To play Devil's Advocate here: While .22 is easily available and can be carried in large amounts, it may not be the best round for "killing zombies". Especially Walking Dead style zombies. The part of the brand that reanimates the walkers is very small, with lots of unused brain matter surrounding it. While you could get a number of head shots with .22, it may not have the hydrostatic shock needed to damage that specific, small, portion of the brain without a direct shot to it. What works to kill/injure a living person mostly has no affect on Walkers. Personally, I would step it up to at least 9mm.
Iraqveteran8888 In one of the episodes last season Glenn is holding a smith and Wesson 41, and there's a walther p22 in there somewhere too and the sign in the last episode mentions a ruger 10-22 .
Eric Garrett I've asked for years. Probly hard for Eric and Chad to get through edit.. check out early dangerous experiments play list. Solid gold Barry.
10/22, Model 60s Browning buck mark. All great 22s but none are in the show. Model 60s are the most mass produced 22 ever and not a single one in the walking dead.
I love the fact that there's a sentence in there with both "practical" and "zombie eradication" in it!!! Love the videos guys....very entertaining...but also informative :)
It's funny watching Barry's pics on the topic and then seeing how the pics have changed since. Always feel for you guys when I look back to old videos.
Daniel Winters not clean through.. but through the forehead, yes it will.. even better that way, it could bounce around the inside and act like a blender.. brain stew anybody?
A slingshot might just possibly be one of the best zombie weapons tbh. I'm surprised you almost never see them mentioned in videos like these, Very quiet, small and light and ammo is not an issue. Spare rubberbands also don't take up much space so if you raid a hunting supplies shop or similar you could have enough spare rubbers for years and not require more than a small pouch or bag for it. And at shorter ranges a more powerful slingshot will go through a skull with no problems. Accuracy and rate of fire is an issue for large zombie groups, but for individual straglers there's not much I could think of that would be better.
The walking dead is incredibly unrealistic and I'm not talking about the zombies I'm talking about the humans and how these crazy-ass wannabe dictators can somehow manage to stay in power. Realistically Negan would have been killed after stealing just those first few brides/girlfriends either by the man who had his wife taken or the wife herself. Julius Caesar himself was killed by people close to him he screwed over (including a bodyguard who's wife he fucked) how the hell can some crazy asshole with a bat avoid getting ganged up by all his followers he fucked over if a damn Roman Emperor can't?
thank you the 22 has been my choice for the zombie apocalypse for years .. you can fit 13k rounds of ammo in a back pack and still have room for a sandwich .. and some water
Yea but I can put you down with one rifle round at 10x the distance you can with a .22 rifle. I would want 5.56 personally. It will be in every house, police station, military outpost and store in America. It will kill large game at reasonable ranges, there will be many people trained on this weapon to teach you how to fight, and accruing extra parts would be easier. Not saying 22 is bad but 556 fits more niches and a better jack of all trades. Just my opinion anyway
Agreed- The show turned into a soap opera and needs to be turned around. Maybe next season when the ratings go to crap, they will introduce another clan - held up at Moss Pawn and Gun : )
Gary Howell Yes, however it has to rely on roads, needs gas, can only kill from the front (and maybe from the back, but you have to hope that they end up under the wheels), and is very loud. If you run into hostile people, it only takes one of them getting a solid shot on the cockpit, and if you did add armor, you'd best hope no one can get in and deal with you. An extravagant choice, but not necessarily the best.
17 WMR with a Leopold 4*16*48, an FN 5.7 with the 30 round mags and a surefire and a Burris reflex, obviously with a can, a good AR pistol you can carry plenty of 17, 5.7*28, .223 or 5.56 and a spare can you are good man. Total weight in a nice backpack would be less than 30 pounds with easily 1000 rounds, carry a good combat knife on your belt along with your FN 5.7. This would be a great video to see just how quite and light these guns would be and how easy it would be to carry, awesome video as always fellas!!
SAW with ACOG, vehicle mounted M2, M16A4 with M203 and AN/PAS-13 thermal, vehicle mounted MK19 Hopefully I can have multiple of each and trained allies to use them. Semper Fi
Southern Cross if you mean the Predator from the movie then the best weapon would be no weapon at all. They proved in the movie that the predators don't attack non lethal threats.
On a predator planet? Like multiple predators? I don't think any gun would increse your odds of survival against multiples. 1 human against 2 or more predators yea just give up.
Excellent picks guys. All very solid choices. For the pistol I probably would have chosen a Glock 17 with a silencer instead because you can get 32 round clips for that gun. Same thing as for the shotgun, my choice would have been a Saiga 12 because you can get 30, 50, and 100 round drums for it, it's still semi-auto like the M4 but with much more capacity for firepower. Thanks for sharing the video!
I know this is a gun channel, but I would definitely use a machete or other long edged weapons a lot for zombies. save the ammo for getting out of a predicament.
Ok so I've actually given this a lot of thought. My preferred load out for dealing with a zombie apocalypse would be: Suppressed Ruger 10/22 Archangel w/reflex RDS for quick target acquisition, fore grip and beta mag Walther P22 w/threaded barrel for a suppressor AR15/AR57 (AR57 is a separate upper receiver that fits to standard AR lowers but accepts P90 5.7 magazines) w/4x ACOG, fore grip, suppressor and beta mag for AR15 upper. This would be my wall gun, and the AR57 upper is just to give me an option between the two calibers. And last but not least, my melee weapon would be a katana manufactured with the highest quality method (Soshu Kitae) And the reason I would prefer these weapons is because their accurate, durable, ammo for them is abundant, and they're silent. Also, every one of these firearms have relatively high capacity. So I'm curious what others think of this and what others might prefer for the same purpose.
Only the big bore ones (.357, .44, .50), and you cannot find those at Walmart. They only get ten to fifteen good shots before having to be refilled or pumped by hand. Also, the ammo is insanely difficult to find (Meaning once you ran out, you'd be screwed because you could not find any more.), it's expensive, and heavy.
Benjamin produces a 50 cal air rifle that runs Muzzleloader rounds. Very quiet but still restricted by the fact that it has to be refilled with air after about 10 shots. Although a Crossman F4 break action 177 is stout enough to penetrate a piece of plywood. But the scope is touchy. Maybe an Acog would work with it
You were wondering why there are no 22s in the show "Walking Dead". That is because .22 will be the first rounds to disappear after the zombie apocalypse. Unlike other rounds, you can not easily reload .22s. In fact without a factory the .22 will be the first rounds to dry up. Sooner or later all the other rounds will dry up also because of no factories to make the brass shells or the primers. Let's face it, the gun that will outlast all the other firearms will be a flintlock. It's the only firearm that doesn't require a factory to make it shoot.
No it wouldn't, heavy, loud, recoil is a bitch, and no range. Noe if you were clearing a small room and had no need for noise control that gun would anally rape people
Heavy, big round though. low capacity and a bit harder to find, between 12ga, 22lr and 9mm (most popular rounds in the world) your set. anything else would be a bit wasteful other than a few adapters for your shotgun to shoot any spare ammo you find
.45ACP is heavy, and easily suppressed - in the case of pistols or pistol caliber carbines firing it, you have got a very hard hitting and formidable stealthy weapon for killing people, not just zombies. Whilst not as prolific as 9mm, it's still very common, more than enough to sustain yourself. There's also more .45 pistols out there than just 1911s, which have much greater magazine capacities as well.
Well, if you used a thermal optic, you could distinguish a walker from a person which could be very helpful, as people are often more dangerous. Say you were guarding your camp and had a thermal optic. You'd be able to know for sure if an enemy group was trying to ambush your camp. You'd see them stand out and could save your camp. Personally, I'd like to see these guns be used in TWD
9mm Glock 19x with a Big Stick 33rd magazine with threaded barrel and suppressor. F-1 Firearms UDP-9 skeletonized AR-15 pistol with stabilizing brace/stock chambered in 9mm with suppressor and non-electro optics.
DeadlyEmoAngel xX Dude my comment meant to be optimistic and a little humerus. I known the legislative system can be hard to work through. Despite that, you guys DO have the advantage when passing bills now so chin up mate.
OF COURSE he can say "i want this law to pass". HE already said it with the new health care law that he wants passed. Trump sets congress agenda, especially with a republican leader of the house. The democrats will fight him on everything he does but they have to carefully pick and choose their battles. The bills Trump wants go to the top of congress list. Its you that doesnt know how laws work. However of course if it was a democrat led congress then nothing Trump wants would get done but with a REpublican congress, he definitely holds tremendous power to get whatever blls he wants passed.
Your the only ones who got this right (in my eyes). All the other channels are completely wrong, why do i want a desert eagle 50 cal or a rifle with hard to find ammo ? Well great job and keep up the good work
Caliber wise, 5.7x28 would be ideal (if it were more widely findable). You can carry super quiet subs or reach out to 150-200 yards, it’s light weight, an nearly as effective as 9mm. When aimed at the head just as effective. Suppresses fine.
Most important of all is being stealthy 2 stopping power 3 capacity 4 availability. Those 4 things are crucial if you are in walking dead scenario but that is only my personal opinion.
the downside with the big drum is that it's still only 50, its slow to load, and you can carry 3 or 4 25 round black dog mags instead. I had both styles for my AR-22LT
My personal list would probably be in this order: 1: Remington Model 870 (Preferably 12 Gauge for more ammunition variety) 2: Hi-Point .45 Pistol/Carbine 3: Any well-functioning .308 rifle in the $200-$500 range 4: .44/.500 Magnum Revolver (For maximum velocity on the .44, choose a .44 Magnum Lever-Action Rifle) 5: Beretta Outlander Semi-Automatic shotgun
Well something you have to keep in mind in an "apocalyptic" scenario is that you aren't really going to go to the hospital because there probably won't be any. So while a .22 LR doesn't have the most stopping power, anyone with any sense wouldn't risk it. A shot to the gut with it would be nasty, nasty, nasty, in that situation
hahaha zombie killer guns what you need is some guns and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT AMMO!!!!!!!!!!!
So my dad and me go to get some more hunting ammo here's the thing, they did not have what we wanted but they had a 5 foot shelf filled with 22lr I got made.(we were at sportsmen warehouse)
In real life, crossbows of the Calibur Deryl used are quite loud and would be impractical for everything as they also take way too long to reload. That skorpion is rad though!
nothing beats Rick's magic python. it has no recoil and sometimes shoots a couple extra bullets not just six
What about the Glock with a manual safety from the first episode?
What about all the glocks that everyone cocks the hammers on threateningly?
juderocks5 glocks dont have a safety
the early Glock's did have a thumb safety!! rare and valuable one!!!
the first ones did!!!I think the first 500 maybe a 1,000 had thumb safety's!!!!1

When I'm watching The Walking Dead, I am always asking myself, where all the citizens with 5 guns at home went.
Tbh we aren't as common as i used to think your average person has one gun in the house hold.
Tbh I’m like where’s all the made in a shed guns at because it’s gonna be hard to find gun or parts to said gun
Maybe they got bit first
they took their guns with them, car broke down, and starved to death. or ambushed by lots of guys with SMGs and then robbed and killed.
@@abysswalker2594 there are so many guns if 50,000 people survived, each person could get a new gun everyday and not use all the guns laying around

You would think 10/22s would be more prevalent in a post apocalyptic world. There's a ton of them around, and, they're really reliable.
in a walking dead "zombie" situation where they're slow and just require a headshot, it's the perfect weapon. Suppressed would be even more perfect.
David Tesch world war z type zombies, we're all fucked, unless you can find me a gun that has unlimited ammo and light so you can move quick lol.
David Tesch you need a decent cal to fuck up people though. Especially if they have armor. Even if its just a scrap metal vest

besteversaw me to!

i think id take a 10/22 with a tactical solutions sb-x barrel with a suppressor.
no, but i plan on it one day. idk if ill get a real suppressor tho. might just keep the fake suppressor.

Daniel Winters .22 will most certainly penetrate the forehead.
yeah but u will still have the full length barrel. with the sb-x the barrel is only like 10 inches or so with a shroud for the suppressor.

No it wouldn't, heavy, loud, recoil is a bitch, and no range. Noe if you were clearing a small room and had no need for noise control that gun would anally rape people
Don't forget a .45ACP pistol. Easily suppressed, great for knocking down asshole humans without inviting walkers.
Aidan Templeton a 22 doesn't have to be suppressed, you can carry 3 times as many 22 rounds than a 45 …
Why would you use a thermal optic on a zombie. It's dead it has no body heat
if its bacterial, if its viral it wont be dead.
dude your legit dumb
Well, if you used a thermal optic, you could distinguish a walker from a person which could be very helpful, as people are often more dangerous. Say you were guarding your camp and had a thermal optic. You'd be able to know for sure if an enemy group was trying to ambush your camp. You'd see them stand out and could save your camp. Personally, I'd like to see these guns be used in TWD
Argenis Esparza ooh sorry Mr Grammar Nazi, don't send me to Auschwitz please.
Josh Burns salty
9mm Glock 19x with a Big Stick 33rd magazine with threaded barrel and suppressor. F-1 Firearms UDP-9 skeletonized AR-15 pistol with stabilizing brace/stock chambered in 9mm with suppressor and non-electro optics.
F1 lower really? 😂👎
Why not a fightlite mcr belt fed upper on a full auto lower bc there would be plenty of m4/m16 lowers laying around
How come you never give a gun tour? That my friend is what is on all of our minds. Guaranteed 1 million views haha!
8.47 "Realistically in a zombie fight" lol
That moment when Trump got elected while you're trying to pass the Hearing Protection Act ;)
4:40 "Double fisting em"
It would be so hard to pretend not to be excited
Your the only ones who got this right (in my eyes). All the other channels are completely wrong, why do i want a desert eagle 50 cal or a rifle with hard to find ammo ? Well great job and keep up the good work
Nerf Zombie Strike
Top 5 guns to fight ISIS with.
RetroGamer7200 gigantic machine gun sniper rifle with no recoil and a million silencers and launches nukes at isis
RetroGamer7200 I mean ISIS just needs a little brrrrrt
just use the kolibri 😊
Saul Arevalo kolibri hell nah dude that's a waste of Money
I wouldn't mind working with armorers to customize weapons
Caliber wise, 5.7x28 would be ideal (if it were more widely findable). You can carry super quiet subs or reach out to 150-200 yards, it’s light weight, an nearly as effective as 9mm. When aimed at the head just as effective. Suppresses fine.
First
I miss BARRY!!!!!!!!!
I love his trump hat
Most important of all is being stealthy
2 stopping power
3 capacity
4 availability.
Those 4 things are crucial if you are in walking dead scenario but that is only my personal opinion.
the downside with the big drum is that it's still only 50, its slow to load, and you can carry 3 or 4 25 round black dog mags instead. I had both styles for my AR-22LT
I like Eric's Trump hat
Top 5 guns to take down deer.
My personal list would probably be in this order:
1: Remington Model 870 (Preferably 12 Gauge for more ammunition variety)
2: Hi-Point .45 Pistol/Carbine
3: Any well-functioning .308 rifle in the $200-$500 range
4: .44/.500 Magnum Revolver (For maximum velocity on the .44, choose a .44 Magnum Lever-Action Rifle)
5: Beretta Outlander Semi-Automatic shotgun
You called eazy-e?
the trump hat makes me love this channel more
Almost made me click off this video but I like guns and zombies I decided to watch
finally someones jumping on board with the .22 idea , i said this in a video years ago
Well something you have to keep in mind in an "apocalyptic" scenario is that you aren't really going to go to the hospital because there probably won't be any. So while a .22 LR doesn't have the most stopping power, anyone with any sense wouldn't risk it. A shot to the gut with it would be nasty, nasty, nasty, in that situation
this guy must have got alot of hate for wearing a donald trump hat
LOVE THE HAT!!!
Hunting, Fishing, And Guns oh white people
True it's a good hat but people would still hate him for just liking his president
Yahir 0403 don’t try to insult people, you make fortnite content

Trump supported
So my dad and me go to get some more hunting ammo here's the thing, they did not have what we wanted but they had a 5 foot shelf filled with 22lr I got made.(we were at sportsmen warehouse)
In real life, crossbows of the Calibur Deryl used are quite loud and would be impractical for everything as they also take way too long to reload. That skorpion is rad though!
