Both have assumed accents, similar to John Bishop, Jamie Oliver, Jimmy Carr, Alan Carr....probably anyone that ends up on TV or radio changes their speaking voice for maximum effect and originality.
@@jamesrowden303 , agreed. Their is probably a degree of media training but you have to admit, the Allen/Beckett accent spectrum is pretty wide for two guys from the same school.

Tom Allen is a consummate performer. His delivery and timing are spot on. i always sit with an expectant smile on my face when I see him appearing on any show, or doing his stand up work. Such a fun-gi.

It's been a while since I have cried laughing. I saw Tom Allen at the Edinburgh Fringe some years ago. That was a witty, constructed stand-up set. But trust me, he is funnier now. Oh me, if I had the money, I'd buy him that rugby team.
