This music video is probably the best I’ve ever seen. The change of scenery from the dance floor to the beach gives me chills every time, so beautiful.
I haven’t seen my biological father since I was 4, so I have no memory of him. A few years back, out of curiosity, I looked him up on Facebook-and found him. I kept a chat box open for two weeks, wondering if I should reach out, and if so, what to say. Then, as I was getting in my car to head to work, my adoptive dad called me to inform me that my biological father had passed away from cancer-this just a year or so after my mom died of cancer. I can’t express the strange emotion I felt, knowing that I’d lost someone whom I’d never known or loved, and yet who was a part of my skin, blood, and bones. I wouldn’t call it grief, because it didn’t destroy me like losing my mom did-but it was definitely a sense of having lost something I never had, but possibly could have (my adoptive dad was always supportive and even offered to help me reach out to him, though I honestly never felt the need to, because I have so much love in my life). It was a door that I’d thought had been closed, yet was still propped open just a bit-only to be closed by the man’s untimely death. My adoptive dad even told me that my biological father was reaching out for me at the end. How should I feel about that? Is what I’m feeling now, six years later or so, an acceptable response? I’ll never know.

I have a really strong connection with The Ghost of You, as my great-great grandfather died in WW2 and I am really interested in the subject, but also the song itself is so emotional. Initially, I didn't see the music video, but the song has already been my favorite MCR song (Disenchanted and Helena as honorable mentions; anyways, I love all the songs but these three are just... wow). After I watched the video and bursted into tears, I said "shit, another reason to love the song". The D-Day scene was gold and Mikey's death, with Gerard helplessly screaming, was absolutely painful. Now, three years later, still playing and loving The Ghost of You, still tearing when I hear it or when I watch the video. Thank you, MCR, and thanks to the video production team for this masterpiece! Thanks for the reaction, Alex!
Alright my guy, I’ve been saying this for the past MCR vids too, REACT TO SLEEP! THE VOCALS ARE PHENOMENAL! THE LYRICS ARE AMAZING! THE REASON THE SONG WAS WRITTEN IS IMMENSELY INTERESTING! In fact, I would even go as far as to suggest listening to the WHOLE Black Parade album in order. It’s a concept album, meaning that it has a story. YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!
It's their best song, because it's outside of what they usually do. You'll find most bands have their best song sit in the same place, just outside of what they normally do, where the excursion to the outer limits produces absolute gold!
I think you got it backwards, it's about survivors guilt and PTSD. About coming back and being a ghost of your former self and not talking about it but trying to bury it.
Alex please react to Set It Off. They're a great but underrated band. I recommend you to hear: Freak Show, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, I'd Rather Drown, Breathe In Breathe Out or Horrible Kids
I liked that you talked about the loss of your father, because I've been through the same. Mine lives in another country, with another family, and I haven't talked to him for, like, almost 20 years (i'm 25). It's crazy, because I barely remember him, but is also a kind of loss. You're awesome, I love your videos. I found you because of MCR, so I'm grateful. Stay awesome, dude! I wish you reacted to Breaking Benjamin's "The Dark of You". It's my favorite song in the whole goddamn world
I remember my first tastes of MCR, I was a pre-teen, Headfirst for Halos and then Early Sunsets Over Monroeville. I’ve never looked back, they’ll always be favorites of mine. All these years later.
Something I love about watching mcr reactions is seeing all the comments and everyone is recommending a different song which so speaks to their incredible number of amazing songs. For me it's I Never Told You What To Do For A Living, but after that it's hard to say what song I love most because every time I think of one amazing song, there's always another that competes with it.

Now, three years later, still playing and loving The Ghost of You, still tearing when I hear it or when I watch the video.
Thank you, MCR, and thanks to the video production team for this masterpiece! Thanks for the reaction, Alex!
MCR does not have a single bad song. Every song is perfect. They are truly the only band that I can say that about.
It's probably a fact by now that we need just more MCR reactions.
This video always hit me in the feels. Im so glad you reacted to this because it’s a very emotional song. Thank you ❤️
Alright my guy, I’ve been saying this for the past MCR vids too, REACT TO SLEEP! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!
when you sing this song at karaoke after your mom just died
Hey Alex, next MCR reaction should be the video for "I'm not okay (I promise)". It captures the scene of the year when it was released.
It's their best song, because it's outside of what they usually do. You'll find most bands have their best song sit in the same place, just outside of what they normally do, where the excursion to the outer limits produces absolute gold!
I LOVE THE GHOST OF YOU!!!
YES YES YES YES YES
I liked that you talked about the loss of your father, because I've been through the same. Mine lives in another country, with another family, and I haven't talked to him for, like, almost 20 years (i'm 25). It's crazy, because I barely remember him, but is also a kind of loss. You're awesome, I love your videos. I found you because of MCR, so I'm grateful. Stay awesome, dude!
I wish you reacted to Breaking Benjamin's "The Dark of You". It's my favorite song in the whole goddamn world
React to Alexisonfire- This could be anywhere in the world
And of the best and .44 caliber love letter

@@theeaterofpie - Such a great song that many people can't relate to
I remember my first tastes of MCR, I was a pre-teen, Headfirst for Halos and then Early Sunsets Over Monroeville. I’ve never looked back, they’ll always be favorites of mine. All these years later.
Mama by MCR next :)
Up
This and IDLY have always been my favorite songs by MCR tbh. Real tear-jerkers.
For this band, I'd recommend The Light Behind Your Eyes
When mikey died in the video 13 year old me was DISTRAUGHT crying like he actually died 😭
As I Lay Dying: Nothing Left. Then a follow up reaction of As I Lay Dying: The Sound of Truth. The videos go together and are amazing!
He will see our comments at some point. I hope... Lol
Seriously, I see this song requests in almost every video and still we wait lol
Dude holy shit Alex needs to react to those videos so you’ll shut up you’re literally on every single comment section
Agreed
This song is really emotional, in my opinion. Everything about this song is so beautiful, the lyrics, the instrument, especially the guitar chord.
I see some cool suggestions in here, so I'll throw in mine, too: The Sharpest Lives and The World Is Ugly both by MCR
Yay i recommended this. MCR are the best. Please react to 'the light behind your eyes' if you *really* wanna cry
Finally yeeees!!!! I'm so happy you reacted to this song

@@amydubuque2894 👍😉
I think the last group (by grandson) is very good
Just say his voice and his music are very special
Highly recommend
(I don't know if my English is good 😂😂 it's not my native language)
@@shmebulock4521 oh ok awesome. I'll check them out! Thank you so much for that recommendation!😁😁 no your English is good. I didnt know it wasn't your native language. 🙂 what's your native language?
Thanks for checking this out. They are one of my favorites, I think I've said that on a previous video. Sorry to repeat. Other songs that I would suggest are "save yourself, I'll hold them back" "nanana" and "sing" they are themed from the danger days album and nanana and sing are a running story within the music videos, but the theme of save yourself ill hold them back comes through. Honestly they don't put out albums, they do rock operas. Where start to finish is a story or theme.
You must do reaction to "Cancer" by My chemical romance.. dope song
Do you want him to cry?
That song is emotional, let's see how he handles it
@@Angga01019 yea makes sense lol it always makes me cry so i also want to see how he handles it
This song is among my favorites, and it has more meaning to me now after some things that've gone on in my life over the past year. I was really looking forward to seeing you get to this particular MCR song and I'm really glad that you GOT IT, y'know? You're a great guy and I'm looking forward to seeing more videos from you in the future! 🎶💕
You need to react to their song "I'm not ok (I promise)" such a great song of theirs
One of my favorite MCR songs. I still to this day remember the feeling I had, the first time I heard this song.
DUDE YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO PALAYE ROYALE- ANXIETY IF YOU THINK THIS IS SICK!!!!
Guitar_hero667 7 I was definitely getting some Famous Last Words vibes with the Anxiety music video
@@woahitswinter1394 The settings was like the combination of Famous last words and Na Na Na MV settings.
That was actually good, but I'm not that much impressed with the music.
YESSS ITS SO GOOD!!
Uh yass, we need some Palaye reactions
100% Best reaction channel on YT been a fan for a couple of years now and I love the content you have put out, really has helped me through some tough times. Keep it up man
Reacted to this one on my channel, became one of my favorite songs ever!
This album had a lot of songs inspired by the feelings Gerard & Mikey Way were dealing with after the death of their grandmother
Try “House of Wolves” by MCR, you’d lose your damn mind lmao
Lacuna Coil.....
The Birthday Massacre...
You should 100% check out palaye royale if you like this
Hello distant twin brother
Goddamn Right some Palaye Royale!

I love MCR but I don't like Palaye. I've tried listening but Remi's voice is just too much for me. 🤷🏻
@@teeheegirli I personally love his voice, but I respect your opinion. I'm a big Mcr fan too tho
Every time I come back to MCR songs I still feel like it holds up so well.
My chemical romance - I'm not okay (I promise)
TEENAGERS BY THEM!!!!! Still one of my top ten favorites. I'm loving this, I grew up with metal because my dad was a little rebel in the 80s lmao. Now you're starting to react to the bands that helped me through High School. Linkin Park, MCR, Breaking Benjamin, AFI AND the emo love of my life, Ronnie Radke haha. I'M LOVING IT!!
Hey sir plss react to Kidd rock "Only god knows why!" and another MCR "I dont love you!"
I don't love you, Disenchanted, and I'm not okay!!! all amazing songs by them, you'd love them omg
I totally agree with you
Alex, it’s time for some Coheed & Cambria-The Dark Sentencer, Gravemakers & Gunslingers, Gravity’s Union, Welcome Home
T'was fun bro seeing you reacted as "First time seeing MCR music videos" I told myself it's impossible to not seen or hear them like way way back before but seeing your reaction, you're legit man! you had the same reaction as we had first time they released those MV's.
