    What HomeKit devices have been reliable in your smart home?

  • @andymantoronto
    @andymantoronto Год назад +3

    I use Meross smart plugs and bulbs and they have all been very responsive and reliable, on a rare occasion I've had to unplug a one of the smart plugs to do a reset but that has been very rare.

    I have a cross-section of old and new devices from the Apple ecosystem. The HomePod Mini is the latest and my favourite so far.

    Great video! I do like LIFX however I switched to nanoleaf essentials because the thread capability and did not want to have many wi-fi smart lights in my network. My 2 cents
    Thanks

      Nanoleaf is a good option as well. Unlike everybody else, I have had a bad experience with multiple Nanoleaf bulbs. Constant dropped connection and slow response times with multiple HPM and an Apple TV as the border router. I got tired of the issues so I switched to Lifx and it’s been way better than Nanoleaf. Thanks for watching! 😊

      @@AdamsTechLife Interesting, I have many issues with LIFX. I believe Thread uses channel 11 on your router, what is your Thread setup like?

    Hi, I’m new to homekits, I currently only have aqara g2 pro for indoor. For outdoor, is eufy the only choice? Are xiaomi and tp link not compatible? I also haven’t bought any homehub/homepod so I’m kind of confused which one to buy first. My main goal is to install indoor and outdoor cctvs for now.

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  Год назад

      Welcome to HomeKit :) there are multiple brands of outdoor HomeKit cameras, eufy is a popular choice and what i personally use and recommend. and I made a full video all about HomeKit hubs that should answer your question about which hub to get.

    I just have normal light in my room I want to put one that changes colour and thinking about getting a Appel speaker mini thing. What would u advise me to get I am not very good with technology. Do I need a smart plug or
    Just a smart bulb

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  3 года назад

      Each has their own pros and cons. If you want to change colors use smart bulb. If you want to just turn on and off light smart plug would work Thanks for watching! 😊

    Did you use the eve devices before or after thread compatibility? Just curious.

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  3 года назад +1

      Before thread. I will say I used the Nanoleaf light strip with thread and it was as fast as Meross smart plugs that don’t use thread so I’m not totally sure if thread would make a difference but I haven’t used it to know for sure. Thanks for watching! 😊

    If you have 2 rooms needing strip lights, one room is 44 feet and the other 70 feet, which light strip would you go with without breaking the bank?

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  3 года назад

      I like onvis and Nanoleaf. My light strip video (in description) explains the pros and cons for each brand. 😊

    • @geek2330
      @geek2330 3 года назад

      @@AdamsTechLife But they're not cheap. The Onvis being the cheaper of the two, is like $70 for a 16ft strip alone.
