    Ohh wow that looks like great fun & something to put on my bucket list of things to do! Ohh yes that’s definitely a glamorous type of camping compared to just sleeping outside with a bedroll/sleeping bag & a tarpaulin to keep you dry. Especially since it’s got a pallet deck entryway😂! (I’m a Girl Scout/GS Leader/Boy Scout Leader) I definitely agree with your travel sketching kit. I would definitely be taking more photos than sketching if you only have just 10 minutes. Just what I needed thankyou. Interesting your comments about correct colours for the country you are visiting as this I think is very hard. I went to the arctic recently but struggled to know high colours I needed other than the blues

    • @LizChadertonArt
      @LizChadertonArt  Год назад +1

      I guess that's my point - if you go to the land of ice, it's worth thinking you need a good range of blues for those shadows and making sure you have them along with other primaries. I would look at watercolours painted of that area (just google it) and see if you can spot commonalities or see what palette appeals to you - muted, vibrant, high key, low key. Then you stand a chance!!

    I, completely, disagree with your statement that “these are not brilliant pictures…”. They’re gorgeous, loose, spontaneous and highly effective. I’m very familiar with some of the areas that you sketched and find your observation re: colour palettes really helpful. This was a trip of a lifetime and I’m green with envy. When dealing with extreme time constraints and changing light, it’s difficult to decide what to put into a sketch and what to leave out. Dropping into the beautiful, economical pen lines that you’ve achieved is also something I struggle with. Have you considered creating a class that covers this type of work?
