Well, the chemistry between Do-Yeong and the Do-eun was literally crackling, like Do-Yeong literally fell for her. However Do-eun considered him as the means to achieve her goal. She learnt the game of Go only to have him hooked to her. Whoever shipped these two overlooked this. While I love seeing Do-eun with the doctor ( I mean they've such genuine connection, I love that scene where she shows him her scars and he tells that he will be the executioner for her), Do-Yeong definitely had feelings for her ( though he chooses to focus on his daughter due to the stuff happening).
Shippers always have the worst taste, and the ones with the worst taste are always the loudest. I'm just relieved that this series didn't pander to those types, and gave us a perfect ending instead.

He was made for her and she was made for him. At first, there was apart of me that liked seeing her with Do-Yeong because of natural chemistry but as the show progressed I realized that nobody can give her what Yeo-Jeong can. For over 18 years she’s lived in darkness and he literally brought her light whilst battling his own demons. His love, devotion, understanding and unquestionable loyalty for her can’t be matched. In the end she was going to save him as he did for her. It was love first, revenge second for them. For everyone that hoped she’d end up with Do-Yeong, there was never a chance of that nor was it ever going to be apart of the story line. If it was about good looks and one sided chemistry, you did not understand this story at all. He is an amazing father and that’s the purpose of his character.
Very well said! That unexpected chemistry just happed naturally on that specific scene. His character was created so that the daughter won't end up with her crazy parents. That I think is the reason why he did not leave Yeon Jin until he made sure that he will get custody of the kid.

I admire the guy in here so much because of how he's so patient with her, even if she's been deeply scarred and flawed by her past experiences. If I were Dong-Eun, I wouldn't know if I could return the love he gives because I probably would've already run out of it to give to him, I'll probably just push him away. *He's a strong guy for being able to love an ice-cold heart. Then, briging back the light in her eyes by thawing her heart.*
If you think Dong-eun is ice cold and hollow-hearted, then you either didn't actually watch the show, or you've grossly misinterpreted her character. 🙄

While the doctor immediately swore loyalty to her and said who do I kill first. Notice how much of the reactions and actions speak louder than words and in this case she needed a support and Ha Do Yeong wasn’t gonna be that since he has a child to take care of and his business plus divorcing his wife. He would never give her What she needed while the doctor was ready and available to do so.
Spoiler alert... One of the best scene of them is when the card all laid out, he actually waiting for her to be used and she actually targeting him to help her..😊.. All happened in quiet, just like the Go game ..
lee dohyun is noona's best bf ,we want something in the rain s2 with this couple. some saying song hyeko looking old, but to me she still looking 35 below in this drama.
SPOILER ALERT.... In the final episode, I was in a literal frenzy when Do-eun leaves the doctor - one part of me was like " Why?!" while another part of me exactly knew... I was bullied (it was never physical though ) and I know the feeling of isolation one faces even while being with a loved one... Well, coming back, I just fast forwarded the episode to the part where they reunite, and I was so, so glad that they had their own happy ending!
I think the main character had to heal her past and go back to her faith before starting his relationship with the doctor, this is why she goes on spiritual retirement before meeting him up again.

This was the weakest part of the entire series - zero chemistry between the two... there were tons more chemistry between Dong-eun and yeon-jin's husband.... :\ That match would've been too much to ask for but this match up was worse than nothing.... it didn't need a "happy romantic" ending anyway
