I heard this song in 1980's still going strong. Totally different kind of music.

God I love this song. Bought it when I was at college c.1984 then foolishly took it to a private party at a Derbyshire nightclub and it was nicked! I believe that it's about his cat, Lucifer, but us goth types didn't care.

I have it on 7inch . Came back into my feed today. Love it

omg, I still have this on 7" yet never even 𝑘𝑛𝑒𝑤 there was a video, till I see it X years later! 💜People that grew up with digital don't realise how blessed we are now with access to all music/video - at the same time, us 'elders' grew up with this music, heard it in Alt Clubs, on TotP & went to the gigs, swings & roundabouts..

The song was a surprise hit for Siouxsie and Budgie but TOTP refused to play the video it being to suggestive of SM it was filmed in an SM club . She was always able to get some really leftfield stuff in the charts and on TOTP born from punk Siouxsie is way way above any of these so called alternative girls of today. To quote Morrissey ' it's not dusty nostalgia it's a fact'.

Im seeing all of these European comments ... and that's very cool. Just wanted to let you guys know that this was also a huge hit on the Houston alternative club circuit in the late 80's, early 90's too! I've still got my copies on vinyl from back in the day! Great great song!

I recall seeing them live at the Pav in Matlock Bath. It was with the new singer and I think this was re-released as a b-side on Tears Idle Tears.
