I ran a mobile disco for ten years, 75-85 and played this for years all over the east midlands. It was so popular and everywhere I went, those in the know requested it over and over again, yet....it never made it. Brilliant bit of 80s dance!

They were from Stannington, Sheffield. They used to practice in the old band hut in the infant school field. Russ went on to own Twentieth century clothing in Sheffield before he sadly passed away. Amazing band... saw them many times... best show ever was in Hillsborough park, the old Sheffield show, radio Hallam recorded it and later broadcasted it.... Good times :)

I was DJing in Lincolnshire & what was then South Humberside. I don't know which of the Scunthorpe DJs first played this, but after that, any DJ not to have this in his 12 inch box had no credibility. I'd like to claim being the 1st but honestly, it was probably Bunny (Paul Hutchinson or Al Buckley.. 7 inch single was not cool. only 12 inches was acceptable. This was the only track that I would play more than once a night, sometimes the crowd chanted for it.... AMAZING. To DJ and have the honour of pleasing a crowd with a few minutes of music that someone else created is awesome. Thanks for the Vision memories.

Enjoyed many a night out there, brilliant takeaways too. DJ Johnathon was brilliant. 'Change' by Killing Joke with the 'lightning' lights going was my favourite. D.A.F Der Mussolini too...
Rock City was something else, lighting way ahead of it's time. Love Danse Society...Heaven Is Waiting 12", 2000 light years from home!!! Still have all my vinyl plus 1st Technics Hi Fi I bought at 17 😂 Best days ever, we were so lucky to have lived it. My daughters mate is 80's mad, music cars and clothes. All the Music and Genre’s Our Generation’s been privy too. I wouldn’t swap places with a 21 year old, not for nothing. The Music was so Fine in the 80’s there was a hierarchy and snobbery to it. My eyes burn in the darkness
    Waiting outside your home
    A life that's truly immortal

I only go out in the evening
    Never seeing the sun
Draining the blood from my victims
To give me the strength to go on
Vanishing just as the dawn comes
    In vaults below the ground
    Taking life from the humans
A circle that goes round and round
    I'll never strike when expected
I'm just a shadow at night
My victims' eyes full of horror

Ye I remember.. I also remember the cubicles at the back with the curtains. Chicken in a basket, plastic palm trees, and the band. There was a little couple always dancing. I tried to look cool like Brian Ferry, but go that drunk I'd Trip over girls handbags, while they danced around them.I'd sick in the taxi going back to Dinnington.I remember trying to pluck up courage, and stand on the edge of the dance floor, getting more and more drunk, until I let myself go and spun around the room like a whirling derbyshire. Get home in the early hours, buzzing in my ears, my pockets empty, blinding headache, head and room spinning, then do the same thing the following weekend. What fun. Those were the days. cheers. Pete.

Great record that’s forever in my subconscious. I often wonder if Elton used the keyboard 🎹 riff for his 1984 hit, Passengers 🤷🏼‍♂️

the video played at 'numbers' was a special extended mix created by 'house' dj (at the time) - robert the brit. he also did one of gary numan's "change your mind" (mixed with parts ripped from the flick 'altered states'). i would love to get my hands on those!!! memories.

Chris Simon Yes well in tooon there Chris, let's not forget early Visage - Tar, Mind of a Toy and of course Fade to Grey. The Cell of course, what about Sex Dwarf and Bedsitter, there's also Japan - god how many times did I see them boys - what an atmospheric sound, especially Khan on bass. And of course, there is always the god of futurist style - the one and only Numan - Are Friends Electric still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
Any more tooons you old but still futurist dudes and dudettes - I am thinking a Facebook page coming on.......

I recall seeing them live at the Pav in Matlock Bath. It was with the new singer and I think this was re-released as a b-side on Tears Idle Tears.
