family and friends were on their way to London for a wedding?
In the Crown it seems they portrayed it as the sister was on the plane to come and visit Philip, while that was not true. It's rather cruel twisting the story like that.
Yes, thwy were going to London to attend the wedding of Georg Donatus's younger brother Ludwig to a Scottish aristocrat. Not to visit Philip at school. By then, he was at Gordonstoun in Scotland (the school's founder Kurt Hahn was Jewish).
I don’t know why they changed it. So absurd to mess with history so easily fact-checked. It doesn’t improve the story to do so either, just twists it.
so sad about P cecilie. now she is with her brother P Phillip
As horrific as the multiple deaths of Princess Cecile and her immediate family were via the plane crash, the tragedy actually seemed to be the main spur that helped her mother Alice, Princess Andrew of Greece make her journey back back to sanity after so many years of mental health challenges, forced separations, confinement and even shock treatments! I seriously doubt that Alice would have been able to make a stable, autonomous life for herself much less helped so many others in desperate need despite the risks of starvation, accidental death and execution during the NAZI occupation of Greece!
When ever I see King George, I can't help think of Legasov in Chernobyl.
Yes I agree. Same actor Jared Harris who acted brilliantly in the series Chernobyl. He also starred in another good series 'The Terror' if you're interested in watching that. 😊
@@suzannetabone9309 Blew my mind when I started watching The crown ! I knew King George face was vaguely familiar, so I browsed and - bingo. Chernobyl and The crown, now Jared Harris is a talented actor... with a good agent !
Has anyone considered donating to the World Wildlife Fund, which Philip co-founded, in his memory?
Yes
Very odd to set that scene at Wolfsgarten in 1934 but have Don and Cecilie's sons in the background--the younger prince would barely be a year old!
Cecilie died in 1937 in a plane crash at Ostende with her mother-in-law, her two boys, her husband and others. She was pregnant with a boy (8 months). She left her baby daughter Johanna at home in Darmstadt, who died in 1939 of meningitis, at age 3. Although Cecilie and her husband were members of the Nazi party, they would never have worn any insignia of this on the flight. They were travelling to England for the wedding of Cecilies brother-in-law, when the plane hit the chimney of a factory due to fog and Cecilie got into labour. It s a fact that she always wore black when she entered a plane. Philip was close to her and to his sister Theodora at Baden. She decided with her mother Viktoria of Battenberg/Mountbatten that it would be best for Philip to attend the school at Scotland Gordonstoun, a boarding school. Why? Because at the boarding school at Baden where Philip was educated first, the Nazis got more and more influence. The jewish director had to leave and founded the school at Scotland, more and more children of Nazi leaders attended the school and uniforms had to be worn at school if they were in the "HY". So Theodora and her mother, who were friends to the jewish director, decided it would be best to keep Philip away from this. It was not Cecilies decision or the wish of Philips father, who stayed at the Cote d` Azur with his mistress, a French actress. Alice, his mother, had broken up with her daughters, mother and husband for her mother and her husband had let her be taken to the first asylum, when she was with Philip and the family at Wolfsgarten. The family members went out for a walk, a doctor came, gave Alice an injection against her will and took her in a car to the asylum. When Philip returned to Wolfsgarten his mother was gone....a bad family tragic.
Eu amo The Crown ( I am love The Crown)

Im so dissapointed that when they dubbed it in Thai they mention Cecillia as younger sister
Yea
Really? Well that's hardly possible, given that Prince Philip was sixteen and Cecilia was twenty-six, mother of three (four) children when she died.
@@NiVi192 Well blame it on the English language. In English, you say sister(when people won't put in older or younger). But in Thai, older sister and younger sister aren't the same word, so the translater went with younger sister.
@@setonix9151 Its inaccurate then. And in many Asian Languages, older and younger sister have different words not just Thai. This is coming from someone with a Chinese background

So Philip's family is german or greek?
His Father was part of the greek royal family, son of king george l of greece. His mother had german ties but was also british as a great grandaughter of queen victoria.
@@Infernoytedits so his father was ethnic greek right?
@@luna8327 yes
@@luna8327 no he was not. George I was elected King of Greece. A Danish prince but his his roots were in Germany. The Greek royals were never greek.
Mostly German, Father was mostly danish, but born and raised in Greece, was an inept military leader, fled and stayed in Monaco during his last days, didn't make any connection with his son to the day he died, which makes me wonder why had a say on where he should live.
