Since the show is not entirely super-celebrities and instantly recognizable people, the FromSoft people (and even some people in the crowd) probably think he's staff/production and the staff/production might think he's part of FromSoft. Nobody is thinking that much about it when you're just walking up to the stage. The most obvious part is him making it down the center aisle since he was clearly not sitting with FromSoft people but even then it's just taking advantage of the commotion
this is the ultimate testament to the phenomenon that if you simply act like you belong where you are, nobody will question you for a fucking second.

Well, at the same time, how do you logistically make sure that doesn't happen? What happens if you think someone doesn't belong up there and they do? But yeah, I agree its definitely a security concern and maybe people need to start thinking about how to handle situations like this.
The flute guy is an extremely talented musician by the name of Pedro Eustache. He's worked with Hanz Zimmer in the past. Mad props to the guy, because his effort put a well deserved spotlight on Xenoblade, which otherwise would've been overshadowed by God of War and Elden Ring.

I'm glad someone else noticed who "flute guy" was. Pedro is incredible and his work in the Dune soundtrack was amazing. There's a great video by Vanity Fair where Pedro and Hans Zimmer are talking about how some of it was made. It's definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it!

Thank you for bringing attention to Pedro Eustache! He's always been passionate like that when he plays and he's insanely diverse with his wind instruments. Have knows about him for like a decade. The man has always been a joy and I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves
i’m pretty sure he was involved with making the dune soundtrack with hans zimmer and did a lot of making new instruments to get specific sounds
Pretty much every professional wind player can/has to play most of the wind instruments, that doesn't make him special. However, he is extremely passionate and a fantastic musician and that sets him apart

This is both very disrespectful and concerning due to safety reasons, however I can't deny that the fact that something like this could happen was hilarious
He literally walked up right when they did cause his seat was at the edge near them, so It couldn't be helped that everyone thought he was part of their group. So I don't really blame them for not knowing at the start. Thankfully he didn't have any bad intentions and he was taken away by security before anything could escalate. Also as disrespectful that kid was for going up there at the very least he didn't interrupt their speech until it was over.

from everything I've read flute guys not only a really energetic passionate person who can play a bunch of instruments, they're also a really respected and loved individual in their respective field and play instruments for basically everything you've ever watched or played.
Pedro Eustache is his name. From Venezuela. Worked with him a myriad of times. He's lovely on stage and off. Has the biggest heart I know.
Flute guy is also Hans Zimmers go to woodwind person. He was a huge part of scores like Pirates of the Caribbean and Dune, and he is an integral part of “Hans Zimmer Live”. Crazy to see him here, the guy is insane!

This award show has finally made me decide to give GOW a shot. I’ve loved everything I’ve seen about the game from gameplay to seeing the creators/voice actors/etc interact irl.
The best part about flute guy is that he's played for other GOTY concerts, this year he finally decided to go all out

Also yeah, the kid moving in to frame felt really awkward to me at the time, and I'm surprised no one caught him and pulled him out of the way or off stage altogether, since he clearly wasn't part of the group

basically flutes don't have very large note ranges
so to compensate they have different flutes for different note ranges
which is why they switch so much
