My husband is a great guitar player Mr.May (Before hearing you I'dve said really great...)& he went through a light stroke&post vision in dominant eye&has temporal arterial arthritis following small brain bleed&we were so afraid wed never hear him do "Via Delo Rosa" for Easter,but he got back on track.Just has to have music now from some songs he's been playing since 14-15yrs&75.5 now,so we too are grateful! Buddy, i know you. I've played guitar and bass since 1963. I've had two strokes and survived. You can too. I still play guitar but not much with amps any more due to hearing loss. I still enjoy playing. Hang in there and take care of yourself. Take your meds and slow down. You can do it !! You're a great guitarist.

It just goes to show, this can happen to anyone, as Brian May is very strict when it comes to diet, he drinks Wine (which thins the blood), he doesn't smoke etc etc. I'm glad that he is recovering.
Yes, he's a healthy guy. Keep in mind, though, that moderate drinking does not protect against stroke but instead appears to increase the risk compared with no drinking. This was reported in the Lancet about five years ago. The previous studies hadn't taken into account the correlation between moderate drinking and overall moderation. So no alcohol intake would actually be optimal.

I suffered a major stroke 7 years ago, likely caused by smoking. Hit me really hard, but after much therapy, l’m doing real good. Even a minor stroke is a big deal, but with your attitude Brian, and the grace of God, you are going to put this behind you and be just fine. Regards!
My stroke left me still being able to play the piano but I have lost all interest in it. Before the stroke I couldn't pass a keyboard without playing it. I sincerely hope I change my attitude. Just make sure you keep going and don't give up. Don't give into the fear you have about another one. Live each day, don't fret! You have had such a wonderful life and there is alot more fun to have!
