- I finally made it to one of El Salvadors most popular destinations - the Santa Ana Volcano. It did not disappoint. While I am usually resistance to overpopulated tours, this one was "worth every penny." It had me pondering about the profoundness of one particular quote... And not to forget, there were friends of all different fur levels :)

Hi Tamara. I grew up in los Naranjos. I used hike up there with my grandfather. We used to hike all the way to the bottom of the crater. your video takes me back 30 years. My grandpa pass away in 2019 and his is soul lives in those mountains. We used hike all day and sleep up in all the mountains around Los Naranjos. I live in California and one day I'll take my kids up there. Enjoy El Salvador.

What am amazing view from the Ilamatepec volcano , also you brought me memories from my childhood , when were kids our family used to visit my aunt who lives in Los Naranjos which is a little town right in front of Izalco volcano and her house has the most amazing view of Izalco. I have not been in El Salvador for over 23 years, but your videos inspired me to travel back to El Salvador and do the tour and more. Thank you for sharing, may God bless you.

I used yo climb volcanoes in Guatemala. It's an incredible experience. Every time you make it to the top you feel like a champion. It"s an amazing feeling, I have no volcanoes near by now, but I climbed Bear Mountain once😂😂😂

It's a beautiful vlog Tamara. Santa Ana Volcano is one of the most nice spot in El Salvador. I was there last december, and I cried because I have a knee injury and I don't know if I will come back there someday. Thank you for your videos.

You are testing t;he limits of just what the wind limits of your drone are! Next time you test it's limit, you might want to be over flat land. And not have a sulphuric pond at the bottom of a volcano nearby. Ride safe, Tamara!

What beatifull shots from the drone, how low did It take to get to the summit?
Thank you! It took about an hour to 1.5 hours. Depends how long you stop to take photos! 😂
Hi Tammy! great Vlog! Question,did you do a private tour upon arrival? or did you have to wait for more people after all? We will be there soon and we are trying to figure out of booking in advance is necessary. From what i see booking in advance ranges around $75- $100 . Thank you in advance!!! love your videos ❤
Hi Joanna! Thank you! We took the public tour (about $3-$7 dollars total). Yes you have to wait for at least 10-15 people for that tour, however, most ppl arrive by the same bus from Santa Ana so they all show up at the same time, usually around 9-9:15. You don’t need to book in advance for that. If you want a private tour, from the start location where I arrived with my motorcycle, they told me it was $35 for a private tour, so anything above that would be margin and transportation from the tour agency I guess. Also, they won’t leave for a tour after a certain hour, I think the stop going up after 11am but earlier is best anyways. The start location where I arrived w my motorcycle is called Bosque del Tibet and from there you can hire a private guide. Let me know if I can help w any other information!

Oh that’s awesome! If I remember correctly arrive before 9am. There is a bus that most people come in on and I believe that arrives at around 9:15am. They wait for enough people to leave for the tour (min 10-15 ppl). I would definitely double check with local knowledge though! They do not go up after a certain time.
how early did you start the hike to the volcano?
I believe we arrived around 8:45am. There's a bus that comes in from Santa Ana with other tourists and they told us they wait for that bus bc its a minimum of 10-15 people to go up with the group tour (you can also arrange private for ~$35) and the bus gets in around 9-9:15am. I don't know if its always like that but that's what it was when we were there!
