  • SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - Former Summerville Police Officer Anthony DeLustro made his first appearance in magistrate court after being charged with murder. The murder charges mean he'll eventually go to trial where he could face 30 years to a life sentence.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) says DeLustro was off duty when he shot and killed 39-year-old Michael O’Neal in a Chick-fil-A parking lot on March 20.
After three weeks of an ongoing investigation, talking to eyewitnesses and collecting video evidence, SLED’s lengthy affidavit states DeLustro did not act out of self-defense. Records show O’Neal couldn’t have reasonably been seen as a threat since he was unarmed and tried to leave the altercation multiple times.

I saw the SC police pull cars over for no reason at all. I stopped at a gas station and had my dog. The people working inside the store were waving to me, asking me to bring my dog into the store. I brought my dog in, and a cop came up behind me and started getting violent with me. The people in the store were trying to tell this violent cop they invited him in. There's a sickness down there! I had a lady friend who worked the closing shift at a pig bar and I was her ride home so I'd hang out there for an hour or so before closing time and the stories the pigs told after some drinks gave me a new perspective. One I won't forget was a pig bragging about catching a teen boy and girl with beer and pot so he sent the boy home, detained the girl and told her that if she didn't put out then and there, that she'd be going to jail for the beer and pot. The other pigs laughing and nodding along at the story sent the msg that this is 'normal' behaviour.
