A Samoan named Troy. I like where this is going.
This was my first thought too.
Look at his base look how he bends this dude got very good technique you can’t teach that he’s a tackle
My man said “Fought-en-new” 😂
It’s fah-ooo-tah-nu #HereWeGo
We just got a potential duo of elite play at LT and RT for the next decade.
The perfect Steeler
Yes sir. Coach said they view him as a tackle so I’m assuming he is Dan Moore Jr replacement. I’m not a huge fan of keeping Broderick on the right side but he was solid last year there. I would probably just tell him you’re a right tackle in the nfl. Let Troy play his natural position because Broderick is athletic enough to play RT.
Help at any position...injuries happen...worth the pick...loving the Black and Gold since the 1-13 in 1969
Excellent pick! The dude is an excellent athlete and he will play OT.
They say he is a road grader...so I'm surprised to hear/see the struggles in the run game
Let’s Goooooooo!!!!!
They won't play him until Dan Moore is horrific for at least half the season at RT. Good rookies sit (Broderick Jones, JPJ, Benton) & terrible rookies (Pickett, Kendrick Green, Dan Moore) start day 1 or way too early.
Pickett didn’t start day one and he wasn’t thrown in until mitch repeatedly looked like the worst qb in the league. Kendrick started out of necessity of literally no one else being on the roster
If u read the statement he did also say way too early
Steelers are loading up
Great feet and lateral movement!!!
Annunciation is important
His independent hands in that first play were so beautiful
Tomlin and Khan say he is a tackle
Not concerned about his run blocking struggles early on. You stack his side with a TE and it’ll help mask any issues he might have to start.
He played LT for a left handed QB so he was the run blocking OT mostly and in the NFL he will play RT, when people bring up his height they do so without mentioning his wingspan was 3rd longest among OT in the draft. He is also aggressive which isn't something that is easily taught. Steelers got them a GUY
We may not know his position until tomorrow. Steelers might want to see if another center falls to 51.
Tomlin said they see him as a tackle for now
We r gonna play Calvin Austin as center for now.
Don't forget Penix was a Lefty so with a Right hand QB he fits on the right side
The footwork is still backwards
Is there a "possibility" run blocking technique can be coached up? No it can be lol
He is a right tackle penix is left handed the line is flipped
Idk why they say he needs to kick inside. He’s got great arm length and is a nasty dude. He’s a Steeler through and through. Coach said they see him as a tackle so I’m guessing Broderick stays on the right side which I’m kind of iffy on but Broderick was much more of a projection because of his limited starting experience and athleticism. Now let’s get a center WR and CB today
Pittsburgh cant be moving people too different position's anymore! Look at Chuk's!!
“Good” he only gave up two sacks and 2 pressures, his pass pro is GREAT. Only complaint otherwise great video on pluses/minuses
its pronounced fah-ooo-tah-nu
He’ll play guard?? I don’t think so
No more dan moore lets goooooooooo
Hmmm. We just hired a "Run-heavy" OC. We desperately need to fix the LT spot (we drafted Brod. Jones to do so, but somehow he got moved to RT???). So this year we draft a LT, to presumably be a guard? or maybe stay at LT and be a lousy run-blocker? Meanwhile our top LT is stuck playing RT? I'm confused AF. We don't need a guard. And we have a great run-blocking LT...but he's stuck over at RT. Now, maybe we run right ALL-THE-TIME and this works out (I'm open to that) but I can't help but wonder if moving Broderick back to LT and drafting Tyler Guyton for RT wouldn't have been a better idea.
The plan is to play him at RT, and move Jones to LT
I think the plan was to get the BPA. Having someone versatile allows to put the five best guys up front. It's a similar reasoning for Graham Barton.
Penix is left handed which means troy was basically playing rt in college
@@johnlemus8023don’t explain it to people who don’t watch football…Troy is a plug and play…Dan Moore is in the bench
Wack pre judgment
