i mentioned in comments on last series, give himself the books to be able to craft herbal antibiotics. should he do another series, seems he didn't read his comments. having a series end and be on the razors edge everyday cause you cant heal an infection is stressfull for him and us. being trapped inside a building unable to leave is already a hefty handicap
Can you use chairs as fuel in a cooking pot etc. Wouldn't you get more value out of them as you only get what 75% via scrapping?

For my part I suggested a "Quarantined" instead of "Trapped inside", as in a cordoned off section of town. You can leave the POI you're staying in so long as it remains in view.

Bridging time
If you harvest potted plants with a shovel instead of picking them up and scrapping you have a chance of getting a tree seed. I gather them all up and then at night when you’re hiding you can place them and harvest with the shovel. It expends more energy but you can stop once you have the trees you need.
*EDIT* this, as I’ve now learned is not applicable to the base game. It is only applicable to the Dishong tower challenge mod. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I strongly recommend putting a point into Physician early on. It does raise the chances of finding better quality meds, and at the rate that you tend to get hit, you're going to get infected. Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.
I think you need to be ready to invest the initial Intelligence points for that. Which means skipping out on other perks.
A comment mostly for the algorithm but also for anyone interested: Concrete indeed under Higashi, and three layers of it (two under the soil in the back). So don't try mining until you have decent tools to do so. Also, thank you for continuing the "Trapped inside" series of playthroughs, I'm positive hilarity will ensue soon enough.

@@perky42069i play on a server with limited wood, but also reset zones that replenish ore deposits, so coal has been *very* abundant and useful for burning there(i didn't realize it until someone pointed it out though)
Hey Glock, ik it's just clay in the end and you can just dig some up, but if you craft a shovel and strike the potted plants you get more than scrapping them in your inventory (you also have a chance of getting seeds). You can also put them in a forge to 'melt down', which is the most effective. Keep up the awesome work, love your content!
Scrapping VS digging up plants is no different - you get 6 clay both ways and not sure if you're thinking of an old alpha, but you do not get a chance for a tree seed from digging them up. You do get a bit more clay if you smelt them down, but the difference is not much at all.

Am I seeing right? Dang, I remember asking 2-3 times for a Higashi series back when you did the Dishong tower seasons! This poi means a lot to me since it played a major role in my first solo playthrough, so this is like a dream come true!
My Story: I first started playing in A16 when my brother urged me (my first ever experience). I got addicted to the game quickly, but my brother didn't have a lot of time to play, which lead to me making a single player file. It was in that first solo world, when I was still an absolute greenhorn, that I happened to spawn into a randomly generated town that had a Higashi in it. And for some reason my nooby dumbass decided "hey this would make for a great place to start". So I tackled this giant building with 0 gear and almost no experience...
It was truly an unforgettable experience. I had SO many first times in this building. Like I will never forget when I finally reached the upper floors and encountered my first ever runners. My first wights! They were an insane challenge for my clueless ass! I can still feel the adrenaline! Haha
I think it took me almost 2 (ingame) weeks to clear the entire building, since I spent the nights harvesting resources like mechanical parts. I lived in that building. Even after I had it fully cleared it remained my base for a long time. I fought my first 3 hordes there. And even when I finally moved out and built a custom base, I was living on the empty plot right behind it. And since it was A16, where most POIs were extremely basic, encountering this as my first dungeon style poi obviously blew my mind. And for all those reasons it will forever remain as my favourite poi!

Making a balcony for crops would probably be a good compromise, maybe on the 3rd floor or so. Wouldn't be considered bridging, and it eats up building supplies so its a tradeoff for easier access. (or use the entryway arch by going through a window)
You could always get a little balcony garden going until you clear to the roof 🪴

Looking back, Glock's grudge against cornmeal was only ever getting one at a time. Granted, maxing loot abundance artificially fixes that, but hey - he had like, nine or more of them stacked up by nightfall. He can now temporarily set aside the rage, for something else.

If you do a sneak attack with the knife, you get a 5.5x damage multiplier, might come in handy while clearing the rest of the building

If it wasn't for the fact that keeping in leather is going to be a pain without scrapping some of the office chairs I would have thought you'd stick with Fortitude and Brawler, as punching zombies in the face prevents you from getting infected, somehow.
At least keeping in bones is going to be much easier as you can find so many of the things in cupboards and off of dogs.

NEW SERIES!!! I do trapped in Dishong but instead of making a horde base I leave the tower on horde night and fight while looing for loot. Horde every three nights. Love this channel!😀

I'm sure you're well aware, but we're all human so thought I should just note this anyways:
Chance of injury such as infection is dependent on your current health. The lower your current health, the more likely you are to receive an injury. So staying topped off helps greatly to prevent them.
Possible farm tip: plots need to be within 7 blocks of a block that can see the sky. So if you can poke a one block hole all the way to the sky through all the floors, you can have a 7 block diamond plot on whatever floor.
@@g3synth205 You should be able to. For clarity: the rule technically isn't "7 blocks", it's based on light level from the sky. Without any blocks in-between, light coming down on a single block will spread 7 blocks.
So if you were depending on spreading from the side of the building, you'd need to knock out the wall to keep the 7 blocks, or reduce the number of blocks depending on how much opacity there is between the block that can see the sky, and the prospective planting block. Each block has a different opacity, so there isn't a strong rule here.
Bars reduce range by 1 block, glass reduces by 0.5 blocks, bullet proof glass reduces by 2 blocks are the common ones off the top of my head. (might be worth checking different guides on this to confirm numbers if you're planning out a build).
it's also worth noting this range is reduced the same amount if the semi-translucent block is placed in the main light column, or horizontally interrupting a specific horizontal distance. just if it's in the vertical light column, it reduces the entire size.

Farm plots only need light from some source, windows are fine afaik and as long as you don't have a low ceiling above them you should be fine

That early forge was a blessing!
Knock out the very bottom of the fire escape stairs because they will stream in from that side of the first floor. You aren't going to get much loot variation waiting one day versus 14 days or 14 levels, so just loot as you go. You'll be swimming in ammo, food and book bag drops, the only challenge is going to be maxing forged ahead, clearing and then possibly wood. Definitely make pipe weapons and use that ammo when you need too. I'd prep that forge asap and make a double fall backs of iron hatches. Also when crawling around the outside of the building, don't be afraid to plop down frames in all the gaps.

I like these series, the last one was a bit painful for everyone but I'm sure this will be survivable.
The last one didn't go as planned but in true glock fashion I was entertained. The suspense was good with the infection looming but finding antibiotics! The bridging wasn't epic but I sure as glued to the loot hoping for the pills lol. ❤

I'm so glad you are doing another trapped inside series. Nice to start out so calmly. But I'm sure the desperation will ratchet up soon! Can't wait!
Just a quick note since you're using the knife. I find it best to avoid using power attacks unless you're only fighting one or two zombies and you're not worried about stamina. The power attacks don't take *that* much extra, but the killer is that it stops your stamina regen. With regular knife attacks you can practically just swing infinitely after you have a couple points in Knife Guy. And the bleed damage really starts doing work as well
Healing factor does drain thirst as well. It is a pretty big gamble to take it early on if you're doing a low-loot or otherwise restricted playthrough, but I have always found it to be worth taking.
Biome multiplier in the wasteland, means the horde nights are going to get crazy FAST, demos by day 10 probably. Even specced max grease monkey to get the 33% reduction in materials for the gyro still necessitates something like 125+ steel for the chassis. Perhaps this loot bag mod will help enough. Don't forget you can break the frame out of windows and edge out enough to attach a farming plot block outside the window to plant crops. Should be able to plant a line of crops along the side of the wall on any floor with no problem. Not sure if you want to put too much hope on crafting herbal antibiotics. The recipe requires 5 blueberries per dose, so unless you get planting them right away with the living off the land perk, makes it pretty prohibitive.
I love the premise of escaping by building a gyrocopter from whatever crap you can find in an office block, and then flying off into the sunset. It sounds like an episode of the A-Team set in a zombie apocalypse. Looking forward to seeing more!
Hey Glock, the "< 0 >" at the top right of the inventory grid can be used to lock the first X slots in the inventory and prevent them from auto sorting or depositing into chests. Extremely useful for keeping certain things in your inventory like ammo, resources, etc. and still allowing the quick inventory functions.

I’m currently replicating this series for dishong tower, same settings almost exactly, in the wasteland also. My work around for trees is if I can reach the main loot I’m giving myself a seed. I’m on day 5 and haven’t got to the top yet so I feel like it’s a fair reward.
I loved the previous series that just ended. I'm glad you are doing another one so soon.
Nice series again. It will be interesting how to handle the 2nd horde and later (cops will be the main problem). My recommendation is something like a drop base that you get use of the bleed damage they take while walking up. This helped me until radiated zeds came....that was much later than with your settings. I will be also interested how you will get the engine:-) i gave that item myself since there because beside getting the luck from the generator pack in the main loot or droping a super rare engine from lumberjack it is not possible to craft one. there exists also a mod to craft one (Craftable engine). Another idea would be the mod that you get dukes instead of old cash. Because it is quite annoying when you get a lot of dollars and can't use them. I didn't find a Mod for using Dollars in Vending machines but a mod that only gets dukes. Makes only sense here because you wouldn't have the benefit from exchange with better barder in the normal mode. PS: Be careful when you or the zeds destroy the metal structure in the hall way (only 1k hitpoints) a part of the whole roof collapses (Helicopter pad) even when just one pillar gets destroyed. This happened when i digged up coming from the hospital. If you have skill points left i would also put them (later on) into huntsman and one into chief cook but especially before reach the level with the boars. One increases meat (there should be many snakes around), one reduces amount meat required to cook. But first focus should be forge/workbench. I vote again if you can mule to another building and come from under it into it i would count this as trapped inside. Good luck anyway

At the 25 minute mark I started getting nervous...haven't been in Higashi myself in a while, but the last time, those bathrooms on the 4th floor were PACKED with zombies in the ceilings!

I have recently played a game with the spear as my main weapon. The hit box is very precise to the cross hair with pretty much zero side to side lea way. I actually really like the spear now and the range is about 2 blocks. maybe 2.5 blocks.
these standalone "stay in building" mods are awesome! everything is figured out and if you step outside you are dead.

For garden plots you could potentially do window boxes off the second floor
Loving the new series. I havent played vanilla since A19, but you should be able to farm off a balcony unless they changed the code. Farm blocks require open air within 2 or 3 blocks to grow.
This type of series gives me the same after school waiting for Dragon ball z to start feeling🎉🎉
There is a munitions box in the Higashi, in the bottom of the elevator shaft, you can grab it by going to the room that is on the 1st floor next to the shaft, destroy the bookshelf and a hole will be revealed.

I really enjoyed the hospital trapped inside even tho it turned to "lava floor but not rally lava floor" it was needed to seek the meds needed to survive. The extra loot bag drop is going to make this a fun one i dont really no the loot pool for the drops but if you can get all the tree seeds and tool needed (plus antibiotics ) i feel you'll get out of this one quick if needed. But you could also make this palce a long term survival series but when s#it hits the fan you could dip and hot foot it out on your chopper.🚁🚁

If you are interested in continuing this type of challenge, there is a mod specifically for being trapped in the Dishong Tower. It has enemy and loot respawn, money can be converted to dukes, changes to some skills, recipes and harvested resources, and every zombie drops a loot bag, although most of them are empty.
You should be able to grow crops/trees in dirt near windows (natural light source / used to be able to grow within 7 blocks of a light source, but not sure if that’s still valid) and with at least 3 blocks high clear space (shouldn’t be a problem in the lobby). Tree seeds will be the problem.
Out the front of Higashi on the 3rd floor leads to the roof over the entrance. I made a base up there once.

Killer day 1. I believe that the weapons bag room has an open window, so we may be able to go outside the window ledge and around to it.
Never complain about an Aloe cream - that equals one 1st aid bandage once you can craft it. And please consider saving a few vitamins for gobbling down all of your Sham sandwiches when you get really hungry. They're good food.
pretty sure you can put farm blocks inside so long as they have acess to light like a window and theres no shortage of those in the tower , theres all those plant blocks on the first floor for example where you got all the fiber from

You could put farm plots on the side of the building. Just break a window and put down a frame and a farm plot
