I have some qualms letting the stator hang off the bike. Personal preference is to disconnect the 4 pin connector off of the wiring harness. On the Freeride 250 at least it’s an easy matter. Excellent video though.
Rajkiran Natarajan - It might not be clear but the bike is actually lent over to the right, with the handlebars on a work stand. Yes, you do need avoid pulling on the wiring. But if you’re careful I don’t think it’s an issue. One option is to use a zip tie and secure the stator to the frame to take the strain off the wiring.
Thanks for another great video! I just purchased my brass bushes from you and will be installing next week hopefully. Do you know if the product Bel Ray 6 in 1 Aerosol lubricant would be appropriate to lubricate the bendix, starter, and flywheel gears? I'm having trouble getting motorex 2000.
Thank you. Any oil which doesn't become tacky should be fine. If you're not sure you could spray a little on to something, leave it overnight and inspect it.
The more worn the bushes the easier it will be to remove the bendix. I’ve found that flywheel removal is not necessary, but it can be very tight and a bit of a puzzle, especially when reinstalling the bendix with new bushings. If you have a flywheel puller tool removing the the flywheel will make things very easy, but possibly take a little more time overall.
@@NirHason You can get that slide hammer at Harbor Freight for pretty cheap. You'll end up using it on your wheel bearings also and your rear suspension bearings to
If you don't have a blind bearing puller and slide hammer the method recommended by XRC in the bronze bushing kit instructions is to use a drill. First try using an 8.5mm drill bit and it should come out fairly easily. If that doesn't work use a 9mm drill. The drill should catch on the bushing and spin it out. I prefer using a blind bearing puller though as there is less chance of damaging anything.

Thanks for sharing. I am planning to get a 350 exc-f this summer as a first bike ever so I am watching your videos religiously. Keep it up.
That XRC cover is a work of functional art. I’d buy one just to study it under light and polish it.
I got to say you make the best how to vids. Simple job but very detailed... Thank you.
Another cracking informative video
You should design a blind bearing puller, I’ll buy it from you. Great video like always!

How did your Bendix come out so easily. My 2019 TPI Bendix unit seems impossible to get out without removing the fly wheel.

do U sell syringe for bleeding fluids.do U sell clutch basket holder U made???
do you drain the oil first?
No, there is no engine oil in the ignition cover on these 2-strokes.
Thanks for the video!
Do you have any other solution for pulling out the bush if I don't have a slide hammer and puller? drilling it maybe?
I use a tap. Screw it in by hand until the bushing spins then pull out.
