We have a new Airstream on order and I have been researching Airstream trailers and found your channel. What a great place to learn. My wife and I have watched several videos and your content is terrific.
Thank you very much for making us a part of your day! We also have an e-book that is free (or donations welcome) on our website that could also prove very helpful. Thanks for the feedback and we’re always willing to help when able.
I know in a previous video I said Muddy Mat for the win but actually Costco has mats that rival MM and are slimmer(?) well, thinner but just as effective …and less expensive! We have both and ran into the same clearance issues. MM is wonderful for areas that aren’t clearance challenged
Congratulations on your new home. I ordered and took delivery April 2022 Flying Cloud 25FBT w/ hatch and desk. I successfully converted the wobbly table to a Lagun Table Mount. I attached the base to the lower passenger side dinette towards the hatch. I through bolted it to to the cabinet with subwolfer. I custom made a 1/4" steel backing plate the size of the interior wall of the dinette, and 'L' bracketed reinforced all the cabinetry to the floor. I built a wood block the size of the mounting plate footprint and deep enough for the mounting plate to clear the seat cushion. I believe it was a 4x6. WORKS BRILLIANTLY and opened of foot well area by remving the pedistals. Unfortunatly do to my hip mobility issues I was not able to continue the hitching process and sold my baby to a delightful hatch loving family. Good luck and do the Lagun system - you'll like this mod. Solves all the problems.
Love it! We just received our brand new International 23’ and are making upgrades before we take it on the road. Bought the Valet to help maneuver it when parking. We love the decor of the International and found it to be worth paying a little more than the Flying Cloud.
congratulations and welcome to the Airstream family. Those valet devices are really great. Weve seen them used a number of times. We also love all the little changes that make the International more to our liking too.
Im in a 27fb Eddie Bauer. I have the backrest pillows with arms shoved into the corners of the dinette makes it very comfy. Safe Travels from your SoCal Airstream Sister
All the hidden black latches. The originator - Southco offers them in different tensions. You mentioned the bathroom mirror opening during travel. This can be remedied with the stronger spring units. I'll be doing the same on our new 27FBQ Intl.@@ThirteenAdventures
We have the same rig with the hatch except we have the queen bed and over head bunk. it is a good place to store i get things since it doesn’t have the doors.
I love all the details you provide. We have a 2021 28T. We took out the dining booth and added a W/D combo and 2 row of drawers plus an entry way place for keys and shoes. Love it. I will be ordering the step brace.
Thank you for watching and for your feedback. We love the 28T and considered it before purchasing our last rig. We got the 30 instead for more closet space. The step brace is fantastic!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home ! We got the brace from Phil, but wondering where you got the attachment piece/bolt for the door for storage? All has been great with our 2018 Classic 33FB until this morning, when our roadside night shade would not engage & we're hoping not the motor. It might just be staying closed for infinity 🙃 (thinking there isn't a fuse) Our Piper decided to jump out the truck window a few days ago. She looked really silly dangling on her harness, while the Rottweiler got away. Wish I had taken a pic during that stressful moment. Please keep the content coming ~ Wanda, Vinnie, Piper & Jackson (currently on the Forgotten Coast )
Hi!!! Thank you so very much for watching, your feedback and the smiles this morning! I cant even imagine how stressful that moment was. The attachment for the step brace on the screen door came with it. It doesn't stay in there very well (at the bottom) but does okay. You could use any foldable broom storage type device.
@@ThirteenAdventures thanks ! We didn't receive an attachment with our order, so I'll try a command lock "thingy". Keep up the awesome content ~ Wanda (& Vinnie)
Great video...were looking at a similar model someone ordered and walked away from...the video is very helpful in making our decision...,,?4U now that you've had it for a bit is the rear hatch terrific and used for everything from cargo to great views or is a gimmick that stays closed 99% of the time
We haven’t seen our rig in about 4 months as I write this as we’ve been hiking the Appalachian Trail. However from our travels with the rig, we used the hatch at almost every place we stopped. Great question and having it is something we debated for about a year. Every trip we took pre hatch, we would discuss if we would use the hatch or not. We decided that we would use it more often and it proved true.
I’ve been watching your videos since before we purchased our 2022 Flying Cloud 23fb. Great content, one of the best Airstream series on RUclips. I have bought a couple of products based on your reviews. I’m looking at the ceramic wheel balancers and wanted to know if you still think they are worth the purchase? Thanks and “Semper Fi” but “Army Leads the Way”😁
Greetings and thank you for making us a part of your day! We appreciate your support. We now have 2 months in the rig and about 3k miles. I have not had a rivet pop inside and the stuff in our cabinets seems to be much more stable since installing the balancers. Very easy and I had a great conversation with the company before purchasing. These will be on all of our rigs from now on. Currently waiting on them for my truck!
Did you find a way to stabilize that table? I believe that would drive me insane, I really wanted the hatch too. Nice video and bless you on your travels.
Wife and I are researching and saving money for future Airstream purchase and found your videos after searching RUclips! Great videos, but all I can afford currently would be a Airstream T-shirt! Like the 2 riveted small windows and Where did you buy yours from?
Glad it was helpful! You can get the shirt from our website. ThirteenAdventures.com. Go to the Things We Love tab and get them there. Make sure you select design your own!
There are a number of upgrades that Airstream Inc has made that we would love to have. Mainly the ACs are now GE and they are MUCH better. This also changes the roof profile inside the rig and gives you a much better filtering system as well. The other big upgrade is the door. They have significantly improved the door latch and handle system. Outside of that, we are quite happy with everything. I did a follow-up video of the inside and outside of the rig you can see here ruclips.net/video/Wmz58O-OxRo/видео.htmlsi=VXZJfUf4OWKZSFqg and here ruclips.net/video/rR0cemx5YCE/видео.htmlsi=I8JYvBLee7de9n2Y I also go over many 2024 upgrades in this video: ruclips.net/video/B8Ybg6-SJcE/видео.htmlsi=8KQV6-8-1aq-4ciw
Thank you very much for watching, and an opportunity to answer your question. Choosing the twin beds over the queen bed was a long, long, long decision-making process. Ultimately, we decided to do it because we individually would had more space while we sleep. We also like to sleep at two completely different temperatures, which was the biggest reason for change. There is no way to squeeze the mattresses together without removing the center nightstand table and building an apparatus to do so.
Really depends on where you mostly travel. If you’re in humid or very hot environments, two is almost a must. If you’re mostly traveling in the northern latitudes or in a 25’ or shorter, one is sufficient. Hope this helps.
I can’t tell a difference with the truck we have. Backing it up is a little different though. Just shorter turning radius for the shorter rig. Also, the sway is a bit better on this rig. I have no weight distribution/sway on this one.
@@ThirteenAdventures So ... your towing without a weight distribution hitch on your new Airstream? But were using a WD hitch on your 30 footer? Also, which truck are you towing with? Tks a ton . . . no substitute for real world experience.
Sorry for my delayed response as this message was lost in the list. Correct, I used an Equalizer Hitch on the 30' but none here. I didnt really need it on that trailer but was new to bumper towing that big of a trailer and coming from the 5th wheel towing, I wanted extra safety. I have a F350.

Thanks for watching and the feedback. We’ve enjoyed a similar set up with pillows since making the video. Happy adventures!
You can buy higher tension Southco slam latches. No need to add additional, just change out to the higher tension version.
Are you referring to the interior drawer latches?
All the hidden black latches. The originator - Southco offers them in different tensions. You mentioned the bathroom mirror opening during travel. This can be remedied with the stronger spring units. I'll be doing the same on our new 27FBQ Intl.@@ThirteenAdventures
Gotcha! I'll check them out. We have had friends who have had the mirror open but ours only once in over 5k miles of travel.
Use the long cushion from under the two windows along the back. Helps a ton
Love this idea! Thank you!
We put Sirocco II fans in place of the reading lights in the bedroom and love it. If you did the same you could move those lights to the dinette
Excellent idea! Thank you for that. We will look into these and maybe put them on.
Beautiful rig, thanks for the tour!
Thanks for watching!!!
LL Bean has great welcome mats. We have used in our airstream
We have an LL Bean mat for Pipers bowls and thought we should look for one like that. Thanks for the tip!

big things
We love the bunk option. We tell anyone who asks exactly what you said. It’s great for storage of big things and you can even use bins up there.
Great video as always!! We keep looking at the International now, I’m loving the older salsa red color!! I’ll keep searching.
Have a great day 😊

Tell me more about the clip on the door to hold the step brace. What's it called and where did you get it? Thanks and great tour!
It came with it. You could buy something similar to a broom holder and use it.
Great video. I was wondering if the rear hatch was worth the money.
It's a great option for us. We use it most of the time in campgrounds unless its unbearably hot and we need the AC on.

@@ThirteenAdventures Thank you!
Have you come up with a fix for the wobbly table?
Not yet, except to be careful around it. Particularly getting in and out of the seat and not using the table as leverage.
Where did you get the clip to hold your step brace? We ordered one from Phil last year & ours didn’t come with the storage clip.
Phil sent it with the order. I think it was a recent addition. Of note, we rarely use it as it falls if the door is slammed.
With the 27FB with a hatch, do you recommend and use your 2nd AC? I got my order going in this week and cannot decide!

Why did you go from 30 to 27 foot
Mostly because we wanted the rear hatch.
You think that table is bad? Try the split table in the 27’ GT. Junk! It’s a bad table and bad bed.
Oh yes....we've seen it a number of times and agree with you.
