A Round-Up of Day 3 of Equestrian from Greenwich Park during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Equestrian sports featured on the Olympic programme of the Paris Games in 1900, with jumping events, and were then withdrawn until the 1912 Games in Stockholm. Since then, this sport has been on the Olympic programme with remarkable regularity.
Until 1948, only men competed in the events, as the riders had to be officers. This restriction was lifted in 1951, and, since the Helsinki Games in 1952, women have competed with men in the mixed events. They competed first in dressage, then gradually in the other equestrian events.

wow, BOTH front shoes?? either the farrier was drunk while shoeing the horse or that was so so unlucky and weird.

Lol right!? But then I thought "probably LUCKY it was both front because at least it was more balanced than just 1!" My little hanoverian/tbx lost his diagonal set of shoes on a muddy preliminary xc round, I didn't even notice, he just jumped around mostly on his left lead, but he felt fine!! Lol

Joëlle Claire (this was ages ago but) I’ve been around horses for a long time, and somehow I’ve never heard of just one shoe on either back or front! Strange, my horse has always had all 4 hooves shoed

@@LS-vb3ko i think joelle was referring to losing both shoes (as opposed to both being shod). i've only met horses with an odd number of shoes who are just broodmares in the paddock with bad feet, it's corrective only enough for their comfort

Due to some very arbitrary marking in the dressage phase team GB were robbed of the gold medal .There were only 7 points in it. Tina Cook rode her test in a storm and they marked her down, Imo most unfairly.
